Next several episodes we witness Paige being gaslit, tortured and almost murderered several times in an attempt to get her sisters and leo to realize Cole is evil again and is the new source.

I love that they got to avenge Prue, also The Source’s greatest mistake here was not taking Phoebe’s power if he had he would’ve seen his fate and what The Seer was planning.

That’s not guaranteed the seer was able to even hide phoebes visions of Cole during his time as the source

@@marquet1025it wasn’t the seer it was the source’s powers protecting him from her powers she even said as such and if Cole’s love grew any stronger it would overpower the source & it did

@@marquet1025Cole didn’t have her power, though. As said, if the Source had used The Hollow to take Phoebe’s power, too, he might have seen a vision of what the Seer was planning… Phoebe‘s power is activated by touching someone or something, though. Demons aren’t usually touchy feely anyway, plus The Hollow’s power consumed The Source to the point where he only wanted to kill the Charmed Ones anyway. Logical thinking wasn’t at play here - those women are smart, resourceful, think outside the box and also taking away their active powers (even if he’d gotten all 3) would not have erased The Power of Three spell casting ability. He would have known that from 4 and a half years of doing battle with them… but he was too focused on his end goal to see what he should have been able to see even without Phoebe’s powers. Even when you apply the concept of single minded determination to achieve your end goal without thinking about all the consequences, it doesn’t work out. Even though real people don’t have magical powers and the ability to see the future!

It's a false sense of security thing. Up until the last scene we're meant to think that they've vanquished the Source. It's not until the penultimate story he's officially vanquished

The beginning of one of the best story arcs from the show. And can we talk about how BA the Seer was! She didn't need fireballs. She just manipulated her way to the top. I believe she deserves a spot in the top 3 demons from the show. The 2 others are Barbas & Shax.

An epic battle. The seer was telling the truth about “the void”, but intentionally neglected to say it was Cole’s void where his demonic half is. New guardians were appointed for the hollow.

@@LysetteDoe his evil side was destroyed earlier and he became a human (season 4 episode 08). So he has a void inside of him which was filled with the powers and soul of the Source. Not sure about the original dub, but in the dub of my country Cole was actually controlled by the Source which makes the whole hate against him by the sisters even worse.

I love how cleverly Seer is written here. She says literally no lie, but her words just mean something else than what the sisters would think. "Where did the Source's powers go?" "Into the void" - you'd think she just means some void where things disappear but earlier in the episode she told Cole that there is void in him left by demonic half. "I didn't do this for your future, I did it for mine" - it would seem she means "I did it because the Source was crazy and needed to be stopped to save everyone's future" but she actually means that this was all part of her plan to make Cole the Source, make him have a baby with Phoebe and then steal that baby and become the new Source.

Cryptic foreshadowing. She seemed so reasonable this episode, but her evil intent was, in fact, worse than that of the Source.

Not only to become the Source, but also to take the power of the only person who could take out the Source alone. The first-born of the Charmed Ones was always meant to be the most powerful being on Earth.

This was the pinnacle of Cole journey from demon assassin to anti hero to full hero. It was all downhill after this for his character

What an amazing season! It’s definitely one of my favorite chapters in the whole series. Even though the way the source is defeated feels a bit anti-climactic, they really avenge Prue in a memorable way. I remember watching that episode on TV-Cole starts off without his powers, and Leo is hurt. For a moment, I was really hoping Prue would swoop in to save her sisters! That would have been such a great moment, even though it didn’t happen. I was only 8 years old at the time! And how about The Seer? She’s such a memorable villain, breaking the Power of Three without much power of her own, just by manipulating Cole and Phoebe. Seasons 3 and 4 are truly top-notch!

Really powerful moment! They avenged Prue and everything was as it should be. Source went crazy,just he was warned. We didn't understand what "into the void means". I remember watching and talking with mom then,we thought it means the void. Void,they can't harm anyone. Also that the Seer did it for her future. We thought because she's on the evil side. To save it too. Great scenes

This episode was the beginning of the end of phoebe and Cole relationship. When he came back from the wasteland phoebe could have said tell me all your powers and the strip the offense powers but she gave up on them instead. Cole tried to leave but became obsessed which led him to eternity In love limbo.

The absolute peak of Cole's character. After this, it was all downhill and how the sisters treated him, especially in season 5. Never mind the fact he was instrumental in finding out about Paige, saving Piper from The Source nearly destroying the Source, or was able to fight the Source's influence when he could've destroyed the charmed ones numerous times.

I have always had mixed feeling about this. It just seems so anti-climatic. And I get it - it's not the climax. The Seer is eventually revealed to be the Big Bad of the season and they fully intended to keep the story going, but I always felt that the ruler of the underworld who was responsible for Prue's death deserved a bigger send off. Instead they reduced him to a mid-season vanquish with no real battle.

This. I feel vanquishing the Source should have been a season 4 finale or even series finale. But they bring him back in season 8 for 30 seconds and Paige asks how they vanquished him. The writers really dngaf about this show and it just kept getting worse after Constance got pushed out.

When you come to think of it, despite it coming across as a major victory for them, since the essence of the Source was contained within it's powers which Cole had taken in, all the Sisters had actually done here was just vanquish another standard upper level demon.

I wish the source arc was kept for the end. It would be nice to see them vanquishing Cole in the final battle by using a stronger version of power of three spell as well as this spell where they call the haliwell witches power to help them combined as they did in this scene. Two in one. The source would be gone forever.
