Yes -- I could never understand who would want to watch the Kardashians or those mean Island programs where the bachelor kicks out or picks some beauty -- yes I have seen a couple but WHY STAY WITH that?-- reality shows that display the mean consumer side of life. This vlog reminds me of the positive things I want in my own life! I was telling a friend of mine about it and she said, bored, "Oh I've seen THOSE -- meaning those Chateau diy programs that gives you only a superficial view of Stephanie, Michael, et al. I find that I'm very protective of this vlog and am so pleased when one of my friends starts following also.

I don't know if Marie or Stephanie read these comments but...keep those garden mums for Christmas greenery pots! I work at a garden center and I use those garden mums for our outdoor Christmas pots. We cut all the dead foliage back and use the soil and roots in the pots to shove/stick fresh greens in and make beautiful porch pots arrangements with curly willow or red dogwood branches.

Meanwhile, there is lots to keep him busy in the🌾gardens🌱, esp. now that Isabelle has flown the coop🐔. After that, he probably rushes home to his family👨‍👩‍👦‍👦. 😉 Plus, we don't know if that is his specialty. Once he gets his own kitchen done, perhaps he might cook for viewers on their "Escape to Rural France" channel.

Isabelle, I had (he passed on) a friend that drilled a hole in the center of one half of the Jacaranda pod, and glued a marble in each hole. Obviously the hole was the same diameter as the marble, and he tied strings to them and hung them in an outside tree. They spun and glistened in the sun. It was quite beautiful.

Yes, Dan is doing great & is ever the busy beaver. 🦃Thanksgiving in the stables actually sounds lovely. Marie's wreath & flowers were lovely as usual. Can't wait to see her arrangements for the 🍁holiday🍁table. Will be interesting to learn what they will serve for their French/British/Dutch version of this meal. It will be tricky having a vegan as well as someone with allergies. Not the former, but I have swapped out these ingredients for good results in baking: 1:1 Coconut oil for butter & shortening (when soft). 1:3/4 less coconut oil (when it is in liquid form). + 1-2 tbs water*. There is a lower moisture content in coconut oil vs butter. To avoid dryness, add a touch of liquid to batter or dough. 1:1 Swapped out cold brew coffee or tea* (pick a flavor that suits recipe) for milk. 🥚Aquefaba for eggs. 😉Hopefully, they will serve some cheesy, buttery (garlic?) 🥔 mashed potatoes & dressing (vs stuffing😝). ☮💛🌼

One of the things I absolutely love about Lalande is that you can spontaneously decide on a themed party, or an outing, and there's always lovely, agreeable, fun people to join in. Also, a while back there was talk in South Africa of felling the jacarandas and replacing them with indigenous trees because jacarandas are alien plants and aren't great for our water table with drought-prone climate, but people love them so much that they decided to mostly let them be for now. Some cities' streets are lined with them and when you look at the view from a hill, it's like your surroundings just turn purple every spring.

I think the water Lily idea for the fountain is the best thought. Lilies and lily pads. Nature does what it pleases. When flowers do not come out properly we know someone else has the hand in it all. Without flowers, this world would be so desolate. Could not imagine. I love flowers and never could live without seeing the flowers coming out every year. My herbs too. It means so much! Love the Red / White Roses that came up unexpectedly but not sure of the name? It may be sort of Peppermint Rose, but not sure? So love La Lande and all that takes place. The videos are great and I know much time goes into all that they must do to show us each one. I wish so much I could just give money to all the work, but we are not able on our social security (even though we worked full-time decent jobs) but we live in a smaller community, and what we thought was good money then, was not that great to keep up with how expensive things now have become, but people just cannot tell by watching us, it looks like all is fine, and overall it is, so far!) We do not want to move and bother anyone really ) and owning our home it takes our money, and alot especially with winter heat bills. But if for any odd reason I should get alot of money all at once, ( love dreaming as one never knows) I will be more than happy to be giving money each month. So that I must pray happens, but then again everyone seems to want that. Breaks my heart I cannot. Maybe given time. (Your Live changes I have found. Like chapters in a book). It is worth it to watch the Chateau grow and be turned into the lovely home it was and is, meant to be. The joyfulness in the home will set into the atmosphere and the spirit of the joy will probably be in the walls and go on for many years.

There are actually two layers of gravel there - a greyish one underneath to level it out and stop the muddy mess from happening, and the pinkish surface gravel. Even if they rake it away they're going to end up with it all mixed up and a bit unsightly.

Yes, we have a couple wanting to spring up in our back yard. Once upon a time, we removed one from the front garden. They're truly beautiful, but don't place them near a patio or where 🚘cars are parked bcos of sticky sap. Or, near a 🏊‍♀️pool where the blooms will drop in. I think they should scrape up the gravel over the driveway and put it over the newly buried cable ditch when it is finished save a few bucks. The dance looks like fun. all just having a good time. I’ve watched many KZbin videos about chateaus. Yours is the first one that I actually feel as though I could live there every day. You’ve brought so much excitement and laughter to your home. Thank you for sharing this journey and adventure with us. There’s not one thing I don’t love about your château and I wish I could live there I absolutely love Selma. Is he a volunteer or a paid worker. I love seeing him on the videos and hope he never leaves! It is always a pleasure to see Michael Potts and Oliver! I have been watching the whole series over again and honestly feel like I know you all. So many wonderful people come and go, what a beautiful life you actually have, being able to meet so many wonderful people!! I will always be a faithful follower!!
