@@MikeChudley Hey mate, thank you for answering so fast! I did go ahead and get one from eBay for about 145 quid (with the kit lens, two batteries and a bag) so I think it is a pretty good deal. I was gonna go for a Nikon in the same price range (my research indicated that the sensor might be better?) but they do not seem to have the option for 60fps (and many do not have a flip screen). So your video was really helpful on making the decision! Keep it up!

Yes!!!! I have a T4i 650D. I was lucky that I bough my camera with some kit lenses that my friends were interested in for photography! So we swapped lenses and I got 10-18mm and 18-55mm (kit)! So far I’ve always felt like I HAD to get a better camera...but either way my camera is good enough until I feel like I need to get better, and that may be a 90D.

I like the overall feel of this video. On the content: The most interesting thing for me coming from a smartphone is not the resolution or FPS. As you said smartphones already cover those bases. I'm interested in depth of field and dynamic range, with my biggest paint point being the latter. How much of an upgrade is the Canon 600D in terms of dynamic range?

Great video. Thanks for posting it. I was, however, hoping for more camera options and regrettably at the moment, the currently available T3i options are still pretty expensive. More than what you quoted. Also, I have a Nikon that doesn't shoot great video. I'm afraid the two cameras might resent each other. Fights could ensue and then what would I do if one of them get's broken as a result? Also, I think it would have been a good idea to mention the 4GB video limit on the camera which means you probably won't be able to shoot segments longer than 12 minutes without an interruption. Plan accordingly.

great video, very informative but unfortunately I haven't found the one that aroused my attention ): I currently have a Canon 600D and it's amazing, I love the screen coming out, the only pity is that it doesn't have autofocus! I mean, I have to regulate it myself with the manual gear or have to hold the shut button for a bunch of seconds and does a pretty loud sound too. that's the only reason why I'd like to sell that one and buy another one. do you have any suggestions? I'd really like to have a camera with autofocus, without me needing to do anything and just focus with something in front of it, but I also don't know if it's possible or even exists because my budget is around 400€. sigh T_T

I've had the T5i for years and decided to use it this weekend for a hiking trip with a 24mm lens, even though I used a tripod, the videos (while I walk) are very shaky (annoyingly shaky). Any recommendations? I'd love to vlog my future camping/hiking trips in Scotland but I can't afford a GoPro Hero 7, Canon G7X, or anything like it. I thought of fixing my 18-55mm since it comes with IS (after watching this video) but not sure if that would be the solution. I saw some "sport cameras" similar to a GoPro on Amazon from 30-80 pounds but I'm afraid I'd get rip off. I'd appreciate any suggestions on cheap equipment, cameras or if I can work something out with what I already have. Sorry for the long explanation. Hope you get to read this message.

Hey, thanks for watching! You could try and recover the shaky footage using warp stabiliser in adobe premiere. It's an effect that smooths out any shake. I hope this helps.

Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. If you record with a DSLR your files will be much bigger. So your phone might not be able to handle the files. I recommend editing on a computer at this point.

@@TimRobson30 It's not the storage that will be the problem. But the processing power to edit a large amount of files on a phone that might be an issue. 256gb might be enough storage but editing DSLR footage will slow your phone down. Obviously it's worth trying though! Give it a go. I just airdrop files from mac to iPhone most of the time. If you don't use a mac or iPhone then try google storage/emailing yourself clips/dropbox/wetransfer, something like that. Hope this helps!
