christhefreelancer.com/chiang-...
This week I'm in Chiang Mai, living my usual Digital Nomad lifestyle, working out at the gym, going to coworking spaces and attending meetups.

Thanks again for another video! Do you know if you can hire personal trainers in Chiang Mai? If so, assuming they're Thai - would they be able to speak English?
@ChristheFreelancer

No idea man. I've never hired a trainer here but if you're interested in Martial Arts, I think you'll be able to find rates for trainers online.

Do you workout in between working hours? I don't like to work in a co-working space. I have internet on my phone and just go walking around. I walk to different viewpoints, sit and do some work, and then I walk some more. I find that I am more productive if I break up my day with walks. I was wondering if you did the same with working out?

It probably came up due to the fact that there are not so many videos on the DN lifestyle. Pretty everything in the video is still relevant (the meeetup, the gym, the coworking space). Otherwise, I would have created a new video.

Hey Chris, I've got a question I'm hoping you could answer. I want to move to Chiang Mai in January to work on my drop shipping business and to train Muay Thai and practice yoga. I only just found out this is during "smokey season". Would exercising frequently and living a normal healthy lifestyle be possible during smokey season?? I'd really appreciate some help! Cheers
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 8 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your tolerance man. Burning season didn't bother me too bunch but it does for others
@JimmyPrice808
@JimmyPrice808 8 жыл бұрын
O.K I think I should be fine then. I was just hoping everyone wouldn't pack up and leave for those few month and I wouldn't be able to train or meet people
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 8 жыл бұрын
+JimmyPrice808 there's less people in Chiang Mai, for sure but not everyone leaves. For example, this video was filmed towards the end of burning season

+Chris the Freelancer Email subscribed! My suggestion, find a form/service that doesn't require users to confirm there e-mail address if your goal is to build a big email list, because probably around half the people won't end up confirming their address :( Another question for you - you're mainly doing freelancing right now, I see a lot of people doing drop shipping and/or Amazon FBA. Are you planning on getting into these to increase your passive income?
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 8 жыл бұрын
+Yovi Records no plans to do droppshipping or FBA right now although it is a consideration. If you're interested, check out my interview with Riley Bennet here on KZbin where I talk more about why I chose freelancing

Somebody told me it's sort of necessary to own a motorbike in Chiang Mai...do you think it's true? Can't I get away with feet/bike? Is it possible to find a relatively QUIET and not too cramped one bedroom apartment close to basic services (grocery stores, cafe) at around 200-250$/m? And is it easy to add wifi to it?
@ChristheFreelancer
@ChristheFreelancer 8 жыл бұрын
In regards to your first point, I highly disagree. We stayed in Chiang Mai for a month with no bike and we were fine. As long as you live in Nimman, everything is close by enough to walk. It's of course up to you though. Most nomads I met had a bike but it's not essential. In rewards to the second point, keep an eye on the channel. I'll be putting out a video on this subject in the next two weeks

Remember when the housing bubble burst back in '08, and about a year after, all these real estate d-bags became social media marketing "gurus" and "mavens," and they were always pushing themselves as a "brand," and marketing the fact that they're marketers as some sort of personal self-improvement-obsessed fucking philosophy, and constantly mixing their personal lives with their business personas on social media? Douchey times those were. The term "digital nomad" reminds me of those times. I would like to think one could just happen to have a *real* skill that enables remote working in an interesting part of the world, without that person having anything to do with the oblivious, narcissistic bro-cuntery that seems now so strongly associated with said term.

Too funny... I guess you haven't heard about all the digital nomads that have been busted in CM for tutoring chinese students without having a Thai work permit... Good luck, especially since you advertise this fact on youtube...

In this case, I wouldn't need a Thai work permit as the students are based in China not Thailand

@michaelirish1445

You can't even twang a guitar in Thailand without having work permit. Volunteer mission work requires a permit in Thailand. They are not policing it yet but there are instances of proper digital nomads doing proper digital work getting kick out. Absolutely any work at all is technically illegal in Thailand without a permit.
