While I haven't been to every city in the US, Chicago is the most beautiful one in America, the architecture, the river, the lake front with its 26 miles of public parks and beaches is unsurpassed for any city in the world.

I respect past leaders of Chicago for their forward looking design and building of the city. It’s beautiful and efficient with world class institutions. The MWRD is best in the world as well as parks and a public shoreline. Culture and education of our state is displayed in Chicago like a fine canvas. There are problems as in any city but it always rises above. The future of the city is outstanding.

The commentary is fairly good but slightly arrogant which really comes out when the leftist liberal mr. Barr chooses to trounce on President Trump and his grand Trump Tower which brought much to the property value and tourism to Chicago. Mr Baer is a petty person it is obvious! He ruined his whole documentary being so insulting to our great President!

I love my city which means good or bad in it should be shown afterall the city of Chicago doesnt end downtown and because a lot of videos about chicago centers in the city very bias to say downtown chicago is the city when it is not notable chicago starts downtown n ends near riverdale illinois but most videos about chicago hide the rest of the city because those in office dont fully take care of the rest of the city but just its focal points that make it money I rest my case who else agree city of chicago can be very beautiful if the labeling of parts stop n we get people in office to make the entire city SAFE not glamorize in over prices of places to live but the number one thing needed SAFE AFFORDABLE BREATHABLE AND NO HOMELESS

What I remember about the Chicago river is that it used to run into the Lake, but because all the water supply came from the Lake and toxic waste and sewage was dumped into the Lake, a change was desperately needed. So, they reversed the flow of the river so it could flow inland, taking sewage and contaminants with it. I’m not sure what they’ve done since but hopefully it’s a lot better than the way it started. Where does it go now? How far did they dig a canal to the South? It’s a curious thing that a river runs away from a huge lake, don’t you think?

I truly enjoyed the history of Chicago! I have myself been to Chicago and it is a very beautiful city. It made me reflect back on the Trump Tower, the Sears Tower and the gorgeous buildings and infrastructure. Also, I went to a restaurant that was owned by Trump and I remember looking out and all I saw was white buildings…The buildings were so close to one another. I had never seen this before but it had its own beauty. Nonetheless, I was shocked actually to learn about the sewage that went into the river. Can’t even imagine the smell of the runoff from the animals and also the disposing of carcasses… I can’t even fathom the thought of the odour, not to mention the devastating health affects this would have on any human or animal for that matter. Thank you so much! I do appreciate the time that you put in to making this available for us to watch. Respectfully, Susan from Canada…… ps: sad to see how technology has taken away a lot of jobs such as the post office, Sears and The Chicago Tribune…..not to mention many, many more!!…However, in saying this, it is also lovely to see the improvements and to see how they made so many things so very beautiful. As they say, life is ever-changing and so are our surroundings. Cheers!

The buildings that capture a reflection of the sky, with clouds and blue, absolutely offer a free feeling to the Chicago River and its Urban Reality. They feel like "a breath if fresh air". I would say, Chicago has come a long way and much value has been realized thanks to each Private Patron of their Vision, Time, Financial Gifts, the People of Chicago with their Taxes and observant attention, and Countless City Workers, Politicians, and Others that remain unknown by the Masses but help give the City its Beautiful Skyline and Pedestrian experiences. I applaud the City Council for their response to "labeling buildings", however I feel they should have the Trump Letters removed, as it was not requested nor approved by the City. Clearly it is undesired and the Building must be made to comply. Children that aren't corrected and made to comply, grow in to Adults whom behave the same. At some point someone must say "No means No" and enforce it. It was really an "in your face Chicago".

"Orange guy bad, let's take his name off of HIS building." You can hate the guy all you want, that's your right, but let's keep the politics and architecture separate.
