The German (more often in the background) and the English sit together really well, and in a way I've never seen in a film. The world is German, but English comes forward when there is important dialogue.

Exactly, and I like the idea that the "world" is German. It's fitting that it wasn't subtitled, since all the German in the film is just the 'chatter' of the many, which are always words without weight or meaning.

'A Hidden Life' is the best film of all time. I drop down to tears even while watching the trailers again and again, it's cinematic, poetic, visually epic and stirring mastery at it's best. Hands down, Mallick is the best in the game.

I’ve been a fan of August Diehl since “Love the Hard Way” with Adrian Brody way back in 2003. He has such a screen presence about him.

What a great looking movie!!! I didn’t know I was such a fan of Malick. Not until I watch knight of cups. Then I see malicks name in credits. And I think “ok, I’ve heard this name before” I really enjoyed knight of cups. And during it, I feel like I see movie like this before. I had recently watched To the Wonder. So then I look up Malick filmography. I see New World and Thin Red Line!!! Folks mostly prefer private Ryan instead of Thin Red Line. But Thin Red Line was just amazing. And New World? Yeah. Such a great movie too!! Now I can not wait till I see this movie.

I just watched this. It's an amazing film. It should be much better known than it is.

I haven't actually seen this yet & was iffy, bc tragic dramas depress me usually. But it looks like it has fun & energetic scenes as well. So, I'm more intrigued now after watching this interview just now. I may just check it out!!! 🌸

Wow, the woman was way more beautiful in the movie without any makeup and natural hair, as in real life.
