the funny thing about Nickelback was that, on their first three "grungier" albums, they actually had some pretty progressive sentiments in their lyrics. They had a song about wanting to beat the shit out of a girl's abusive partner and another about the unfairness of how hard a single mother worked to raise her children. To see those sort of themes slowly devolve into "I want to fuck girls, I like girls, fuck me girls" is a kind of sick, sad comedy

No, people back into parking spots for the same reason that the phrase, "work before play", exists. Or, it's like eating your dinner, b4 your dessert. Even though it's not a big deal, it's getting the "hard" part out of the way. You have to go in reverse either when u get there, or when u leave. If u do it when u get there, then u just get to go when u leave. If u just pull in, then u have to do it later. Either way, u have to go through it. Some people just wanna get the more difficult part (as small as it is), over in the beginning, just to make things easier for them later. It actually says a lot about responsibility, and the kind of person you are. If u back in, you take care of ur shit before you get your reward. Yes, it's very small, but if u do that, you most likely take care of ur shit, before reaping your reward. Just basic psychology. Yes, I did just say way too much about this dumb shit, lol.

As the dude who drives a 30' long diesel truck, being able to pull straight out of parking spaces makes it way easier to see, and when backing in you are taking up the whole lane and people can't really just try to rush past you, like they can if you are backing out. Also, most everyone I know who backs in worked as a delivery driver for a company that required it and it just became habit.

Personally I picked up the backing into parking from the oilfield. If shit goes wrong on the rig that 4 seconds can be life or death and that habit sticks with you off the rig too

Backing into spots is safer! People come flying through parking lots (people who pull in probably) but it's harder to see past the cars next to you while backing out. I'm not a boomer either! Haha

12:48 to be fair, backing into a parking space at a chipotle might be a good idea considering you’re eating chipotle and you’re going to need a bathroom really quick after that

The Chadest Lyrics of all time is “Girl, I know your favorite beer. Cos you told me. And I bought it.” He didn’t even have to guess. _SHE_ told _HIM_ . Also. Inland Empire is California lol.

I feel obligated to point out that, in the UK at least, reversing into a parking spot is how you are taught to do it, and is part of your driving test.

Also much more convenient and safer to get out of the spot in a crowded parking lot

Same in Russia, driving test is the first and the last time we ever use it.

As someone that lives in Las Vegas this absolutely IS Chad central!! Most guys here ARE Chads that listen to 5FDP (and tbh most of them aren't very good at it). I was laughing watching this whole video because what you said is spot on accurate including the retired Chads in Florida that listen to Jimmy Buffet 😂

Back in my day, we called them jocks, and nerds like me had no use for them. I sometimes wonder how "Chad" came to supplant the older terminology. I knew a guy named Chad when I was in middle school, and he was a normal, decent person - neither a stereotypical jock nor a nerd, but somewhere in the middle. Thinking back to an earlier time period, I'm reminded of the nebulous category of 1960s music sometimes referred to as "frat rock" - simple songs with a driving beat that are great for parties. It is the butt rock of its time - mindless fun music that has no real depth. "Double Shot of My Baby's Love," by the Swingin' Medallions, is a typical example. This song had to have been the soundtrack to many a frat party to which only the Chaddiest of Chads were invited. It may exude the essence of Chad, but it's still a good song - I like to turn off my brain and listen to it every now and then. I would put this and others like it on the healthy side of the scale - lyrics to this music are all about having fun, and there is little toxicity to be found. By 1960s standards, frat rock was certainly aggro, but by today's standards, it is rather tame.

I graduated in the 2010s', I think it has to do with Jocks no longer being seen as that cool. Like the most popular kids in my school weren't on the football team neither were they cheerleaders. I grew up in a very rural area, where they spent an arm and a leg on stadium upgrades football was rather major. I think the jocks lost their cool points by being the schools darlings, the sort they wished other's would aspire to be.
