1:35 it might seem dumb at first glance but this is a tactic that companies often use, when you invest into a country that most other companies aren't investing in it means that if the country ever became stable you could easily dominate the market for a product, at the same time they don't need to pay nearly as high wages as outside the countries so it is in a lot of ways cheaper, it's a pretty scummy practice

Huge difference between cement and concrete. Cement is a powder that you mix with rock, sand, and other ingredients like plasticizer and fibers to create a finished product called concrete. So when people say cement, they usually are talking about concrete. It is not a cement mixer. It’s a concrete mixer. The pavement outside is not cement. It’s concrete. i appreciate how the video title says "found" instead of "that was". these days you really don't know which side you are supposed to be on anymore. everyone is a liar and a criminal

First seeing the title I thought this would have been a video about the blackmarket for sand used in cement thats been a problem for decades.

As someone who works in cement, it's nice to hear someone say positive things about it and not "YoU'rE dEsTrOyInG tHe PlAnEt." And as a rival company to Holcim-Lafarge, it does not at all suprise me that they would do this. Although if you asked me who I would have guessed complied with a terrorist group, I would have guessed Cemex.

Side note, pretty much everyone who works in cement has at some point theorized how they would dispose of a dead body. That's what I thought this video was going to be about before I watched it. Why would we think that? Because it would be so easy to just put a body into the preheater tower. Also why did the plant in Syria have so many stages? You need a bunch in Kansas and missouri cause our stuff is wet and needs dried out more, but in syria it should already be dry. Probably designed by FLS. smh

"Sometimes hard choices need to be made in the name of cement" is a funnier sentence than it has any right to be.

There used to be a lafarge warehouse and barges came through my town regularly. Dont know where they went. Interesting to see their history
