Good afternoon, Dan; Thanks for stopping by and the comments. The couple I was chatting with came off the sleeper and had come from near Chicago. They have a home in Fort Collins north and west of here. A grandchild lives in that area. The others who were boarding were headed for the western slope an Glenwood Springs. Not shown was the activity at the sleepers as there were 2 sleepers involved today. The boarding couple went to car 2. Oh well. Christmas time weekend leading to New Year's Day activities. LOL! First time I can remember #5 leaving the station early and coming to a stop until the scheduled departure time. So if I am a passenger and arrive after the train left the station, do I have to run down the tracks and knock on the door the get aboard? I don't suppose the train is going to back up for me ... Good to see Navy beat Army this year. I always had a running bet with my students who were Army Veterans over the outcome of the Army Navy game ... a cup of coffee in the campus cafeteria. You win some , you lose some .... but always had a nice cup of coffee and conversation with the Vets. As a former Navy Corpsman, the Vets were always comfortable talikng about their experiences, whether in the Army, Navy, or Marines. We shared a common experience ... and I do not give advice, try to fix people, or try to set people straight, I just listen without judgement about whatever it is they need to talk about ... things they cannot say to family, friends or even people down at the VA. Since retiring I miss those conversations. Mike, no sense you and I betting a cup of coffee on th game, I am not betting against Navy and neither are you ... I'd buy you a cup of coffee anyway if I ever get the chance! Best to you, as always Ted

Good morning, Ted; Thanks for stopping by and the comments. I am skipping the intros to get these answered. I'd put a cup of coffee on the game that the good guys (NAVY) will win. It should be a great game in any form. As for boarding a train that left early, I don't know. I have seen people who didn't board drive to Denver to catch the Zephyr there. They wanted the white glove service and the conductor to come rap on the car window instead of being on the platform ready to board. This was a first for me. I think they were rechecking the manifests after this oops. You are correct in they won't back up. Tin=me for the activities. Take care and stay safe and GO NAVY!

Afternoon Mike, checking out your new channel for the first time! Everything seems in good working order. Now if Amtrak could only get some more Superliners online and add capacity would be nice. Good morning, Jim; Thank you for tuning in and the comments. There was a lot more activity than I thought there would be. I am sure a lot of it was headed for the Colo. western slope and Glenwood Springs. The wind that was blowing here today along with the low humidity made it rather uncomfortable on the platform. Plus stepping from a warm railcar didn't help much. My fingers were getting numb out there. No. My PU is blue and parked away from the station to the east.
