Lee needed some 1 on 1 lesson to help get him back on track and he's cool with us streaming it, so here we go :) I'm hoping that many people will find they need to work on similar things and perhaps teachers might get some ideas on improving their private lesson stratergy or new ideas.

I've heard Lee play plenty of times and really admire his playing style. He has good sense of melody and doesn't overplay. I found this inspiring to know that even guys like Lee can struggle to learn something new. It makes me want to learn some new techniques too. Thanks Lee.

Defo Lee.....we're quite similar in the fact that we're around the same age and been playing the same This last year through youtube I started learning and applying theory Keep at it man .....I've been busking the minor pentatonic for 20 odd years but once it starts making sense the more you want to know and you can see how things are related ....Once you nail the modes of the major scale you'll be that daft 80's robot who always needs more input Rick Beatos channel literally changed my life ...amongst others Good on you for bearing all on here Long time follower ...love you're content

Been playing for 20 years and I took lessons when I first started but only on a beginner level. I started structured lessons 6 months ago and I've learned more guitar/ music information literally in the last 6 months taking lessons than I have my entire life. Keep at it and if you can make time and find a good teacher, take structured lessons

When Lee talks about being embarrassed by having to go so slow... I remember feeling like an idiot in college spending about 2 hours on 4 measures of music. I walked home feeling like a failure. The next day my instructor said "yeah that's what you have to do Ryan. This is really hard music." I thought I was a failure.... turns out that's how everyone has to practice that piece. It was a paradigm shift in my mind about what it takes to learn anything correctly. Never feel embarrassed for having to go slow!

I really feel for Lee here. It must be very frustrating for him being so associated with guitar via the whole Andertons thing and yet feeling he's not as accomplished a guitar player as he feels he should be. Thing is... I would absolutely kill for his vibrato technique. It's immense. Thanks to that, he certainly has a very musical and articulate 'voice' when he plays lead lines. He's waaay better than he gives himself credit for. I guess sitting in so regulalry with guys like Rob Chapman and Pete Honore would make anybody feel somehow 'less' (totally silly of course) but understandable. But again - whenever I watch an Anderton video I'm never thinking 'Gawd... Lee is shit'. My impression is he's just as musical as they are, given his comparatively smaller palette of riffs etc compared to the other guys. He definitely 'fits' jamming with either of them. It's by no means a competition anyway and he's certainly a really good player already. My ears tell me that. I admire that he wants to get even better than he already is. And Justin is the THE guy to help him get there. More power to your elbow Lee.

Justin I absolutely love this, what a great idea. I'm in my 20's and about a year and a half ago I got an overwhelming urge to pick up guitar. I took some lessons on guitar and bass as a kid but never took it seriously. I've branched off in many different directions, but your free lesson structure was such a treasure, it's certainly overwhelming trying to teach yourself and to have that anchor and to be able to nail down fundamentals with your lessons was phenomenal and not intimidating. Thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart. As well as Lee and the Andertons crew, big fan of the channel.

This type of video is genius - There are SOOO many guitar players out there who are at or around Lee's level, but want to improve. Much like Lee, I never learned the theory, the scales, the CAGED system or any of that stuff when I first started playing... I just learned the chords and what little licks or solo's I knew was just from memorization, wouldn't have a clue how to transpose if it someone all of a sudden asked me to play it in a different key. To be able to go along on Lee's journey with him, being at around the same level and pretty much get private lesson from such a fantastic teacher is one of the best things I have ever seen on KZbin.

I was intrigued by these lessons and have enjoyed watching. It has helped me to develop my own practice routine. One thing I thought I was good at was alternate picking, however, I decided to video myself practising the scale pattern today and found, to my astonishment that I was actually economy picking. Have discovered how valuable it can be to record and watch yourself play, especially if you don't have lessons or a teacher to point these things out. Always love your videos Justin. I am a beginner and have a long way to go but am trying not to get too bogged down and keep playing and enjoying guitar. I have to also say that I love watching the Andertons videos too, I love to see and hear Rob and Lee play and see all the great guitars and gear. Keep up the great work guys.
