this is the 3rd review of this truck and not one talked about towing ability?
@codydiek7981 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you, been trying to get some actual info on the chassis. Seems to me all these reviewers got the same spiel from Toyota reps, we wanna know payload, towing, see the underside of the truck. Come on!

It's a nice truck. Shame about the rear doors and the price hike. All the tech in the world doesn't make up for the loss of those doors. I suspect many will get traded in early once their owners realize what a pain in the butt it is owning one of these without the rear doors to access what's back there. This will definitely help Nissan though. They still have rear doors on their King Cab and a V6 standard!

I could see that. There’s decent space but you have to flip the front seat up

I bought one yesterday. Love it. It’s a truck. Not a Lexus with a bed that I use to haul my trash cans out to the road. It’s got a 228 HP motor which is more than my 1997 Ford F250 had. Seriously. I also have a RAV4 Hybrid and can’t help but think, why dont they use hybrid in all the trucks. MPG would put Tacoma at the top for fleet management departments in large workforce corporations.

Not a bad idea, especially if they'd release a Maverick competitor.
@juketreks21923 күн бұрын
@ The SR 4x4 shocked me when I saw it. I thought it was bigger than my old 1978 F150 and it is. It’s old 2” narrower than the 2025 F150. I am 6’4” 280 and it’s way bigger than the GEN 1 that was just over 66” wide. This is like the old T100 tundra. It’s the perfect size for me. And it’s one well laid out work truck which I bought as a hunting fishing camping play golf truck for my retirement. If they dropped the price to $32000 the out the door price would still be $38k to $40k.

Great video! Just subscribed. 👍🏻I’m thinking about getting this exact same truck with the manual and 4x4. I’m a simple man and for me it’s a rugged truck it’s not meant to have leather and all the nice features, it’s meant to do the job and get me home safe. That’s all I need.

You won't be disappointed. So much better to live with than the previous gen. Welcome to the channel!

What’s the exact motor difference to the 280hp motor? Or is it cause the iforce gives it the extra hp?
@jax10798 ай бұрын
SR is just a detuned iForce

I drive a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 4WD. Its transmission isn't good at all if left in Drive mode. Use the sport auto shifting, however, and it's awesome. Makes me wonder how many people keep it in Drive and have to sit through that horrible auto transmission.
@jax1079 Жыл бұрын
You’re not wrong, and it does help the responsiveness of the old transmission, but this 8 speed in the new Tacoma is just on another level. So much more modern.
@youarenotme01Ай бұрын
I want a truck, and i prefer the SR. downside is i prefer manual transmission and unavailable in extended cab. Manual adds double cab and $10,200 to the price. Now it’s crazy money for a lil’ work truck. Double cab is too long with six foot bed for my needs. Why can’t i have base model, six foot bed, extended cab, six foot bed. I don’t trust auto transmissions. That thing will cost $10k to fix. No thank you. Give me the most affordable, easiest to maintain, chrleapest to operate work vehicle possible. I also prefer the looks of the SR. Steelies are perfect.

34k and No rear doors? Work Truck? how are you gonna get your stuff in and out of the rear space? no go.
@jax10799 ай бұрын
This has been a common complaint. The seats easily flip forward, but I think they axed the doors to simplify costs.
@jacoe33333Ай бұрын
Simplify cost but the price went up with 30% 😂. I guess leaving bigger gaps in the doors, hood and with a tailgate that is not alligned they should increase the price. What is next?

Almost same mpg as last year , worse tow capability, more expensive . Dont know why youtubers are all googly eyes over it . They went thr tundra route , no significant improvement
@jax1079 Жыл бұрын
Because we’ve actually driven it and it’s significantly improved…
@jacobmoore621411 ай бұрын
Dude the towing is the same as the sr 2.7 from last year and the higher trims which have more hp and torque are the same the mileage is close to the same but drivability is greatly improved over the v6 and insanely compared to the old 2.7

I just bought a Tacoma work truck 6' bed. If shopping today would buy the least expensive 6' bed midsize truck, which Toyota was at that time. Fit and finish on my new Tacoma is way below par; sloppy I would say. Panel gaps don't match and the hood is a little crooked. Obviously not to Japanese standards. Drives OK 😊
