Hi. My concern about the Catholic faith is that it seems different than what the Bible teaches. For example, Catholics seem to unanimously agree that, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, is baptized Catholic, and partakes of Catholic communion MIGHT be saved." That is, are there any points that you disagree with, that are not Catholic truths taught by your teachers? Yet, these points of doctrine seem universally accepted by Catholic teachers and lay people alike! Yet, the Apostle Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord SHALL be saved." Is this not a totally different gospel? Moreover, Jesus affirms Paul's words, saying, "Ask and you shall receive" and "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him." Hence, simply you ask God and the Holy Spirit will transform you; you will be born again, saved and cleansed from your sin. Paul warns us, "Whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." Yet, what will you do with Romans 10.8, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord SHALL be saved'? So many Catholics, in answering this, blatantly contradict Paul! Some say that baptism is the same as 'calling on the Lord.' Others have said that they will be 'temporarily' saved. I hope that you will not contradict Paul! I hope that you will know Christ! As it is written, "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@kenshiloh I can see why you say that, but instead of trying to figure out scripture and then trying to determine if Catholic church is right. Determine if papacy is real and if it is….listen to that Catholic church. If papacy is real, we should all be Catholic. Papacy is real. Check out book Pope Peter by Heschmeyer

@@johnyang1420 Hi John. You say we should determine if the papacy if real? Have you done the research and reached a conclusion? I have too. For example, the Apostle Paul said that even if he, Paul, were to preach a different gospel, he should be accursed. Hence, it is a good thing to look at Scripture and compare it to Catholic doctrine. In teaching, there are six levels of logic called, "Bloom's Taxonomy" and comparison is the second lowest rung of logic. In other words, there is little chance of making a logical error when it is simple comparison. For example, Catholics teach that baptism is necessary for salvation (CCC 1257). Yet, Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10.13)." Therefore, put in the form of Romans 10.13, Catholics believe, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord and is baptized shall be saved." Clearly, it is a different gospel. In that sense, we can say that the papacy is not valid, as it contradicts the Apostle Paul. I hope that you will get to know Christ, Who died for your sins! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@kenshiloh To me, it's simply Matthew 16:18-19. Jesus said, "you are Peter..." He didn't say anything about, "You'll do for the moment, but in a few centuries I'm gonna bring in a guy named John Calvin, and he'll really understand what I'm saying tonight." He didn't even say, "You'll do for the moment, but there's this other guy named Paul, and he's the real authority..." He said, "You are Peter..." Now, Jesus was either telling the truth, in which case all Protestantism is a sinful heresy, or He wasn't, in which case everything else He said is up for debate as well.
@kenshiloh2 жыл бұрын
@@RexKarrs Hi. Thanks so much for taking the time to write. Jesus said, "You are Peter..." and from those five words, you say that I should be a Catholic? Suppose you take me through your geneologies and convince me; should I trust my own conclusion? It is written, "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding." I simply believe what Christ said, but am leary of anything you might try to add to the teachings of the Lord of glory! Moreover, Christ says, "...and upon this rock." Now, 'Peter' means rock, but Christ is the chief cornerstone. In fact, the 'rock' on which we, as Christians, stand is Peter's confession, that Jesus is the Christ. In fact, is it not true that Peter's confession is the 'rock' that the church is built upon? Furthermore, is it not written that we are to give all glory to God and none to men? Forgive me, but in all respect, was Peter not a wretched sinner, saved by grace - a sinful man who betrayed Christ in His hour need? Should we lift up a wretch or the Lord Jesus Christ? I think that Peter would agree with me! For example, unlike your Pope, Peter did not allow people to bow to him! As it is written, "As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”" Peter is only a man! Christ is the rock of ages! I doubt that I will convince of your error concerning your, would you call it, veneration(?) of Peter. To me, he is just a great brother in Christ. In fact, how did Paul treat Peter? It is written, "When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned." Moreover, Paul wrote of the apostles, "As for those who were held in high esteem-whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism-they added nothing to my message." If God shows no favoritism, why favor Peter? Yet, my big concern is, have you been born again? For example, Jesus, referring to the Holy Spirit, said, "Whoever believes in me will have rivers of living water bubbling up to eternal life." Conversely, if you do not know God personally, if He is a distant figure, He would say to you, "Depart from Me; I never knew you." Do you know Christ? If not, you can meet Him - just by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

