This woman interviewing was so professional. She arrived to the crime scene 6 minutes after she got woken up in the middle of the night. 12 minutes after the victim was pronounced dead. Incredible. And not to mention the way she interrogated, while not having a proper nights sleep. I am very, very impressed. I hope she gets the pay she deserves!

Yes! I totally agree! She was able to get the whole story, essentially, in one hour. She was so calm, and nice, and knew when to not interrupt. By the way, although she didn't outright lie, in a way, in the normal world of person-to-person interaction, she was very dishonest with him. Acting and conversing normally while deliberately NOT telling someone an important truth -- in this case, the fact that the victim was DEAD -- is very deceptive. Example: A man cheats on his wife and goes home. His wife asks him, "how was your day?" and he says, " fine...what's for dinner?" Did he lie? But, obviously, she did a superb job. It's great watching this with Bruce Rivers The Criminal Lawyer!

These monsters know how to articulate words so they don't sound like they are being controlling but they are. A lot of victims are coerced verbally and not how it is shown on Hollywood screening. 5. And he was a lover boy super simp😂 hold hands in the hall sit on my lap at lunch right you love songs never get mad at you, I was a little hard on girl until I found one. 2012 summer I'll never forget I had a basketball tournament in the valley my dad was a coach and one of my teammates got dropped off at my house he woke me up and say brother is outside going crazy he's getting aressted we are 16 I'm like tf mine you we have to leave in like 20 min I was bs over sleeping so I'm rushing to get dressed cuz my dad don't care about nun of that😂. I go out and it's like 5 cops on him he's going crazy I've never seen my boy this out of it out whole 10 year before that. So sometime pass his my tells me that he's got diagnosed Bi-polor schizophrenic as a kid I didn't get that I would never get my boy back I fought it for years and he lied to his self and I lied to my self after a while I couldn't lie to him anymore I told him your Bi-polor I'm not gonna stay up all night with you on the game smoking fucking around. You can't live how you use to, if he didn't sleep he would have manic episodes shit use to break my heart the kid was so soft now he was a monster calling his mom a b#+* we fought for the first time ever in 10 years it was a bad time for a long time. 2017 was the last time he went to John gorge he use to stay in and out he got on a schedule with his sleep and meds he was doing so good no episodes. Then I seen slip in his walk they can slip into depression in the blink of a eye it's normal for us to talk and he's happy and crying and happy again every now and then but he was doing it daily and talking about girls one day I knew that was gonna come up. We were both ladies men growing up and popular in our area when he got diagnosed everyone knew about it so the girls thought he was just crazy so he shut them out he shut alot of the world out for a long time and when he's manic you can tell because he wants to go out wants to be seen and heard it's crazy. But now he has this girlfriend and he's back to being so unstable because he's trying to keep up with someone that's not like him and that's doesn't have the time to be in that kind of relationship and he just yells and yells and threatens her we live together now so I'll never let him hurt her and he has never put his hands on her. But I just ask my self everyday why would she put up with this. I'm to the point in life with him idk he uses his disability as an excuse for everything he can't take out the trash because he's Bi-polor he's not schizophrenic anymore, the problem is he know what to do to be normal get sleep and take your meds he did it for 5 years straight now you got a girl and think your normal tf it just sucks man because he knows but at the same times he's still disabled I know this girl is gonna leave him soon and he already said he was gonna end him see if she does I'ma just call the hospital if it gets there. I just always thought he would out grow it. My uncle jump off the bay bridge in 2017 and he suffered from Bi-polor schizophrenic until the day he passed at 38 I was 21 and he was way more paranoid then my bro but they have so many similarities they got alone so well lol it scares me eventually it's he gonna get tired of feeling like this he already does he cry's to me but I never show him pity am I wrong? I just tell him I'll always be here for you no matter what always. My uncle died from a lack of love from his family my grandma did Wana believe it was something wrong with my uncle she would just leave it to God and don't bring it up and he's just crazy. All I know is when I seen this video I thought of my boy for some reason and I pray he never lets his anger get him into something like this.

