Chaim Bloom is looking less and less like an incompetent GM and more like a victim of bad ownership. Even with the current Red Sox regime, he managed to convince them to keep Devers and sign Yoshida when it seemed like everyone was gonna end up leaving them behind. Also, not extending Bogaerts to a massive deal like the Padres did seems like a good move in retrospect.

He did everything ownership told him to do and ownership blamed him for it not working. Great move by the Cardinals

I agree its a great move. The Mookie trade feels almost fully ownership related. But he did so much that fell onto him as a GM, that he failed at. In an advisor role he’l be much better

@@PurelyBaseballYT nope, if you can't do a job right when you have full responsibility, you certainly can't be an advisor to someone else. Leaders don't follow, they lead.

Of course, I agree. But its important to remember that it wasn’t all the ownership. Choosing to say no to trades, not making a bold move, or being buyers or sellers at most deadlines. Had his upside with drafting of course

Chaim isn’t completely dumb. He was t ready to be a GM but still Has solid potential in an organization. I don’t think hiring him is a bad move for any team so long as he’s not the one making the moves

I don't think Chaim did that bad (as a Sox fan). Let's be honest we jbed the front office didn't wanna pay Mookie and Chaim was willing to take the heat. I'll give him a lil more flack for losing Bogarts but as the guy who commented bellow me noted it just jot his money to spend I believe had he had the free reign he woulds given some nice extensions. He did what he had to do which was drop Mookie and booster the farm system which has is set up for a solid longterm outlook. I think the Cards are gonna have a sleep build moment and Packy Naughton will developed and have THE comeback season of all seasons.

Don't pick out mouse turds in a pile of pepper ..... Bloom made all the decisions that led to 3 seasons out of 4 ending in last place. It wasn't just Mookie.

Did Bloom follow Dave Dombroski ?
@rayrussell6258
@rayrussell6258 8 ай бұрын
@@dennishaas4745 yes, the story is the Boston owner was furious with Dombrowski after he won the World Series, and fired him. Two months later, they hired Bloom, and they did tell him initially to get the payroll in better shape, but that wasn't the case in the remaining years Bloom was in Boston. Bloom just wasn't the right man for the job.

Calling him the dumbest man in baseball is click bait. Video itself doesn't even commit to that premise, much less provide enough evidence. He's okay at best. I liked the video, but the title is putrid.

I wouldn’t call Bloom the dumbest man in baseball. He did his job to reconstruct Bostons farm system (that’s his specialty) but he came up short as a Chief Officer way above his punching class. Who knows maybe he can improve from here with the Cards never kick a man when he’s down. Now NY city construction commissioner Robert Moses losing both the Dodgers and Giants now that was dumb LOL

I don't think Chaim is dumb, but I think a big market like Boston didn't match his mindset. Bloom honestly comes off as a guy who would fit a mid to small market team pretty well. I think he will fit with the Cards rather well.

Avila is becoming a genius when compared to Mozeliak in St Louis. Both the Tigers and Cardinals are my favorite teams in their respective leagues. It's not been easy being a fan of either of those teams lately, due to the awful front office decisions they make.

Even you said in an earlier video that Chaim Bloom made some great decisions with the Red Sox's farm system. THAT could be good for the Cardinals going forward. He won't be calling all of the shots like a GM would because John Mozeliak is still in charge. But if the Cardinals hired Bloom to improve the Cardinals farm system, this could be a brilliant hire. Plus, from what I know and from what you've said in a recent Red Sox video, Cardinals owner Bill DeWitt's mindset is not the same as that of the Red Sox's ownership group.

I am a Cardinal fan and I don't care who they hire as long as we see results on the field. I bought a scorecard at a Cardinal game last year and they had 10 coaches listed and with all those coaches you would have thought that they would have been better fundamentally in the field, worst Cardinal team that I have seen since 1970 !

Sure, I do agree. Except some people are putting to much of this on the ownership, and not Bloom. Bloom didn’t trade Bogaerts, Wacha, and Eovaldi. Its one thing if they were close on contract talks, but they weren’t. He kept them around, just for them to leave for nothing over his tenure. He signed Trevor Story, over pitching. He did a lot of bad as GM. But he was also wrongfully labled as “cheap”. The cheap ones, were the ownership. We know that
