Age of empires is how I discovered that animals were where meat comes from... I was 4-5 years old and my uncle was playing Aoe2 and I had asked him what he was doing.. He must have been in the dark age and said something like "gathering sheep to collect food" I then said "You eat animals?!? and he said "Yeah thats where meat comes from.. from animals" the memory is very fuzzy except for the part where I ran into the other room yelling "AUNTY CHERRYL!?! UNCLE DAVID EATS MEAT! Not yelling that he eats animals, but that he eats meat... Definitly top 3 best memories. My little brain really struggled to comprehend the information I had just recieved xD the whole situation was absolutely golden. I still have his Aoe/Aoe2 + expansions on disk... I don't play the game anymore because my satallite internet can't online game and you can only play the Cpu so many times... but here I am 20 years later... My uncle passed away a while back and my aunt is now nearly 70 and soon I will be the only person left with this memory and that makes me just a bit sad.. Anyway, thats my origin story lol I think it hits me a bit hard because I now live in that house and I watch these videos in the same room/same corner and on his pc that I inherited... pheewww damn T90 way to make me depressed haha House is going on the market for sale next year and a good 9/10 chance I will end up living in my car....phewwww...alright..back to LEL lol

The Celts sent to battle yell "Cogadh!" ('To war!') so it's sounds like they're saying 'co-go' but that first consonant just isn't very clear. _'POGOOO!'_ evokes much funnier images of troops bouncing into the fray though. GG, hate this map gen 11 Post Script: 23:06 SotL checked the finer points of hill bonus a while back, and found that the center point of a building foundation is what the game is using to determine elevation. Since the center of that castle is on the hill, the entire castle is considered so. In that video it was demonstrated that even a single elevated tile counts so long as the building is centered over it.

This was one of the greatest LEL games ever played. The grit and resolve from Red was incredible.

That was a really good dynamic back and forth. Though blue making the houses as part of the stone wall killed me. Yeah, normal stone wall wouldn't have done much, but houses negates the whole thing.

I've been playing this game since 1999 and that's the first time I'm hearing about cracked terrain making any difference on how much buildings take damage. That's just crazy how this game has hidden modifiers!

Well, quick play is not ranked, is the first thing to know. If you’re interested in ranked, just play ranked. It’s better anyway

I remember how I would play this game back in the day, one villager on each of food, wood, stone and gold until the feudal age, no armies, just howdoyouturnthison, one of each building, research everything, only one villager building, always freaked out when I heard the monk converting sound, but was never worried when I heard the being attacked sound.

The commentary on this game was hilarious, it’s like T-90 had a long annoying day, decided to drink some beers, stopped drinking just before hitting belligerency and then started casting the game. :)

FYI onager roughly translates to "ass wild" so if you were making a verb out of 'onage' you're essentially saying assing

got to agree with you about the ranked ELO at the end ive just started playing again after 10+ years and ive played 10 games lost all 10 and im at 530 ELO and struggling its a bit much to be started at 1k ELO

I tried starting ranked - im probs like 300-400 elo but starting at 1000 is too much, spent 4 games getting my ass kicked and noped out

Blue should have won but never took advantage of his lead! He was so far ahead in early/mid castle age. Never boomed, was slow on the push, never made halbs (was making two handed swordsmen instead wtf). Sad cause I love celts.
