Probably a lot because I’m pretty sure that back then claustrophobia was a big fear for the people so the movie directors probably thought, “hey how about we add a very claustrophobic scenario and add giant f**ing demons in it :D”

Despite the lackluster "monster" and the very poor lighting, I must say the sound design (at least for the deaths) was pretty good! The second death was particularly nasty, I'd say it was the best one of the movie.
