A bunker is what holds coal on a tank engine. Tender engines, like Henry and Gordon, have, well, tenders, which are separate from the engine, and can carry more coal and water. This allows tender engines to (usually) go much farther distances than tank engines. Just thought I'd answer that bunker question.

I don’t want to be the “um actually “ guy, but some of the story for this movie actually got leaked earlier in July. It is kind of crazy, but the basic is that Thomas and his friends are fighting against the tyranny of dieselization with the Second World War being an allegory for the fight against good and evil, and the holocaust to an extent with the diesels wanting to scrap the steam engines. There would even be some other new characters like French minecarts who snuck around the island using tunnels (and represented the French resistance). There would even be some British military tug boats who were husband and wife. Yes, I think this is crazy, but also intriguing. I don’t know who leaked it, but you could probably find enough of it through a search on KZbin. Someone actually made a fake trailer for it based of a concept trailer that was made during the initial pitching of the movie that was leaked. I think the KZbinrs name was something along the lines of BZRrailways.

Don't really know much about the shows, but Thomas and the magic railroad has a special place in my heart because I remember my mom buying the vhs tape of it for me on Christmas when I was little, and I loved watching it back then.

If I were to make the adventures of Thomas movie, I would have it open with air raid sirens sounding as a father and son escape London from bombing, only for the two to be separated, the boy lost and confused wonders over the real life walney channel and meets Thomas who just delivered a supply train to Vicarstown and meets the boy. The boy explains he was separated from his father and Thomas decides to help him reunite with his father, even though he is abandoning his home railway. Maybe have a scene where they get spotted and nearly destroyed by enemy bombers, but both escape and survive through a tunnel. The two stop and catch a breath as the boy tells Thomas how much he misses his friends and family, Thomas shares his side and tell him about his friends at the time, engines 2-6, the two pluck up courage and the boy is soon reunited with his father. Thomas returns to the NWR on Sodor and explains to The fat Controller where he has been, but while Thomas was gone, a major coaling station was bombed and destroyed, to Thomas surprise, the boy came back with his father to help, the boys father being a locomotive operator himself uses Thomas to help find more coal to keep the NWR thriving through the rest of the war with his son as fireman, with the efforts of the three friends, they are able to keep the NWR surviving til the coal tower is repaired at the end of the war. The boy gives Thomas one last good bye and tells him he’ll miss him, Then Gordon takes the two home on the express for free up until barrow in furness. The movie ends with the engines being repainted from war time black back to their vibrant blue, red and green colors. Thomas tells us he is happy to have such great friends by his side, telling us that makes him a really useful engine.

Great video Dazz! There is actually some more information on this film that perhaps you haven't heard of as not too long ago specifically June of this year a KZbinr by the name of Derek Smith actually got into contact with one of the folks who was working on this film and he got a whole bunch of new information on this cancelled film, I'll leave a link to his video if you want to check that it out. But pretty much some of the major reveals were that the engine's standard grey faces would've been replaced with more mechanical almost robot like faces to appeal to an older demographic, the main bad guy of the movie was this Diesel engine named Smoke and his whole plan was to smelt all the steam engines and take over the island of sodor, and the whole steam v. diesel plot would also be an allegory for WW2 so yes it's plausible nazi diesels were gonna be a thing in this movie. Thing is a WWII Thomas movie could work. Maybe Sodor is used as a safe haven for refugees due to it being up north and out of the way. On top of their usual work, Thomas and the engines also have to relocate the children sent away into new housing. Thomas strikes up a friendship with a young girl (lets call her Grace), who's worried for her family back in London. Things get complicated when some of the engines are drafted to the mainland to aid in the war efforts (maybe Edward, James and Henry), and one of them doesn't return. Upon learning that the remaining engine was attempting to escape London with several civilians, including Grace's mother, and was trapped, Thomas and Grace set off to the mainland to rescue them from the the blitz and hopefully make it back to Sodor. That could be interesting; it's a darker take, but would still retain the spirit of Thomas & Friends.

I thought Universal would have distributed this movie via their Focus Features division considering they distributed Shane Acker’s other movie 9. It also seemed like the kind of movie that Focus would put out given that they’ve put out stuff like Coraline and that new Amy Winehouse movie (in North America). In hindsight it’s kinda funny to me that the studio that animated 9 went on to animate Thomas after Nitrogen left the show.

I actually thought of an idea about keeping the WWII setting but have it like the kid was sent to live with his Aunt and Uncle who aren't too familiar with raising kids, so they try to make him feel at home but of course he just wants his Dad back who was drafted off during one of the most important points in history, D-Day, and the boy copes with not having his Dad their for the moment by retreating into Sodor which at first you'd think "Oh so it's like Narina" till you realize it's a copping Mechanism for him being with Unfamiliar people in an Unfamiliar Place (Yes, I'd make the kid Autistic Representation) and he feels at home as his Dad used to take him down the Train Yard all the time which he loved doing because his fasicnation with Trains. The Uncle does eventually find a way to ease him into his new temporary life in the Countryside by taking him to wear he works, at a local Helicopter Repair shop, which the young boy is in awe from the mechanics of the boat and one of which looks like a familiar White Rescue Heli we all know from Thomas and Friends, also the Fat Controller would actually be based on his Uncle and he starts bonding with his Aunt as well as his Uncle, as she would find out about his love of trains from her Brother and decides to take him and his Uncle on a Day Trip to their local Train Yard, which turns out one of the people working their knows the boy's Dad and even lets him take a look at some real amazing trains, though he isn't too keen on the big scary trains... the Disesal Engine Trains! Eventually though it does take a dark turn when the Aunt gets a letter about her Brother which breaks her heart, she doesn't even want to tell her nephew about it but the Uncle tells her he needs to know, so they try to break it down for the boy but of course it's starts something in him as his world starts crumbling, he runs back to his room and hides away to Sodor (He frequently goes back to tell his Friends Thomas about it) and of course is hiding, Thomas then goes looking for him, to find him sobbing whilst looking over the railings out to sea, The Fat Controller then askes Thomas to standby while he goes to the Boy, and the boy actually doesn't want to look at FC (Fat Controller) because he reminds him of his Uncle who told him the news that broke him and his world (Which Sodor looks much darker and rainer) but the FC eventually finds a way to break down to the boy that it's okay to let it all out and eventually the boy hugs him and when the boy looks up, it's his Uncle and the camera pans out with the boy crying as he's being held by his Uncle and you see his aunt in tears but glad he's okay. Few days later, the boy was meant to go back to live with his Grandmother but she thought the Fresh Air would be better than the air in London anyways, so the Aunt and Uncle decide to go through an Adoption Agency and essentially adopt their Nephew so he can remain with them as long as he wants, which he's happy with and they basically go down the the trainstation to send off the other kids who were in the local village, the boy notices a figure waving back att him from the train, it looks familiar to him, which he felt happy to see them but he doesn't know why. The Movie basically ends with a happy ending but it'd have some dark moments and the reveal about Sodor would be predictable but also make sense in the context of the plot. That's my idea anyways, I'm dyslexic as hell so I wouldn't know if I could write a whole script about it but would love to Direct it
