Hey Phil. Just wanted to tell you it was nice meeting you a week or so ago. I felt bad when I left as I forgot to tell you that you have a beautiful chateau and I’m so happy you continue to live there and share the chateau with all us subscribers.

One can only wonder how many trees will fall during the coming winter storms. You'll have piles of firewood everywhere. For now you're making great progress. Grounds look nice! 👍👍👍

Well done, really good progress this week, especially that big tree. I like when the Chateau owners take us on a small road trip through the French countryside and small towns.

In the camping area, make a stack with all the wood you don’t need for the house and the campers will use it up. Also you won’t have to transport wood to far. You probably already thought of that.

Those trees are massive. Even with a chainsaw that must have a long job. It is amazing how a wood chipper can easily compact all the branches

If you have a fire pit anywhere, or even just in the camping area, some of those logs could be put around it for extra seating.
@HensOnly4 ай бұрын
A campground would not be complete without a fire pit!!! Phil can stack wood somewhere on the outside perimeter of the campground so one can take as much wood to burn in the firepit. I love that idea of having a campground for visitors! Next thing you know Phil might rig up a homemade outhouse (hole in the ground, if that is allowed in France) so the campers do not have to go into the chateau for bathrooms.

I think you have the right idea. Yes it's more expensive up front but your time is worth money too. Do it once and it will last a long time versus having to spend a day or two every year patching when you need to use that bit that day.

That's the problem I have with the homemade weed killer, you have to spray it constantly. I'm not a fan of chemicals but I also don't have the time to spray for weeds 10-20 times a season. So I use the commercial weed killers and spray once, maybe twice per season. But I also don't' have a moat around my house and have to worry about the chemicals killing off the fish. What ever happened with those nutria (sp.) things? I haven't' seen them mentioned for a while so di I miss a video where you were able to finally get rid of them or are they still there?

Temporary fixes never last long enough and what's the point. Really, it isn't a good use of our valuable time. Glad you seem to be more organised with your mind. ;-) Love your work. Feel proud at how much you can do on your own. Makes me remember when was young. But, my aches and pains will not deter me from my jobs. I like getting old too. go for gold Phil!

Every video you talk about what’s got to be done, what’s broken and needs to be fixed. You seem to be going around in circles and not achieving your goals. Love to see you concentrate on one project, finish it then move onto the next. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with all the tasks needing attention. You’re only one person, hang in there and one by one you’ll see results.
@ChateauLife4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately with so much to do and you have to work to others schedules (people being free, parts deliveries, weather) that is what happens; it isn’t neat and easy and you juggle a lot The difference is if it all comes together at the end, not if it was neat and easy on the way!

Hi Phil love the new rule! Follow it ❤ The steel plate will pay you back ten fold. Didn’t realise that no mans land was the camping ground, it has a lot of potential. Wild flower garden comes to mind, little to no maintenance, just one path to walk through 🌺 Any luck with the paint websites I sent? Good luck with breaking down the tree and be safe. Cheers Judith 🦋

I said it before but if it was my chateau, I would have built, or would build an overhang from the wall where the bar is to about 4 or 5 meters deep. Gives a lot of shade, no weeds will grow there and …..just a nice place to sit and relax

Love your work ethic of taking care of business at the chateau. It takes time to figure how to sort and prioritize things that need to be done. I too run into the same problem of repairing equipment just to get a task done. Love the idea of turning the old horse trailer into a mobile bar. A KZbinr I follow had done the same thing. He had major work in stabilizing it before customizing it. His channel is called Woodness Goodness. His completed project turned out swimmingly.

You seem to be 1 step forward and 10 steps back. I hate to be the person speaking the truth but a chateau is too big for one person. I know you love the property but you don’t have the money or man power to do the old girl justice. You would be better off finding a lovely cabin on a lake and living a care free life rather than always chasing your tail. So a win for you and a win for the chateau.
