They joked about buying the butcher shop but it'd actually be pretty beneficial if they did. Aside from another source of revenue, it could serve as an outpost for The Chain in prince's territory and a direct communication link in case a faction were to try and claim it. Maybe setup a spy from the network there to get the gossip from the people, eh? Also, idea for Judge's sword could be that on a nat. 1 the demon entity jumps into the mind of Judge's enemy, similar to how it tried with Judge when he touched it, and buffs it somewhat.

2:19:20 Given that Matt says the sword will have a personality / alignment and stuff he should also give it Int / Wis / Cha stats. Then, it it tries to take over, it does a Charisma check with DC equal to Judge's Hit Points (but it can only do this once per given amount of time)

If I were including a living sword, I wouldn't bother rolling for the charisma check. I'd roll dice behind the screen, and first time say it failed. Then next time it succeeds, and takes over for the rest of the battle. As time goes on, it takes over during battle more and more, and after, say, 4 sessions, it takes over after combat for a few minutes. Then, each time it takes over, it takes over for longer. Players try to solve it, somehow

I believe those red blades may, in eventuality, oxidize to more of a maroon, unless he did a certain finish on them. My dad made me a wooden sword out of Paduk many years back, for wearing at SCA events when I was a kid. And don't worry if it does, it still looks damn good in maroon

1:19:00 Thank god for Matt knowing that critical ability checks and saving throws are not an actual rule. Personally I find the houserule that makes critical successes and failures apply with skill checks to be extremely annoying,especially with more complex systems like pathfinder,when you roll nat 1 and get a 17,which should be more than enough to succeed but the DM never told you that he uses this houserule so you fail for no reason. I really hope this stream draws some attention to the fact that it is a houserule,not an actual rule.

In 5e it seems that is the case, but in Pathfinder the nat 1/20 on saving throws being auto-success/failure is a real rule. Definitely true about the ability/skill checks though. There SHOULD be some tasks low-level characters cannot succeed at without help.

Also, a "nat 20" persuasion check when you ask the crown of a king shouldn't give you the kingdom, it should mean that he doesn't throw you into the dungeon but laughs at your OBVIOUS joke and makes you a jester.

Every character in this campaign is perfect and well rounded, and each player does a great job with their character, but if I had to choose my top 3, I'd have to say Slim (Phil), Judge (Anna) and Boots (Töm). Again I'm not saying I don't love the other characters and their respective players, I just enjoy these three the most. The Chain as a whole, is brilliant, and Matt C. I love this campaign.

Combining metals could be awesome, but there might be problems if two opposite metals touch, like I think sin metal and star metal. It may take some very careful layering and grandmaster craftsmanship to do that.