I keep thinking of that scene in Promising Young Woman where a girl has been killed and the dude bro’s dude-bro friend is convincing him that it’s not his fault and he reacted like any man would… people like that they often genuinely think their mentality and behaviour is normal and they’re the victim even when they’re physically hurting people. That’s 100% accurate. I’ve met people who endured absolutely vile abuse that would make your skin crawl. Almost all these guys have a chip on their shoulder and as a result have a delicate ego. It always escalates, and it always escalates because they have this weird notion of “proving” themself. As the woman becomes more confident in the fact that his behavior is not normal, or the result of passion, and isn’t a twisted sign of how deeply he cares for her, these types of guys usually start becoming increasingly violent. First it’s because he’s off the handle and he tells her and himself it’s because he loves her so much and ‘she makes him crazy’. Then, it’s to intimidate her because the initial shock and sincerity of a few apologies has worn off. Next, it’s to one up her because she’s probably developed an “attitude” by this point (meaning she’s hit him back or threatened to leave or called him a woman beating POS which hit him in a soft spot). After that, his ego is bruised and vulnerable because she’s right, he’s a bit** (much like the post pubescent 15 y/o hitting prepubescent 11 y/os at the skate park). Then the incidents escalate to be all, end all, this is the last crazy night, whoever gets the last word or blow in, wins, she’s leaving tonight, she’s finally going to tell her family or a good friend or my mom, I have to stop her. They’re emboldened by the fact that no one did anything when she had black eyes and concussions and when the nurse knows on the DL that she didn’t fall down the stairs herself but can’t do anything about it. They tell themselves it’s normal and everyone knows, but nobody really knows so they can’t do anything as long as you deny, deny, and lie. Eventually they develop a mindset where they know it’s wrong but they convince themselves it’s a “private” “home” matter, and it’s quite normal, just crappy when someone lets the word get out. Bizarre and stupid when you look from the outside, why wouldn’t one of them just leave and call the cops? It’s like boiling a frog in water. It starts nice and warm and slowly starts bubbling over time allowing the frog to adapt until it’s unbearable.

They really are just doing their jobs, and that is making sure the defendant gets a fair trial and that includes using every legal option/opportunity available provided by the law. Without criminal defense attorneys, we would have no judicial system. I know a couple of them that won't take sexual assault cases when the victim is a child because it inflames their own past trauma. But, there's not a single defense attorney who actually wants a child abuse case to walk through their doors. I get "second-hand anger" when people make comments about colleagues "helping pedos". They're just doing their jobs. No one says that about attys who accept capital murder cases and that's considered the "worst crime" or law to break. It comes with the death penalty in some states. So, thank you for pointing out that defense attorneys don't "support" criminal abusers just because they end up representing them.

I think people need to understand how BAD Head Trauma can be. My friend simply slipped and fell and landed on the back of her head and went unconscious - she told me how she couldn't stand up and was vomiting and I immediately knew she had at least one brain bleed. If no one had found her she could have died. Another had a concussion , but seemed "aware" until the next day when she couldn't remember words. Your brain only has about 8% extra space to swell in your skull and that's very little. Aways get medically checked out if there was head trauma. The friend who had the brain bleeds from falling had 3 brain bleeds and still has never regained her sense of smell* and had a personality change. She was seen by doctors. Head trauma can really be fatal and life changing.

A million years ago when I had a bad drug addiction, I got clocked in the jaw by a homeless man. It felt like falling into a bed full of pillows. When I hit the ground I became conscious again. I did not understand why my husband was there, because we had broken up. I lived with a friend and her boyfriend. After trying to explain this to him, he asked me what month it was. I thought it was November. It was May. I forgot 6 months of my life, had forgotten becoming an addict. I looked down at the marks on my arms and started to cry. He tried to get me to the hospital, and on the drive there I began remembering things in small flashes, not chronologically, just pieces here and there. By the time we got to the hospital, I didn't want to go in there anymore, because I did remember everything. I managed to get up the courage to leave him again 6 months later. For about a year or so after I left him, I would wake up sitting straight up in bed screaming. I would dream that I woke up in a dirty hotel roomwith him. When I would try to explain to him that I couldn't be there, I had left him, I would see the look of concern come over his face, and he would tell me that it had happened again, I had lost my memory. I didn't know what PTSD was then. Eventually the nightmares faded, but every now and then I still have a dream where the past 30 years of my life never happened, and I'm still in that dirty hotel room, waking up to my ex-husband. I know this sounds like some bad made up Reddit story, but it's true. Completely true. I never thought I'd make it to be as old as I am now, and when I look back on my life it's with a weird sort of amazement that I actually have survived this far. Head trauma doesn't mess around. 30 years later, I'm starting to forget things I should know, and the doctors are saying I may end up with dementia from that very long ago KO.

