Kind of surprised that it's that functional! For that amount of stuff in a single box I was expecting the mic to be crunchy as all hell and then it came in and it's, well, fine? I will say that I'm really impressed with the doodads that came with it, the quarter inch screw mounts and stands etc. If nothing else, that really bolsters the value as a starter kit just because those things will go on to be useful in the long-term! My first webcam was a notorious akaso action cam and while it's largely served its purpose, the mounting kit that came bundled with it has gone on to be useful in my office and my kitchen. Really, really helps with the value proposition as a starter kit.

What kind of lights do u recommend upgrading to? I'm currently using a large fat green screen square light on my left for lighting up my surroundings and a small light like this kit for my face and to separate myself from the background sort of. Its JUST enough light to get the job done with my a5100, which to me seams very noise heavy regardless of how much light i can add.

Will you review the FDUCE SL40 Dynamic Microphone? The microphone looks just like a Shure MV7, but it sounds better with the warm bassier sound, xlr cable included unlike the MV7 and USB C port. All of this without software.

Probably for 80$ i wouldn't get this, but at 65$ i think its ok, if this was all offered back 6 years ago, it probably would be a no brainer to pick up. As a better option, i suppose a fifine mic + C270 (or a similar decent 720p webcam that doesnt look noisy) and a desk lamp would be the better way to go.

@@EposVox yeah but there are a lot of budget friendly items in the market that works just fine vs you spending premium on elgato, their price tag isn't justified.

Their webcam costs the same as every other webcam in its tier, while beating many of them in many ways and providing crucial UI improvements. Their mic is also mostly in the “budget” category while being literally the best sounding USB mic you can possibly buy, plus the virtual mixing software. Their lights are competitively priced against lights *actually worth buying long-term* and come with some lovely features. The only thing they sell that’s even expensive within its market category are the stream decks, and that’s because their only competition is Touch Portal on a phone or tablet or jerry rigging your own macro pad with none of the integrations or features. Their price tag is rarely significantly higher than the competition, sometimes lower, and is basically always justified. I really wish this weird mindset would die, as it doesn’t even remotely hold up if you actually shop around. Should a brand new streamer buy a $100 mic or light? Probably not. But anyone doing it regularly or upgrading should, and Elgato stuff isn’t even high tier, it’s a stepping stone to *actually expensive stuff*

Im trying to figure out what I want to get and this is all getting overwhelming between all the different things one needs to get going and the many options in each category and I can feel analysis paralysis setting in quickly every time I try to make progress 😢

Actual sound-wise, the Elgato Wave is either the best, or one of the best. Some of the new dynamics make a bit more sense to use, and have better noise rejection etc. which is why they typically rate higher, the point was just that it's nowhere near overpriced lol. The good news is, there's plenty of great options!

As someone who unfortunately worked for Gamestop when the Atrix line of hardware came out. I can say that it’s their product, they have headsets & all other garbage. It was introduced during the pandemic so that they could make more money as they were you know “essential” during that time. I wouldn’t buy any of the Atrix stuff EVER! But that’s why you will probably only see it on their website & in their stores.
