I wish this franchise did more with Ceratopsians, they are such a cool group of animals. Also random but it annoys me how the Spinoceratops in the show have no nostrils lol
@joshuavis27364 ай бұрын
I’m sorry you’ve gotta be joking right? They’ve got holes in their frills but not nostrils. Sinoceratops is such a weird and frankly bad design

Maybe Tyrannosauroids of the Jurassic franchise: -Tyrannosaurus rex -Tarbosaurus (Camp Cretaceous Hidden Adventure) -Teratophoneus (Carcass in Fallen Kingdom) -Albertosaurus (Jurassic Park Trespasser video game that’s semi canon) -Moros intrepidus (Dominion) -Proceratosaurus (Shown in brochure map and in embryonic storage label in original movie)

Is sad that they don't have Styracosaurus in the jurassic franchise, because they are very iconic.
my most favorite Ceratopsian is the Sinoceratops. always liked the way the creature looked.

Triceratops, Styracosaurus, and Microceratus all made their first debut in the Jurassic Park novel. Styracosaurus was mentioned, but they weren’t prominent. Microceratus were free-roaming, they hung out in trees by the river while eating berries. The adult Triceratops were seen, but they didn’t do anything. There was a baby trike that Lex named "Ralph". Jurassic Park: the game had a young trike called Bakhita, and an adult called Lady Margaret. Lego Jurassic World, when you play the trike level and see Dr. Harding, he says, "I named this sick girl Sarah after my daughter, but don't tell her I named a several thousand pound animal after her."

Question for the many interpretations of X series. Could you do an episode on the interpretations of Troodon/Stenonychosaurus? It would be cool to see you discuss the dino and how media has reacted to Troodon being considered a dubious genus (I’m just reposting this comment so you can see it.

On the dino tracker website for dominion it says that sinoceratops has pachyrhinosaurus dna, and I think also other ceratopsian dna but I am unsure about that. So it makes sense I guess that it does not really look as much as sinoceratops as it might have. Anyways great video!
@iguanodon284 ай бұрын
Unrelated but since we’re talking about the Jurassic franchise, I would hope to see an adult dilophosaurus appear (a KZbinr named klayton fioriti made a video on this idea a couple of months back and uncovered some evidence of its existence) It would be cool and scary to see in Jurassic park survival (this would be the best opportunity for it to appear and would make for a great encounter)

it was confirmed on the sinoceratops page of the dinotracker website that sinoceratops is an amalgamation of other ceratopsians mixed in to complete the sinoceratops gene, including pachyrinosaurus, also, the change was made because pachyrinosaurus is already well known and trevarow thought putting in a lesser known species was better
@deppy89754 ай бұрын
The reason sinoceratops looks like that is because it’s an amalgam of triceratops and pachyrinosaurs

Perhaps surprisingly, my favorite dinosaur is Sinoceratops. Ever since I saw it in Fallen Kingdom I’ve been fascinated by it. The crown of curves eppoccipitals, the curved nasal horn, and the fact it’s the only Centrosaurine known from Asia. To me, it’s an incredibly interesting animal and I hope more fossils are found if it.
@amandareeves51014 ай бұрын
I think what happened with sinoceratops is that the people making the movie were originally going to make it pachyrhinosaurus, but for some reason, they switched last minute to sinoceratops. The toy that came out even had pachyrhinosaurus on the packaging and the toy lacked the nasal horn, so idk why they changed their mind last second. Btw, i have the toy, but im not bragging.

Pachyrhinosaurus is definitely my second favorite dinosaur right behind therizenosaurus. Ever since I watched Disney's dinosaur as a kid when I first saw it I was like "woah look at that guy its like a triceratops but with way more horns and a parrot head!" And ever since then its fascinated me I hope one day we find a species that lived in South America at the same time as carnotaurus(as unlikely as that is) that would be cool i always thought they look cooler in a tropical environment even though they lived in Canada.

There’s a canon reason for why the Sinoceratops looks like that. I do agree that it was originally developed as a Pachyrhinosaurus, but the reconstruction sucks for that animal, so they chose a more suitable name. Funnily enough, the canon reflects this, as Sinoceratops may be an amalgam; a sort of hybrid that fills in the DNA of one dinosaur using another, in this case, related species. Some have reasoned that Masrani intended to clone a Pachyrhinosaurus, filling in the genetic blanks with Triceratops DNA, the resulting clone of which resembled Sinoceratops more than either of the parent taxa. Other amalgams in the series may include Spinosaurus and Ceratosaurus. Really though, it’s just in-universe cope for how bad their reconstructions are.

The Jurassic world Triceratops isn't Triceratops porous It's still Triceratops horridus The other way to tell both species apart is to look at the top horns Triceratops horridus has alot more curvy horns then Triceratops porous And the Jurassic world Triceratops has its nasal horn small enough to be from horridus and not porosus But this franchise dose include 2 separate pachyrhinosaurus species Pachyrhinosaurus canadius in chaos theory And pachyrhinosaurus lakusti in the exhibition Also I know you said that this is a list for evrey onscreen ceratopsian But I have to point out that the Jurassic franchise has alot more ceratopsians that canonicaly exist Styracosaurus Diabloceratops Kosmoceratops Yinlong Zuniceratops Psittacosaurus Achelousaurus Aquilops Auroraceratops Yamaceratops Protoceratops Einiosaurus And then you have Hybrids like Stegoceratops Sauroceratops/ N601 Styracosaurus lux Sinoceratops lux And Triceratops lux