My mother was a public defense lawyer. She said that if she thought of her job as getting her clients off, she wouldn't be able to do it. There would be too much pressure, regardless of whether she thought they were guilty or innocent. She thought of her job as being to ensure that her clients received every single right they have coming to them, including as effective a defense as she was capable of producing. If she does that, and they walk into a disaster of a case with their mouth... well then, they'll still get the best defense she can offer, but that'll be pretty bad. And that's okay as far as she's concerned, because if they receive all their rights and the result is a conviction -- especially because they've confessed with zero pressure -- then the system has worked pretty much the way it's supposed to work.
@liamevans7661 Жыл бұрын
My grandfather was a horrific pedo that got let out of prison on a technicality because “he was denied his rights” so I 100% agree with your mom. Defense lawyers are important to make sure the guilty don’t have grounds for their conviction to be overturned! @TheNinnyfee Жыл бұрын
That's a very realistic view, good lawyer.
@norarivkis2513 Жыл бұрын
@@liamevans7661 Yes, and that was a significant part of her reasoning. She believed passionately in the process of the law, when it was implemented by good people doing their best, as an effective way to do justice. So she figured that if her client was convicted, but she'd made sure he got a truly fair trial, then she had helped to do justice by ensuring that he wouldn't be able to get out by claiming he didn't get his rights, the way your grandfather did. And by also making sure the prosecution had to really show all its work, she was reducing the chances that an innocent person would be convicted. If, despite her best efforts, they could actually prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, then there was a pretty low risk that they had someone innocent by accident. Usually, the cases of incorrectly convicted people are in situations where there's an inadequate defense. So she figured that, if she did her job correctly, there was both a lesser chance that an innocent person would be convicted, and a lesser chance that a guilty person would get off due to an infringement of their rights. Either way, her job was a necessary part of the process. I remember her every time someone in these threads demands to know, "How can anyone defend a guy like that?" There are so many other reasons to want someone to receive a fair trial than because you believe they're innocent and should go free.

I was in a relationship with a guy like this, and they never even believe they're abusive. They see it as "you dropped a plate," or "you slept with someone else," or anything else they can use to blame you for their belligerence and lack of self control. They don't see it as an irrational way to react to a situation, no matter what's happened. They look at it through the lense of "I'm mad, and you made me mad, so this is your fault and not my responsibility at all," even if they were angry about something that had nothing to do with you whatsoever, if you even look at them wrong they will blow their top. It would shatter their fragile fucking ego if they were to even start to think of them being in the wrong, so it's never their fault. So PLEASE, if you ever see these things in your partner, even if they haven't put their hands on you yet, PLEASE think about this. It leads to this kind of situation SO EASILY and SO QUICKLY. Even if they don't mean to take your life, these kinds of people have no self regulation so their intent really doesn't matter when they get upset. And it could happen at any time, for any little thing. Please look for these things in the people you date, because you deserve better and they don't deserve you.

This is so very well said. Thank you. I was very fortunate that my abuser never put his hands on me (he once hurt himself which was still deemed "my fault") yet while I made my plans to leave I was terrified he would find out in advance or track me down and cause me harm. Thankfully I escaped successfully five years ago, but so many do not have that opportunity. Stay strong y'all! ✌️🍍

