Thanks James. Castle is a top player right now. You might be able to control other escs a little better but the castle will hold up and not kill your wallet.

Looking forward to seeing how you go with this motor. I ran the 78/26 combo on my B6 and damaged a few gears. But I think there are some other issues with my setup other than mesh and too much power. Kimbrough make a 32p spur also which I have getting delivered so that extra tooth size may help with some flex and be a little more forgiving. Looking forward to seeing how you go.

i saw your posts. i have the carbon plate at 3mm adn 4mm thickness for the breakout..they also have an aluminum version out too. think that 4mm carbon should hold it tight. these motors are torque monsters..made exactly for less then 150ft..so it should be interesting. keep us updated

I’m running the mm8s and Thais motor on my bandit . And I’m running a 76/28-29 and I’m running the Ford pinto body on my bandit and this thing rips !!! I’m loving the combo it’s doing great for me and a couple of my guys also .

I am I picked up a Losi roller yesterday also going to start the new build for out law . Since my bandit is now the “proper” wheelbase 🙄 some guys where crying last week when we meet up to race . Mind you my best from the bandit is a 2.60 at 53mph on a soft tune lol nothing crazy

Your 6900 and my 7700 are slightly smaller. For my rear engine chassis I’ll stick w/the 7700kv for now but if I had a mid chassis I’d definitely swap to the new heavier motor.

The 6900 is a 540 motor. The 1412 6400kv is a 550 motor. More available power and torque. Gear up.

A mamba monster x6s is more suited for our application. I’m running it and castle recommends it or castle mamba monster x8s

I was thinking of using a motor and ECS combo that I have a mamba X with a 1410 for poor censored castle creations 3800kv . Would this be ok to start with in a in a team associated DR 10 M builders kit.

It would fit and get you going. Need to work on gearing and keep expectations reasonable. Won’t be the fastest. But fun to learn on. Then swap the motor out.

There’s nothing in the nprc rules that states what kind of motor can be used. This motor is the same size as a 540 but longer so this increases the stator volume which increases torque. Good stuff.

I have the 2.5 in mine now. 3.5 would be fine as well. The properties of the esc just makes these motors run cooler and more efficient when geared correctly. Those same motors used to completely heat soak my rx8

I don't run a mamba monster x. But I do have one. What I have been running is a ztw 220 amp. Ran it with a 2 turn trinity monster it handle just fine but I did melt the negative lug on battery it was smoke that day.

You won’t be sorry. And besides it’s the only esc that can handle the abuse and these other guys like r1 won’t warranty your esc and maclan charges 150 for a refresh. And it’s 3 year old tech. The castle just dropped last summer. It’s the newest on the block. That tsr drk is the same esc in a different wrapper and a bigger cap. So lots to think about. Hit me up for anything

Hey man I'm really new to the RC the only reason why run pretty decent is my Drag Racing Experience.. with the motor being limited with adding timing , you can only run the ESC timing.. correct using the gearing and it can only spin a Max of 75,000 RPM ? am I understanding correctlyand changing to this type of motor 4 pole how is it going to compete with the high RPM 2 polel Motors .. these are all questions I do not know the answer to thank you.. theoretically if you could plant the tire.. when you shorten the activation range you should be able to go quicker correct..

i think their thinkingi is theyve built this to be ran and geared for say 150ft so the torque of the 4 pole and stator design should give us the power we need to make the speed for that distance. all these other ROAR motors we use have rotors changed out and the like and i guess you can say have been altered to perform in such as manner with only 2 poles. its proven to work but this design with the 4 pole has yet to be vetted FOR OUR PURPOSE but i see guys hitting hard online and the mmx8s can handle all that heat that its going to make where a smaller esc..DRK..just couldnt spin it as well since it techincally has at least 2 times the resistance against it with the extra poles. hobbywing was the only oyher brand that used to release motors based on kv and stator size but i think they switch to turns for marketing . all of castles motors have been this way forever but this is their first at this size and build. so they took their big can speed run techonology and were able to fit it into a 540 sized can.

So when I was running 2.2 per day at 90k at a sanwa ramp I had my cheat range from I think 10k-50k. So trying to get it all in as fast as it could like I was doing with my drk and my rx8. I decided to extend my range out so timing came in slower and lower the ramp speed so my throttle ramps was around 1.8 seconds. Timing 6.8k to 75k. I went .2 faster. So a combos of the input signal and the timing algorithm gave me lower rpm but faster times and more speed at less rpm. Without some superior logging we will never know why this is the case. Can only speculate that the gradual build created less heat less resistance and a smoother throttle signal that allowed the castle algorithm to apply timing in a better manner. I can’t prove any of this without data logging of the true rc control signal and the timing algorithms but I’m basing this off of my fpv racing quad experience where I have the ability to see what is really going on between the esc and the control signal loop. Sounds like a lot and fuzzy math but it has to be buried in there. That’s why the sanwa is able to deliver such great results with any esc. Wheww that’s. A lot :)

And I go through at 88,000 I want to shorten it to 70,000 and see like tightening up the slue rate if the car will rev accelerate quicker . Yeah play with that some and see what happens. I was obviously spinning but not enough to be logged. Yeah our cars basically need flight controllers and we need something better then pwm. A true serial uart connection like sbus from receiver to esc. These quad guys turn 10 second laps now so if you think about it we are not that far off.

Only motor rules are for 13.5 or 17.5 classes. SE/Outlaw is any 1/10 motor you can get to work on 2s.

It can but rotor will probably give out quicker. Most people hit around 50k rpm on 2s and do as low as 1.7s so far so idk why 3s would be needed
