The second tale begins very much like Tim Burton's film 'The Corpse Bride' - apparently based on a medieval Jewish legend. In the film, the corpse bride is herself the innocent victim of a murderer who eventually gets his comeuppance. I haven't been able to trace the Jewish original, but Burton's wonderful film seems a tad Disney-ish in its tidy ending.

@@mistyburkett3763 Thanks for the tip. I find John Solo really irritating, but he does mention 'Lilith's Cave' - the collection of tales which includes 'The Finger' (whence Burton's film). As a friend of mine remarked, only Tim Burton could make a film about necrophilia with a PG certificate.

I think we need to use carlin instead of Karen. It’s just far enough from the name and more fitting. There’s a lovely old woman who works at our local Walmart who is named Karen and she doesn’t need the nonsense.