_This initally started as a short comment but it got a bit too long. Sorry for rambling, this is stuff I'm still processing. I do think it's a good example of very subtle and non physical abuse, though. Anyways, here goes:_ My ex always would always subtly belittle me any chance she had, and also gaslight me into thinking I was on the wrong anytime there was conflict, and that that gave her a reason to be mad at me, and in turn I'd start a process of getting on her good side again. This came to a conclusion of incredible spectacle last year, where at the beinning of which we had agreed to open the relationship and be able to date with other people and not give each other any priority. Needless to say I still prioritized her (even if I did have other sexual partners) and it all came to the end of the year when she cut off all sexual relationships with me on her own terms, in essense "dumping" me for the gazilionth time (looking back, it was one of the tactics she had at her disposal to manipulate me). In this case, though, I finally decided to actually follow through with that and not be begging her to get back to me. That's where the problem started. I made the conscious effort to stop prioritizing her and giving a shit about what she thought of me, and started openly talking on our friend group about other people I was dating. This was something I didn't do before because I was always walking on eggshells with her, and I knew the mere mention of me liking another person would have her go ballistic. But at that point I didn't care because I had decided that I didn't want anything romantic with her by now, and I was willing (and also oblivous to the extent of the abuse at the time as well) to let it all in the past thinking that we were both mature enough to do that and not get overrun by petty feelings of jealousy, and we could just move on and have a good memory of each other. (And also a big *besides*, the relationship was as distant as ever and it felt to me as if I was wading through molasses to make it work. Later I'd come to find out that it was not the case and it was all part of her manipulation game. She'd manage the relationship on her own terms and make it impossible to work, but yet also tease me with the possibility of it by being intimate every once in a while and generally giving very mixed signals to me. This last dumping she did was just part of that game.) It all came crashing down when she got too jealous and asked me, completely out of the blue, if I had gotten tested for STDs between the time I had relations with other partners and the 2 or 3 times I did with her throughout the year. I had not, and I was transparent about it. And that was just what she needed to try and manipulate me again. Because the thing is, never ever, did she mention that she gets regularily tested (supposedly, mind you), and never ever did she mention that as a pre-requisite to have intercourse with her if we were going to open the relatioship. And never ever did she ask me for a certificate right before we had intercourse. So really, it was a 50-50 thing, we were both irresponsible with taking care of our health. But no, she framed it as if it was entirely my fault, that I was a piece of shit and that I was egotistical and exposing her to STDs almost on purpose. For the first time in my life, I called out for help to my parents, and they gave me a much, much needed different perspective on the matter (different to my own echo chamber fueled by her manipulation throughout the entire relatioship, at least). And so I managed to come out of that hole. Because again she had succesfully got to me, I was feeling like a piece of shit and I was actually asking for help to my parents to get tested. But with that help and time itself I realized that I was not a piece of shit, and that I owed her no apology, and that I would not tolerate more abuse and manipulation from her. So I cut off all contact with her. As much as I could, that is. I'd still see her at gatherings, and she'd throw shit at me constantly, but never revealing why. Our friends started feeling uneasy about that and eventually asked her about it (on a day I was not present, of course) She took the opportunity and tried to out me as a piece of shit on that friend group by victimizing herself and framing the story as me being a piece of shit again, and completely omitting the fact that she never asked me for an STD test on the countless oportunities she had for that before the fact. She managed to manipulate some people, who were not much of a loss to me when cutting them off in the the aftermath, but some others had enough integrity to see through her ruse, call her out on her bullshit and stay on my side. As of today, I have another girflriend who is very caring and a great person, and I also have a job, things that my ex has explicitly said to be mad about to my friends during her little operation to out me as an awful person, being a clear indication that she does not give that much of a fuck about STDs in the first place and that she's just resentful and very jealous of me moving on and leaving her behind.

He knew what was going on and played the cops. He knew he killed her! He knew he was going away for it. He wanted it to look like an accident and he had no intention of killing her, when probably that was his intent from the get go. The police knew he did it, but he pretended she was still alive to look like an innocent little girl-friend beater. The guy is homicidal psychopath and should have gotten life with no parole. Him saying, “She’s dead, really?” Worst acting ever. The cops should have told him “She's was alive, got revived in the hospital, and told them you were trying to kill her. Here’s her statement, is she lying?” Have him take a lie detector test which he will, “fail.” Get him to fess up to avoid the death penalty.
@cantfindmykeys Жыл бұрын
@@prant8998 That's an interesting thought. Maybe they should have told him she was in the ICU and yeah, how would he react to that, I wonder? The thing about polygraphs, though. They are complete BS. Pseudo science. All they do is measure vitals and it's really up to the person administering the test to guestimate whether or not someone is being deceptive. But you can do that with good instincts just as well. What they hope will happen is that a lie detection exam will create enough intimidation and stress that the experience will help the cops get a confession from someone when they don't have enough evidence to prosecute. If polygraphs had any merit the results would be admissible in court, but they aren't. Unfortunately. It's too bad nobody has invented a legitimate lie detector. By now you would think somebody would have done that.

