Use code "DUMPLING" for $5 off either Sakuraco team.sakura.co/strictlydumpli... and TokyoTreat team.tokyotreat.com/strictlyd... boxes now! Experience Japan for yourself!
This was one of my all-time favorite food days in Japan. I found a hidden gem sushi shop where the sushi cost only $0.07 a piece! Also, the sushi quality was incredible! This is a MUST MUST try while in Japan. Then went for lunch at Ginza steak a must try for all-you-can-eat wagyu.
Restaurants I went to:
Sushi Shop
Nakano Broadway
Ginza Steak
Various locations

Imagine going anywhere in the US, buying 20 pieces of sushi for about $1.50 after taxes, and having that sushi actually be good quality and enjoyable to eat. Genuinely unbelievable deal.

Ate at ginza (unli wagyu) restaurant in ebisu (just opened last 19 May). Gotta say, it’s the best steak house ive ever been to, and ive visited a number of steak houses in the Philippines that are considered “amazing” and charge ludicrously. Side note though, we couldnt really choose the specific part of the cow that we wanted. The chef (or i guess the restaurant) chose which part theyll cook for you during the unli part of the course. They were all amazing anyway, but ofc some parts were more tender and delicious. Regardless, would go back there in a heartbeat bc u cant beat that value (11k yen!!!).

it's a loss lead. Note the stipulations: whatever the daily 'special' is, and you have to buy a drink. The daily special is always the fish that's closest to turning, that or something you just happened to get at an absolute steal because your supplier shipped it accidentally (usually by screwing up your order). Either way you're incentivized to get rid of it quick. Most people aren't Mikey, they aren't going to buy a soft drink and just eat the on special sushi. The danger with loss leads is if you scale too high, you run the risk of people exclusively eating at your establishment for the marked down food, defeating the entire purpose.

The chef cooked ubelievably slowly we were in 1hr before we got to the "unlimited" part. the cuts were so small and he only served each cut one at a time. I only got 4 cuts before it was time to serve the last portion. it was disappointing. There was only 1 chef for 8 people.

I can't believe they can sell sushi that cheap but in reality it's a loss leader as you will buy other dishes & drinks at still cheap prices. The steak house AYCE deal is a super value considering the amount of meat so ¥10,000 is not a bad price!
