Joey! Worlds collide! My band opened for them way back for one of their first gigs in Minnesota, and we're always sure to go to their gigs when they're in the Twin Cities. They're really great guys, I'm happy to see Joey getting the recognition he deserves. Their bass player's name is Dave too...

Hey Captain, I'd just like to say thank you for turning me onto this band. I checked out their music after watching this and, having liked it, bought tickets to their Manchester show. What a brilliant concert and lovely people too, Joey and Dave were so gracious and happy to talk after the show. What a uniquely fantastic band and I will be a fan for many years to come. Great taste.

Lee, thanks for the tip off about "The Bros. Landreth" in an earlier Andertons video. I bought the vinyl and loved it so much I drove up from London to see them in Sheffield and they were brilliant!!!! Met both Joey and Dave after the gig and they were really nice guys (genuine and sincere). I can't see them playing many more small pub gigs again in the future, so I'm glad I got the chance to see them at an intimate venue. Joey plays with so much soul and feel (especially with what looks like piano wire he uses for strings) and the Victory amp he used also kicked bottom!!!!!

What a coincidence! An hour before I saw this KZbin, I was listening to a blues channel on Shaw up here in Edmonton when I heard this really good slide playing. I checked out the artist and is said Joey Landreth. I wondered if he was related to Sonny. So I googled the and up came these Canucks, Bros. Landreth. Cool. Given how KZbin checks everything you have googled, this Vid came up the next time I opened KZbin. Love Joey's guitar and playing.

I actually know this guitar. I'm from Saskatoon and I've played that guitar twice in a cover band. The pick ups come from an old Harmony and it's a Warmouth neck and a Fender Strat body. It's from Village Guitar in Saskatoon. Check them out, it's a great shop.

Not sure if The Captain ends up reading these or if someone else runs the channel comments pass it on because I think he'd like to hear it :) but something that really helped me learn to sing and play was to write some quick stupid lyrics to a song I wrote with a few parts just to practice unifying singing/playing. It's so much easier to get the feel of it with your own music/lyrics and then move onto simple stuff. It definitely feels really unnatural at first but it gets easier, and it really makes you remember the whole song/lyrics even years later when you learn both.

Somebody probably already said this, but for anyone that might have missed it, the pickups in question are gold foil pickups. Originally, old MIJ department store guitars were sold with them because they were cheap to manufacture. They have a sonic profile not unlike lipstick tubes. Huge bass, but not muddy! A lot of builders are making more solid ones these days, and some of them aren't even that expensive!