Aggressors/attackers always say things like "she freaked out"- as if the woman were being crazy or demanding. They gloss over their own actions, presenting the victim's reactions as being inexplicable displays of excessive emotion. As a victim, it's important not to fall for this intentional confusion: you remember damn well the specifics of what was done to you, and in what sequence. Somehow, the perpetrators' memories have a way of becoming very fuzzy and clueless when it comes to that part just before their targets "freak out."

Unfortunately this also works the other way around. People "freak out" violently after reaching breaking point due to prolonged shit treatment by their narcissist partners. Sounds like my ex husband said to the psychologist we went to when he said "Well I don't go in bars and beat people up, I only beat her up and she said things she should've. Then got up and left the room saying " I don't have to listen to anyone on how I handle her " That's when the Dr said you aren't going home, so he called my brother in another state to come get me as I made a list of some clothes and my brother got them and my car not telling him my ex where I was going except to another dr. My Dr. told me he will kill you at some point. We got divorced. Then married a lawyer, special ops marine. He was so good and protective of me. Only had to get in my ex s face once. I don't what he said, but it worked!

Sounds like he’s brutally honest to his detriment (well, honest to a degree) because he’s never been held accountable or had to suffer any real consequences that his money couldn’t get him out of him. He didn’t even realize how badly he was incriminating himself.

I am not upset that an abuser puts himself at the scene of the crime, admits to breaking down a locked door while wasted, implicates himself, admits that she told him to go away, admits to shaking and choking her, provides a motive, admits to not calling for help, and admits to taking her laptop as collateral. He should be honest and get what he deserves. That being said I do believe that his reaction was genuine and did not think that she died. I am so sad for Yeardley. Such a beautiful young woman.

I have no sympathy or empathy for him he assaulted her and killed her. He’s just trying to make himself the victim
@dowhatiwantc7637 Жыл бұрын
No the reaction was only because he found out he is in trouble. He thought she was alive and had testified, so he was trying to do damage control. This guy is a L and I hope sees he’ll

The reason why he was giving the cops so much information, by explaining what he did at the crime scene and to the victim, is because he most likely thought that the victim had reported him for beating her up, or at the very least that she was still alive.

Ah once the JCS video started I remembered this one. The lead detective gives the other guy a look a few times that is just bloody withering. The timeline at the start of the original video showing how she arrived on the scene of the crime something like 8 minutes after being woken up by a phone call about it says all you need to know about her dedication and ability.

The only thing Yardley ever did wrong was date this incredible waste of human skin.And I'm not even going to suggest any of this was her fault. She tolerated this plank for 2 years, she moved on, they were no longer dating. She wasn't cheating, except in his malfunctioning mind. That's the only question I have: how could she tolerate this privileged, moronic child? Listening to him recount the crime as if he was in any way justified was one of the most excruciating things I've ever listened to, and I appreciate Bruce Rivers being our spirit animal in this.

Abusers are pros at getting their tentacles into someone's brain. Anyone who doesn't understand that has never been through it. Never had an abusive ex, thank god, but I did have an emotionally manipulative and abusive best friend for a while. The type of person who would freak out over any tiny perceived slight and then threaten to kill themselves if you tried to leave. It was awful.

My neighbour once got beaten up by her boyfriend I had no idea what was happening. all the banging, are they moving furniture around in the middle of the night? Until I heard a faint "help!" How could she be silent until then? Seemed surreal. The cops were called, but then, just shooed away. Her face looked awful for days. I have never been friends with the kind of people who could casually describe an assault like this. As a newspaper reporter I often dealt with police and all of them were afraid of violence.Would not want to get involved in a fight. But this accused wasn't afraid, because he only beat up women, who could not defend themselves.

It’s scary how normal he saw his abuse to be. It shows in how he had no hesitation whatsoever explaining what he did- Centering himself as a rational actor as he describes his abuse. What do you have to have done in the past, what would have to be ignored by his family and law enforcement to believe you have no culpability like this?
