I agree with you on Lemiuxs hit on Draper. But today it would matter who it is... obviously Lemiux had a reputation, but so does Tom Wilson,& Ryan Reeves today. If Reeves did that today,he'd probably get 1 game, since he's tight with the Player safety head..if it was Tom Wilson,he'd probably get a fine, since he's never held accountable for some reason,& if it was Kadri...he'd probably get 2 YEARS,since he does have an obvious prior record...but the NHL also clearly has it out for the guy. Nobody has been thrown out of more faceoffs,& nobody takes more penalties, that go uncalled...ok slight exaggeration on my part...bout the 2 yrs vs a fine, but there is a clear double standard for some guys today. But Lemiux was an amazing clutch player...if there was a playoff HOF...he might deserve it. But not the overall Hockey HOF... regular season games do still matter.

yes he was dirty, BUT Claude Lemieux is one of the best playoff players in history… he won a cup with Montreal in 1986, then he wins the cup with New Jersey in 1995(Conn Smythe too), then the following year he goes to Colorado to immediately win a cup with them in 1996, then comes back to the Devils to win a 2nd cup w/ them in 2000… and he always scored clutch goals as well… he also was a very hard worker and would most of the time eliminate the top scorer on the opposing team… he was the definition of a winner.

1986 was a legendary year. Greatest Cinderella Stanley Cup. Since de leafs in 67. The mighty Oilers were virtually unbeatable and all expected them to threepeat. But got taken out by the only team that had any hope that year in an epic battle of Alberta. I remember watching the last 2 minutes of that game 5-5 and Steve Smith scoring in his own net…The Flames probably peaked emotionally. Lemieux and P. Roy, two rookies finished 1-2 for the conn Smyth during this memorable Habs run for a 23rd Stanley cup. Claude Lemieux is third all time behind Brett Hull and Wayne Gretzky with S.C playoffs with an astonishing 19 GWG (in half the ice time too) and without playing on the1st line or on the PP. an astonishing number considering he was used as a defensive player. Unlike Hull or Gretzky, Lemieux’s GWG weren’t 2nd of a goal of a 7-1 blow out. No. Claude was the perfect playoffs player, the most clutch player in nhl history. His goals all seems to be game 7 winning goals, series clinching overtime goals. Late 3rd period when the tension was at its max, this mofo always scored. Scary. You needed a goal, he was it. The Perfect playoffs player. Could skate, could be physical, could score, could be dirty, could really push your buttons too by saying stuff and by the way he said it. He did it all. When the refs swallowed their whistles, he was the boogeyman. He spooked opposing teams when their season was on the line. 4 Stanley Cups on 3 different teams. Add a Conn Smyth too, that gives a lot of shine to those cups. (could have been 2 Conn Smyth) Love your show, Shannon, but even though you hate his guts how can a dude with a channel called the “hockey guy” be thinking Claude Lemieux is not Hall of fame worthy ? Come on… lol! 4 Stanley Cups as one of the main protagonists on the winning team, even winning a Conn Smyth (Could have been 2) 19 crazy clutch playoffs GWG. He was also known for taking a line off their game in a major way. In almost every playoffs not only would he score but he would also make sure that he would get under the skin of every player that he faced. Look he wasn't a "clean" player. He wasn't going to win the Lady Bing or anything. But he wasn't the dirtiest player ether. He just knew how to push the right buttons and he had an other gear when his team needed him the most. I am positive that Colorado traded for him and he was in part the reason for that cup. I don't remember who it was but I do remember that first cup one of Montreals star players went up to Claude and asked him to calm down during the playoffs and not get any stupid penalties and he ended up playing some of his best hockey.

Pépé is not in the HOF for one reason only, hypocrisy.

Lol only two games for breaking someone’s face and would have to agree about if that happened today . Would pick the suspension would be longer like 30 games or more plus heavy fines on top the suspension

Great hockey player... he's the kind of guy that is a Hall-of-Famer without the HOF stats, until you look at the playoffs... great career... HOF worthy... 4 Cups, three teams...

he is a hall of famer in my eyes , one of the toughest dudes in the league and a great defensive pest. Plus he is mister clutch before Justin williams kinda like the habs version of Wendel Clark ....feared and skilled as was Chris Nilan