If I weren't Catholic, I'd look for the Church that the world despises, for the world despised Jesus, and he would be there. - Fulton Sheen Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.". Things seemed to be going pretty well. That is until Jesus said “For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood,dwelleth in me, and I in him.” This was too much for many of his disciples and “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” Jesus turns to the 12 and asks, “Will ye also go away? Vs 61, Jesus did not back down, for He said, "Does this offend you?" it offends protestants. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Jn 20:21, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." Jn 17:18, "Even as thou hast sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." Jn 17:22-23, "And the glory that thou hast given Me, I have given to Matt. 28, 18-20: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore. and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Jesus says to the crowd, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved." But in reference to the same people, Jesus immediately follows with "He who does not believe will be condemned." This demonstrates that one can be baptized and still not be a believer. This disproves the Protestant argument that one must be a believer to be baptized. There is nothing in the Bible about a "believer's baptism." "Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior," or "Ask Jesus into your heart" isn't the biblical answer. It’s important to be saved from hell, damnation, and the stain of original sin, but what are we saved for? We are saved for union with Christ. Our salvation began when we were born again through baptism and God’s own Divine Life was restored in our souls, making us like Adam and Eve were in the Garden before the Original (first) Sin. As we go through life, we are united with Christ through the Sacraments he left as gifts for us, especially through Penance (forgiveness of our sins committed since Baptism) and the Eucharist (partaking of God’s own Life, His own Divine Nature, 2 Peter 1:4) - until that day when we are truly united with Him in heaven. Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31-46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell. (For the teaching on venial (non-deadly) and mortal (deadly) sins, see 1 John 5:16-17) What I must do to be saved: *I must be baptized with water and the Spirit. Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5, I Peter 3:20-21. (Exceptions: [1] If I desire Baptism but die before I can be baptized with water and the Spirit, God accepts my desire to be baptized, and [2] If I am killed (martyred) because of my faith, but I have not had the opportunity to be baptized, God accepts my death as my baptism, called the Baptism of Blood). * I must do the will of God the Father. Matthew 7:21 * I must keep the Commandments of God. Matthew 5:19-20, Matthew 7:21, Matthew 19:17, 1 Timothy 6:14, and others. * I must accept the Cross (suffering). Matthew 10:38, Matthew 16:24-25, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23, Luke 14:27. Phil 1:29, and others. * I must be a member of God's true church. Acts 2:46-47. * I must confess my sins. James 5:16, I John 1:9, John 20:19-23 * I must heed the words of St. Peter, the first Pope. Acts 11:13-14, Acts 15:7. * I must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. John 6:51-58, I Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-30. * I must do unto others as I would have them do unto me and love my neighbor as myself. I must feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick and those in prison or give other aid to those in need. Luke 10:33 ff, Mt 25:31-46. "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God" Hebrews 13:16. Good works don’t save us, but we will be judged by them. *I must strive to be holy. "Strive for peace with everyone and for that holiness without which no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 *I must endure (persevere) to the end. Matthew 10:22, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13. And ... ? What else must I do? #432 The name "Jesus" signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation, so that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."😜

Because when I want to show someone a Catholic video on bible verses with a Catholic perspective, I see a laundry list of protestant videos talking about verses that go against the Catholic church or have different translations........... but find ZERO Catholic ones, and it honestly made me angry and made me wanna make ones myself, but I know I'll screw it up since I'm still new at learning all this and don't have the tools to do so. So i wanted to beg you for help. :)

In short, salvation is simply knowing and loving God, of being filled with the Holy Spirit, and you meet God by asking! Moreover, if you have fellowship with God now, you will not have any doubt of your eternal destination as, "The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God." Do not forget the qualifier, "If indeed the Holy Spirit dwells within you." On personal note, for the past 44 years, I can say that I have not had even one second of doubt that I know the Lord and am bound for heaven - not even for a second! You can have total assurance as well. Is the Catholic gospel different than Paul's? It seems so obvious that it is. I hope that you will obey God and not the traditions of people. I hope that you will have a personal encounter with Christ - simply by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Making bussiness of faith, making money, priests and bishops etc who lived a non Christian life like going to hookers, alcohol, and unfortuanatly child abuse. They didn't live sober they lived like kings in Rome. Luther wanted also the Bible available in normal language not in Latin only. The Catholic church didn't like it and therefore Luther was kicked out of the church. THEN he started a new type of church. Next to that, be aware that thanks to this Reformation period YOU can read the Bible also in English. Stay with facts not your opinion or interpretation.

Adolf Hitler could not say it better than Luther, who was a 100 percent anti-semite. Read his books. Luther wrote to demolish all the synagogues. Put them on fire, just like their schools. Destroy all the houses of Jews. I can continue, but Luther was crazier than the SS of Himmler. Did Luther forget that our sweet Lord, Jesus., and the apostles were Jews???????
