Wow! Thank you for the great analogies! I have been struggling with a stagnant prayer life and feeling like I’m just treading water, and I now know it’s because I have not been contrite in my prayer. And I’ve downplayed the severity of my sins by comparing myself to others instead of to my former self. Thank you, Father. And thanks be to God for giving you the wisdom. ☦️

This is REALLY good. This is what I've been talking about lately. The closer I feel to God, the more I see the specks of dust that are my own sins or areas that need cleansing!

Pet hair on black clothes is my favorite analogy for this. You can spend all the time you want trying to remove pet hair with a lint roller, but as soon as you step outside in the sunlight you'll see all the hair you missed.

Indeed, we have nothing of our own except our sins. Without God, we are powerless, and even repentance is impossible without His grace. When we acknowledge our dependence on Him, He fills our lives with light and strength. May our hearts always seek Him, for in Him, we find true freedom and renewal. Believe that with God's help, each of us can become better!

I thought by the title of the video that you were gonna come off as judgemental. I apologise for that. I appreciate your compassion. I have been abusing all sorts of substances all my life and I think it is time for me to make that change and cleanse my body of toxins.

Which books would you recommend to know the lives of the saints?

Prologue of Ohrid is always good. The OCA website has the lives of s verla saints for each day posted as well.

The children's book 101 Orthodox Saints from acient faith store. Seriously, it's a kids book but is a wealth of knowledge. It has photos and Icons so you can become familiar. You can preview it on their website. Also they just release the second version 102 Orthodox Saints

Would it also be accurate to say that our will is our own? Because God gives us free will, and thus even though it comes from God, it is ours to choose to use how we want?

Worst sin is being the pope, genuinely believing you can be infallible, or superior to others, like Satan thought he was the superior amongst Angels
