You remind of my Dad. He had a soft spot for cats. When he passed my family took on his cats along with my family’s cats. Like you said you can’t save them all but we try our best to to what we can. One of the main things is to spay and neuter as many as you can. Rehousing to someone who you know will take care of them. Thank you for being the person that cares.

Hi Brenda :-) Glad to hear your Dan loved cats too and you could take them on :-) Yes the shelters did explain that with a lot of adult strays they can only desex them and release them back on the streets if they are full capacity. The shelters do a wonderful job but they have limited resources like anything. Thanks for watching and supporting :-)

I was never much of a cat person until Hubby picked up a ginger kitty from the middle of the road. Its been 3 years. Hubby's gone and that little orange devil has me wrapped around his little paw completely. I've rehomed more cats and dogs from the trailer park near us than I can count. They move in, get a animal, move out and leave the animal. Low life's are what Hubby called them. Thank you for helping the little ones.

I'm glad you were able to help as many kitties as you have been. Strays often won't even take to being indoors so I think the decision to not bring the two cats into one and risk them being euthanized was a sound one. Unfortuantely, no, you can't save them all. It's sad how these homes are lost and it's even sadder when you realize how many living things are displaced by the tear downs. The birds will move on and fly new places to nest. Cats are resilient; dogs less so. But also trees and plants out and out killed. I loved that first 70s home. It was beautiful and one of the prettiest parts was the row of flowers when you showed the view of the golf course. That was a nice array of flowers planted on the house's side of the fence and you just know they were planted with love. Keep up the good work.
@urbexindigo51643 жыл бұрын
Hi BD :-) Yeah I had time to weigh up the situation and speak to various shelters and neighbors and it seems this was an appropriate outcome and they are happy and healthy :-) Yep that first 70s home was in immaculate condition. Purely sold for profit to a developer.

I paused to comment too soon. Daisy has a nice fluffy tail too but mother or sister, I can't tell either. I'm so glad you made a happy ending for both these cats. I'm getting on in years too. Will be 64 in February. I wish I could give a cat a home but alas I'm too ill and disabled to take proper care of them so it would not be a kindness. You only should if you can take proper care of them. Believe me, I have to keep reminding myself of that because I do love the kitty cats.

You are a good person for looking after these precious cats. My family took in a litter of 5 kittens years ago. Sadly all gone now. 3 were kept in the family and 2 were sent to a shelter, where I am sure they were very well looked after. This wasn’t a place where they would be put down. Cats (and dogs. Any animal for that matter) are precious and disgracefully get a lot of abuse. There should be more people like you in the world 😺

When i was younger was known as the cat lady had 15 of my own and took in strays and their babies, and found homes. They melt your heart. You have a way with them, even the ferals seemed to warm up to you and trust. What I find about feral cats is surprisingly after they are in a home setting (strictly inside) for a couple of weeks, they realize how good it is and adapt quite well, after they're spayed or neutered.

You did everything you possibly could have done for them and I know the cats appreciated what you did and looked forward to seeing you every day. You went above and beyond for each and every one of them. I believe they loved you for your care. I have taken care of outside cats now for over 14 years. Fed them, given shelter and found homes (good) for kittens through adult cats. I myself took two kittens in with me. These guys are my world whether they are outside or inside. As for the cats; Well all I can say is ... Paul, you're a really special person you are! 💛 So kind and doing the best you can for those less fortunate. I absolutely loved seeing your cats; they're both gorgeous. 😍 I used to have a cat that travelled with me in a "cat tent" similar to yours. If he was loose in the car he would lay across the dashboard. 😂 He's gone to the "next realm" now or wherever cats go. I miss him. Do you have a patreon page? It must be costing you a fortune feeding all the Urbex cats.🐈🐈⬛🐈

Hi Claire! :-) Thanks for the kind and supportive comments, glad you had a cat who loved to travel also! hehe :-) I dont have any Patreon set up, the cat food is not breaking my bank account and it is well worth the spend :-) Cheer for watching

My town back in Oregon had more than it’s share of feral cats for a town of less than 400. The shelters were always overflowing with cats and adult ferals are not adopted. Because they couldn’t rehome them all they did have a program where they trapped them, neutered them, and then returned them to the same area. The tip of one ear was clipped to identify those that were already neutered when they did the next roundup. While it didn’t get those cats homes it did reduce the number of kittens being born. We had 2 litters of kittens born in our barn and by catching them early we were able to tame them in just a couple of days. A local feed store helped rehome them as lots of people needed barn cats to keep down the mice. We have one of the feed store kittens still after 14 years. Very happy to be inside when she wants to be but we learned what happens if you try to keep her from going outside and it wasn’t pretty. She comes and goes as she pleases and is an excellent mouser.

Long story, but just now playing catch up and watching this. First the houses - I actually liked the 70s one and I was so dismayed by the second one. You can see by the photos how well maintained the family had kept it and it was such a nice home. The last home was a cute, cozy, little place. And now the cats! What a kind and caring man you are, Paul! Loved the story of Noah and Daisy and was so glad you were able to give Noah a home and that Nikolai has as generous a heart as his dad. They look happy with each other and content in their home. And I was glad when you said Daisy had found a lovely home of her own, as well. Daisy seemed to have been abandoned by her humans and was missing that connection. The heartbreakers, for me, were the black and white cats. So sad that their world just got narrower and smaller until it completely disappeared. And how frightening the huge, loud machinery must have been, with the ground shaking as things fell. You were the constant in their lives through that and the one thing the more experienced cat could depend on so he could carry on being the support for the other cat. Thank you for being the lovely person you are and looking out for these cats you encounter. 😻😻

Hi Lucinda :-) Thankyou for the kind words and support. Yes glad to help any animals along the way for sure and the black and white cats definitely I felt they needed that constant reassurance that food would be available. Not an ideal situation for those ones but they are alive and well. :-) Noah and Nicolai say hi haha :-)

Thank you for caring about those cats. I am feeding 3 cats, one (Smokey) belongs to a neighbour who moved and is supposed to be taking the cat but its been nearly 12 months since she moved (I have been feeding him for about 6 years because his owner didn't give him enough food), another just turned up here about 6 weeks ago, and the third one is now my cat. She will have been here for 3 years on boxing day, Missy and her brother were about 7 weeks old when they arrived here. Boxing day morning I went outside to feed Smokey and the 2 black and white kittens were sitting next to the back wheel of my car very frightened, they were starving hungry and the little boy was injured he died about 6 days later. Missy took months before she was game enough to come inside. She is the funniest cat I have ever owned, she makes me laugh all the time with the funny little things she does.

You are such a wonderful caring person. We live in a rural Texas area and people drive out here to drop off unwanted kitties and puppies. That's how we have managed to accumulate 12 cats and 1 tiny little chihuahua. We have all the cats spayed or neutered and all of them get vaccinated and live inside with us.

Hi Paul, Love the Cats of Urbex, truly appreciate your heart and caring nature. I've volunteered for a couple of cat and animal shelters (both no kill) in Vic on and off over many years, currently I'm owned by 3 rescue cats and one rescue chicken. Genuine kindness in any form is never wrong, especially true in regard to animals. I believe you gave the right course of action for those black and white cats. What a lovely happenstance you found and saved little Noah (and his Mum) at your stunning old art deco flat.
