There is no case for optimism. Human civilization is a toxic, runaway heat engine. Runaway greenhouse has already been triggered. Dozens of climate feedbacks are generating even more global heating. Overpopulation is massive. The six great extinction is accellerating. Biological annihilation is underway. Human corruption is extreme. CO2 emmissions are rising each year. Sea Ice and glaciers are disappearing fast. The oceans are dying. The worlds forests are all burning up. Agriculture is on the brink. Nothing is being done to fix it, because humans are an insane, omnicidal, unsustainable species and there is no way out.
