All the guns made by this same company (RSC) are really interesting. We also have the Ribeyrolles which was another automatic rifle concept, an extremely cut down version of the Chauchat sometimes classified as an early SMG but probably closer in reality to a carbine-length battle rifle (think the SCAR-H), and the RSC itself, which was a semiauto rifle based on the same basic concept (RSC stands for Ribeyrolles, Sutter, and Chauchat, who all lent their names to various weapons of the era). Also fun fact: these guns were all designed by a bicycle company.

I love the Chauchat. It’s such a misunderstood gun. Sure, it had awkward ergonomics, a slow firerate, and weird ironsights, but it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. And even though the open magazine had the possibility of letting dirt and other particles into the gun, but this is WW1 we’re talking about. Dirt, mud, and all that other stuff got *everywhere*. Every gun in that war had to have jammed at some point. Sure, it’s outcompeted by modern LMGs, but for it’s time, it was a decent piece of machinery. When the bfv update chauchat came out I was so excited until the BAR Came out,and never touched the chauchat again, BAR is superior along side the FG-42 in bfv, such a fun game, gun Jesus in video is such a nice touch

Battlefield V being unhistoric? NO! Lol, I remember the ads where they were saying it was going to be the "most historically accurate game ever" and further note that they have removed all of those. It's hilarious. Thanks for going over the Chauchat, Ian and Admin.

you mean optics and red dots on any single gun wasn't a thing during WWII ???!!
@Pattamatt1998 Жыл бұрын
@@andredulac4456one thing that really bothered me and probably no one else was how the Nydar optical sight, one of the more common optics in that game (that technically wasn't invented until after the war if memory serves) was designed for shotgun shooting and yet wasn't available on any of the shotguns.

Ah yes the best collab of all time Forgotten Results, I remember seeing a Chauchat in museum before and all I could think of at the time was "how in the holy hell did that mag not jam immediately after being a muddy trench for who knows how long?". I mean with that huge open cut in the mag it had to have been just a magnet for debris intake right? I've got to imagine it must have been a nightmare to both clean and maintain in those conditions bar none.

The Chauchat was my absolute favorite gun in BF1, it sounded so cool and was apparently OP, I probably never knew that detail cuz I kinda suck but on some days the stars were aligned and I wrecked with support and scout, wish that EA would just revive BF1 and give us more war stories, WW1 is a perfect setting for somewhat justifying both sides.
