Our shoulders are STILL sore from shovelling all that snow…or maybe it was the washer and dryer? 😂 This was definitely not the week we expected having after coming back from a week away with the family but we’re ending it with clean panties and with 3 feet less of snow blocking all our pathways and entrances lol…I’m always so curious what all of you who live in southern climates must think of how we live up here. It’s incredibly beautiful but holy smokes, it’s SO much work. Can we all collectively cross our fingers we don’t get hit with another storm like this??

Loveys, we've got a very mild sea climate here...with life threathening storms provoking high waves to invade the land... So streets might be flooded, or homes, cliffs broken off, fishermen or boats missing, the ones who stayed on land workless for days onward. Our living conditions make us part of the bigger picture, humble and searching our strength, discovering our resiliance. U guys need a proper vacation...soon ;-))))

I live in the Arizona desert, and despise the summers because they are hot AF! Like oppressively HOT. 🥵 But the rest of the year the temperatures are great. I completely agree that Canada is absolutely gorgeous, but the amount of work to maintain everything is totally insane. I don’t know how you all keep doing it. I think Canadians are just made from stronger stuff. Thank God you were able to end the week in clean panties! That’s all that really matters!! 😂🩲😂🩲😂

I smiled when I heard about the storms in Nova Scotia, and remembered that you were in another country, soaking up the sun and the surf. And then I remembered no matter when you come back it’s all going to be waiting for you. But it isn’t that the joy of being Canadian ?

I have been watching Tyler and Todd for 2 years or more, I really looked forward to each KZbin posting,It was very exciting to see what they were doing and making their home become a reality, And then came the large house by the lake, I understand they were burned out by all the work and time they spent trying to make things work and I admit it was hard work. When they first talked about the house, my thinking was maybe they could rent it for 6 months or so to decompress from all the work and time they spent so far, Then after what ever time they spent at the house they would be re freshed and winter would be over. Well, I don’t know their plans are but I think they have given up on their home in the woods, there have been no new youtube updates. So I have decided to move on, I am watching 3 great channels on youtube, one is about a family from England moved to France,. bought an a convent, a chateau and are busy working on both with a lot of new chapters on you tube, the other is also a family from the UK who also moved to France and are also doing a great job of putting these wonderful places back in order and finally there is. fellow from Holland and he bought a piece of property in Italy with 2 small buildings and is doing a wonderful job of making them into his home, So now I have a lot to look forward to..

I'm finnish so we get lots of snow every winter and it really is super pretty but also a pain in the ass. Sometimes the roads melt and then freeze again and everyone keeps slipping and when there is a lot of snow, you are really limited to only walking on roads. Otherwise it's my favourite season. No bugs (most importantly) and really pretty glittery snow!

This reminds me of our first week in Canada. It was November 13 when the snow fell and it covered the first floor of our two-story house. Now we originally were from South Africa and the only snow I had ever seen was a dusting of Snow in Cape Town it was warm so we did not know how cold it would be or how icy it would be. We lived on a hill and my mum asked me to get some groceries for her which was below this hill. I had no winter clothes and I started slipping down this hill with a car coming towards me. I had to throw myself into the snow and shivered to get the groceries. I can tell you I am so happy I live on Vancouver Island because I still do not love Winters.

The new washers launder your clothes completely different from the previous generation of washers. They use less water. The first time we used ours, I couldn't believe the clothes would be clean without being sloshed about in water, but clean clothes we had when it finished. We had three snow storms come in within 3 weeks, dumping more snow than predicted each time. I was truly envious when I saw your "snow blower" in action!

Like you two, I also need to rebuild a deck that sees significant snow every winter. I saw a cool tip a while ago. When building the railing, make a small section (1 meter?) removable. Place it in an area where you can push snow off of the deck. Makes it much easier than trying to scoop it up and throw it over the top of the railing.
@CarlTippins

Front load washing machines use way less water than top load machines. And they are gentler on clothes than top load, meaning your clothes will last longer using a front load machine versus a top load machine. But, make sure you check the seal around the door often. Top load machines tend to be "wetter" around the seal, which could lead to mold and mildew buildup. It's quite easy to clean away the mold and mildew with a damp rag...which you can then throw into the wash. Simply unfold the rubber gasket around the machine opening and wipe clean. When I bought my house in 1999 I needed to buy a washer and dryer. I had limited space, so I bought a front loader because I could stack them (they could also be used side by side). I've had the same washer and dryer ever since and love them! I've never had a problem with either. And, I got them at a "scratch and dent" store, so I paid, total, less for the pair than I would have paid for the (gas) dryer alone. It's in the garage, so who cares if it's a little scratched (and I mean a little scratched) on the side.

Hi treasures, it was foreseeable the great work that would be required to clear the cabin of snow, I can really imagine how exhausting it was for you and I am glad that you can now finally rest safely. Here in Italy I am in an intermediate zone between the Equator and the North Pole, and our beautiful territory has a great extent in latitude, but the climatic conditions vary greatly from area to area. Unfortunately, in recent years the summers are getting hotter and hotter, and I personally do not like the heat. Canada is a wonderful place, I am very fascinated by it's cold and bright landscapes. The new washing machine was a fantastic purchase, it seems very efficient and technological. I have a passion for everything related to washing and cleaning. You looked so good when you first loaded the laundry, I too when I was kid and sometimes still today, love to watch the porthole during wash cycles. Finally now you have water always available to you. I'm overjoyed for you 💗😘

😂😂😂I'm laughing at the fact how you are excited to do the washing. Its just funny, as one grows mature the more excited you are about washer and dryers. 😂😁

I have been trying to get my hubby to buy a new washer/dryer for 10 years. He keeps replacing each part as they break. You installed a new set in 5 minutes and also went out for dinner! He is going to hear about this!! Also, I have no idea why people are complaining about ads. I see maybe one that you personally do. If I watch a show on Peacock (which I pay for) I see 3-4 commercials for every 8-10 minutes of actual content. I get way more entertainment out of watching you fellas and your synchronized snow shoveling. ♥

Lots and lots of snow to shovel! ☃️ That sucks your washer/dryer broke! Thank goodness the Airbnb y’all got had a washer and dryer in it or y’all would have been really backed up waiting forever on Costco not delivering your washer/dryer! Congrats on the new washer and dryer! That’s a really nice one! Pro tip.. after your washer is done and you’ve taken the clothes out, open the drawer where you pour the detergent and softener in all the way open, and keep the big door open both to air dry! It will keep your washer from getting too moldy and mildewy stinky! And, read the instructions on your paperwork… there is a filter you need to open and clean regularly on the bottom of the machine. It sometimes can catch dog/cat hairs and icky stuff. 😉🫶🏼

I drove home from the airport after work at the height of the storm. I was wishing I was down south like u guys were! Our road from the Legion to just past the Lions Club where I live was total crap! You guys had perfect timing for your vacation!

Good job prioritizing the deck! One of my friends forgot to shovel hers and the weight of the snow broke it off her house.

If youre going to have a huge deck, ask Trent and Allie what brand their deck snow machine is. They had a different one, hated it, then switched and now they love it.

OMG! Shoveling the deck and stairs by hand! WHERE THE TYNOL!!! You are going to need it tomorrow! A Lot of people who are not Canadian, really have no idea how heavy snow is to move or how much snow you have on that deck or and how much physical work it is! great work with the JD!
