One of the best gimmicks, he sold it perfectly. Some guys get a crappy gimmick but imagine been Ted when Vince approaches you and said, "I got this gimmick, you are going to be a millionaire and I will give a back roll to go and spend money". Every one had to travel coach, Ted got first class.

Sadly, much like with Mr. Perfect (who also should've been champion at least once), I can't help but feel that Hogan didn't want to put him over. As a kid, I wouldn't have liked The Million Dollar Man (or Perfect) as the Heavyweight champ, but I was a kid so I loved Hogan. As an adult, it was robbery that neither of those 2 had a run because of Hogan.

I met him a few years back at a minor league baseball game. He stayed even after the game was over to sign and take pics with every person who waited hours in line to see him. He even autographed my Million Dollar Man wrestling buddy and cracked up when he saw it. Absolutely a class act and one of the best heels of all time!

I HATED DiBiase as a kid, which goes to show what a fantastic heel he was in the late 80’s. Everything about the Million Dollar Man was just top notch, classic heel work. That laugh is also unforgettable. As an adult, I too have become a fan of heel wrestlers, so my appreciation for DiBiase has grown considerably. I have also come to appreciate DiBiase’s fantastic work in the ring.

I remember as a kid reading an old WWF annual and seeing a section on Ted Dibiase, My initial reaction was "I didn't know Noel Edmonds was in WWF".. That said Ted Dibiase was brilliant and played the character to perfection.. I dare say there were many out there who if given the same gimmick would have totally botched it.. Also that laugh is legendary :)
