"Brief Encounter" in 3 minutes, 25 seconds. A master class in timing and inflection.

Roddy was a charmer, for sure, and that voice! Whew! Such a great skit.

Yes! When he says, "Hmm...", it's just so cute. Very expressive. The various inflections his voice was evidence of his talent and classical training.

This is one of the most brilliant sketches ever! Roddy so talented since a child. And Carol, well. What else to say?

Grew up watching the Carol Burnett Show and loved it. Great cast, guests and one of favorite segments was the Late, Late Show when she spoofed old movies. Talent in spades and so much fun.

For those of you too young to recognize it, this is a spoof on the Noel Coward film, Brief Encounter (1945) which starred Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard. It's considered one of the greatest English films. Kind of like Casablanca in US film history.

I love the quick wit it takes to really carry on a conversation like this! One word to explain, chastise, apologize, question, and so on. I enjoy doing this occasionally with people, can really perk up a conversation and gets people's attention! 😃

Great actor with incredible range. Did it all... Villians, heroes, psychos, comedy ... always a unique & convincing performance. Never phoned it in.

Intelligent conversation. I once saw one with groans, cries and hums. Really impressive.

Roddy McDowell was really cute. I had a crush on him for about two years.
Doesn't matter. He was still such a hottie! I'd want him for a best friend because in real life he was the kind of person that knew other people's secrets and kept them! He was very loyal.
