A whole lot of psychology used here.. notice how Michael says 'like that?' or 'from here? 'whilst figuring out what to do.. Making her subconsciously feel like she is taking the lead and it's her decisions moving things forward. This way she doesn't feel like she is being directed or purposefully misled down some weird route to make things seem so much more believable..

So they waited to hear her ring, set up a phone with that ring, stood in the basement with another phone loaded with that ring and held it up to the floor from the basement. Then when Michael pulled back the rug, he slid her phone under it when she wasn't looking, because her phone was in his pocket the whole time

I can conclude one thing...the phone was obviously not below the carpet since the beginning....he obviously slid it below the carpet when she was busy moving the stuff over the carpet, so that he could roll it up....his "magic" was in how he made her believe that the sound was coming from below the carpet...IF it was there below the carpet....one could obviously feel it, right ? But...hats off... I love his style!!!!!! :)

Kit S, I think when he took her phone, he connected it to a Bluetooth speaker which was under the floor, so when she called it, it makes it sound like her phone was under the rug. and when she was helping with the rug he just slept it under when she wasn’t looking.

I think I have this one figured out, when he called his phone using her phone, and she started looking for it on the floor she was distracted, and that's when he put her phone under the carpet. I'm guessing there was a small flap somewhere near him that he could lift up and slip it under, while she was distracted. If you look when she goes to hand him his phone, he doesn't have her phone anymore and he appears to be standing back up from crouching or leaning over. That's why it sounds like her phone is ringing under the carpet, because it is, then they just roll it up and find it. He probably just hides the spot where its cut open and it would probably be hard to see that anyway when rolling it up.
@dannydeko3317 жыл бұрын
Or they just have a speaker with the ringtone and as he unravels the carpet he slips the phone under the carpet when she tryes to move things out of the way
@neoview51466 жыл бұрын
No, that's too complicated. Cindy is right, just classic misdirection. There's probably part of the carpet (on the unrolled part" which has a small slit and double sided tape. Easy to pull off when she's looking away. Classic misdirection, but worked perfectly.

You sure about that? Magic can be obvious to outside observes, but place yourself into the scene. Yes. Every magic trick is planned out ahead of time with special things in place that one wouldn't think of looking for normally. The key to magic is distraction and making the trick seem natural. I've seen magic tricks where the first time, I don't notice what the change is, but if I've seen it repeated I can tell precisely when the switch happens. For instance, he could've placed the phone under a flap as he grabbed ahold of his phone and walked away. She was distracted by him doing such action. Though, he could easily as well have been holding onto it and placed the phone under the carpet after rolling it up and the lady walked away. Obviously someone placed his phone in that spot, perhaps he himself, ahead of time before arriving. Magic Tricks must be planned out. I'm sure it may look like it isn't when you are actually present and unaware of what the trick is, but whenever you step back knowing it is an illusion you can't stop but call it out for it and that any reactions are faked. Sure. It is definitely possible they are, but it wouldn't be necessary. Sure they may have a mix of staged ones and actual reactions as well so they can get an episode done, but that seems a bit ridiculous. Now sure, it seems they do edit these down a bit, removing the switches, as it would be too obvious for us, but other times they are still there, just depends on how obvious it is. Even smaller tricks can fool people, I've done so upon others. Why not something as large as this? What do terrorists not have the ability to cause fear either and it has to be something much larger as a conspiracy among politicians? Possible, but more likely these terrorists are causing such mayhem. So why not something like a prank magic show? Definitely sometimes it can be more suspect as they edit out the switches, but they are perfectly doable illusions.And the exaggeration there a few sentences ago was ... wait you're a troll aren't you?

I agree. But it wasn't a speaker, it was another phone with the same ringtone as hers, which he would have to have learned ahead of time when he (or an assistant) "hired" her for the "job". He just called that phone and it rang. He also put the statue thing at just the right spot so she had to turn away to move it.
