Bruce's example of self defense is a clear example of how merely owning a gun is not effective self defense. You need to train just like any form of martial art. His client's assailant's inability to hit with 13 rounds and the client's inaccuracy is proof that you need to train.

I would need more facts for this situation because two people knowing their packing can escalate violence. I not giving the gang member benefit of the doubt of being a law abiding gun owner. The other man demonstrated the value of high pressure training. I plan to own my own gun here in CA for recreation but have no intention to have it for self defense purposes unless I did my due diligence to train, educate my self on CA laws, and had bear insurance for liability protection.

I used to do undercover asset protection for Walmart. There was a guy a few hundred dollars in speakers, I went to stop him at the door and he ran. He got into an SUV and took off, but he totally saw that I took a picture of his license plate. I watched him as he drove over and ditched his vehicle and ran, got into a car, and drove off. When the police arrived, we found out that the SUV was rented and it was under a fake name. But hilariously, he dropped his drivers license in the car.. so yeah. Dumb criminals do this all the time.

As a cop, I went to a burglary alarm call at a home. There was weed everywhere. Weed was still illegal then. I left my business card on a bong. I’m sure they had a good laugh. Couldn’t believe they had an alarm connected to PD.

I was a cop too. A guy called us to his place to report something, I don't remember what. Out in the open on his dinner table was a plate of weed. It's illegal in Australia if it's not medicinal. I had no choice but to seize it and take action. As soon as we were out of the apartment I heard this loud, "DAMN IT!!" and some other choice words lol
