Wolves are awesome animals. Humans have given them a bad wrap. Being Native American and having had a German Shepard Timberwolf mix I promise you the wolf only wanted to help. Animals of any species react to pain from other animals as well as humans. I had my wolf dog 18 years and he was amazing. I have only cats now but even they react to me if they know something is wrong. Never underestimate the bond of human and animals ❤ its strong. Thank you for this wonderful story.

I heard of a story where a boy was lost in the woods in the winter and he ended up passing out. But while being passed out he felt something warm press against his body, and it turned out that a pack of wolves were cuddling him! 😱 Don’t get me wrong I think it’s one heck of a miracle but how often does that happen! I've been living with a red McKenzie Tundra wolf for 9 years he's my service animal we are together 24/7 for 9 years I'll tell you living with a wolf is a journey!! beyond the nose the ears and the tail that's the end of resemblance to a dog beyond that there's nothing at all like a dog not even a little bit he doesn't bark he doesn't howl and he's magnificent and beautiful and we go in public all over the stores anywhere I go he goes and he's welcome he is absolutely drop dead gorgeous!! It's a journey and the intelligence of this animal is absolutely amazing!! I raised Shepherds some went to police departments!! As Intelligent and compatible a Shepherd is it's still does not compare to a wolf!!

Wolves are beautiful animals and have helped many people in the past, wolves are my absolute favorite animals and most humans misunderstand them as killing machines and don't realize the other side of their nature, that they can be gentle and loving too! Wolves are also very loyal, and the ones that were bred and sold to be exotic pets should NOT be, because wolves DO NOT belong in a home setting and will chew up all the furniture and people quickly realize that they can't have a wolf in their home so they abandon the wolf , they either put the wolf on the streets or put them in a shelter or just tie them up on a pole in the middle of nowhere, wolves also get hunted very often and are now endangered. And to hear this story is just heart warming for me🥰🥰

There is also a story of deer laying down next to a hiker who had gotten lost during a cold night saving the hikers life. When a search team found the hiker in the morning. They didn't believe the hiker until they saw the outline of the deer along side the hiker on the heavily frosted ground.

Regardless of the reasoning for the wolf's actions, this is just one more tale that shows, more than anything, that animals can be heroes too. One thing I will add though. The Biology teacher said it mistook the boys for pups because of their fur coats. If that was true, then when it "layed down next to the edge of the ice and began to sniff", it would have known immediately by the scent that these were not pups. Angels, spirits of ancestors, instinct - call it what you will. This wolf saved lives that day, and likely engrained a deep lesson about nature into those boys.

Wolves are very brave spiritual creatures and understand Humans very well. They have an affinity with children who are close in kind to the understanding of their own young. Their cries of terror alerted the Wolf to the danger they were in. He /She was probably watching from a safe distance after he rescued the first boy then left when he knew they were safe. That is what I believe happened that day. But given the very disappearance of the wild wolf, and the boy's cry for help, I strongly believe that God sent an angel to rescue the drowning kids in a form of a wolf.
