I had told my girlfriend at the time some weird dreams I was having. So for my birthday she got me the book Communion. It was 1989. The book had been out for a few years but I had never seen it or heard about it yet. When I unwrapped the book I almost dropped it. She said to me , "what's wrong". I said how'd you know this is exactly what they look like. Holy smokes Bob.

I find the idea of the greys discussing which pop culture character to disguise themselves as so they can talk to you without you freaking out, to be darkly funny. Even more so that they chose the king of Narnia.
@Eristtx24 күн бұрын
I was rather thinking that the poor guy must have felt embarrassed. He probably didn’t even bother to get dressed because he was supposed to be the King of Narnia. So he just stayed in his pajamas… and everything was going fine until, all of a sudden, his 'patient' started having a panic attack… and then he realized-the kid could see him… in those pajamas. He had to put him to sleep immediately. The most embarrassing day in the life of a Grey, ever. Bet they still laugh at him to this day in the office… or, well, cabin… or whatever their workplace is. Maybe it cost him a chance at promotion. That missed promotion and all the jokes really hurt him. What stung the most, though, was when they assigned him his next job: visiting a fan of the movie Paul (2011). That was just… rock bottom. And when he found out that Paul only wore a loincloth, he wished he could jump out of the saucer and end it all. One day, he was imagining himself at the operating table, handing the big boss a pair of tweezers. Barely two days later, he’s sitting in a shady room wearing a loincloth. He doesn’t feel safe-especially not in a loincloth… such a disaster. And instead of creating an illusion, they just put makeup on him back on the ship… and laughed at him. Twenty years later, he’d almost forgotten about Bob. But then he got another mission. He was supposed to transform into a baby Bigfoot and go chat with some Bob guy. And then it hit him… that crazy kid from Narnia was now into hairy apes, and they sent him back to deal with him… that was the final straw. He opened the hatch and jumped out of the saucer. Where he landed, no one knows. But they were apparently doing an airshow over New Jersey, so the boss probably won’t be happy. But screw him. He’s had enough. Even a Grey has his pride. Four hours later, CNN reported that the Russians, for an unknown reason, dumped a mannequin into the monkey enclosure where it spooked a family of gorillas. // I guess I need to admit it: I have a problem with procrastination.

At 15 years old, I had a "dream" in which I awoke standing in my room with either two or three "gnomes" in the room with me. I could see in the dark, like the air was lit up, though there was no specific light source.These were like the gnomes from the old David the Gnome cartoons based on the art book by Rien Poortvliet, lawn gnomes essentially, but these were about 3.5 feet tall, but I didn't ever look at their faces or bodies. I just "knew" they were gnomes, and all I could see were their tall, pointed, red hats at about my eye level. It's all I looked at. They asked me where I wanted to go, told me that I could go anywhere, and I live in Santa Cruz CA and just a few blocks from the Boardwalk amusement park, and I said I wanted to go there, and a two foot round hole or portal opened up about two or three feet off the ground in the center of my room, and on the other side was cement at the edge of the portal, and so like climbing up on a step or wall, I clambered up from my knees through the portal and onto one of the Boardwalk's wide paved entry walkways. And there I was, in the dark, 2-4am, in my underwear and tshirt, and I thought "well this is lame." A gnome was there with me and asked which ride was my favorite and why, and we were suddenly there by the ride and I was talking about it, and then - I was sitting in my bed, absolutely awake, not dreaming for absolutely sure, still able to see in the dark of my room like the air itself was dimly lit. I was staring at where the portal had been, now gone. The gnomes were gone. And I remember thinking "I had better go to sleep" and then laid down and was out.

I remember walking out of my room when I was about seven. From the end of the hall, all the way on the living room TV, was the image of a Grey. It was a local news report. I froze in terror. I hadn't seen one before; I didn't even know what it was. But, it put an immediate fear into me like nothing has before or since. That was the late 1980s. When I was 20, I saw Communion. When the alien peaked out in the bedroom, I let out an involuntary, primal scream. My head seemed to move of its own accord behind my girlfriend's shoulder, like I was completely helpless in the face of that thing. The cover of that book stirs a fear deep inside. Why was I so afraid of something that I didn't even recognize at age seven, and yet again as an adult?
@mattpierre8916 ай бұрын
I'm 54 years old and have never had any sort of UFO encounter, but to this dat the image of greys SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME!
@Phoenix_of_Sun6 ай бұрын
Its probably: 1. Certain visual cues can tap into primal fears. For instance, large eyes, distorted faces, or unnatural movements can evoke a fear response because they signal something out of the ordinary and potentially hazardous. 2. When we encounter something unfamiliar, our brains struggle to categorize it, leading to discomfort and anxiety. The "uncanny valley" effect explains how almost-human but not-quite-right appearances (common in depictions of aliens or monsters) can be particularly unsettling. 3. When we see something that defies our understanding of the natural world, it creates a conflict in our minds. This cognitive dissonance can manifest as fear because our brains prefer predictability and coherence.

@MetalGearsOfThought6 ай бұрын
I had, let's call it, a 'dream' because I don't want to be branded completely insane, at around age 12 I think. And in it, was a very similar thing to what Bob is describing here, with the blonde guy, as well as the greys, only I was in a small (space)ship, and the questioning went on for a while. Discussions about taking care of the planet. Would we like to go to another one or stay on this one? I think he said we would be cloned and seeded onto another planet because this one was possibly not going to survive and we HAD to look after it, especially the animals. We were its guardians. It felt real, you know, one of those 'dreams' where you can feel everything physically and viscerally that feels more like a memory. Where the dream contains things you couldn't have imagined like gyroscopic stabilizing that I would only understand many years later. But I brushed it off. And then one day I walked into a book shop and saw a display of Communion and my heart stopped, because that is what the grey ones looked like and as Bob says, I'd never seen something like this before in media. I know I hadn't. Not even described in a book. My parents didn't let me watch that kind of content and it just wasn't in the kinds of books I read. I felt sick. I left the book shop the way you would if you'd just seen your childhood abuser. I know that's strong language, but the reaction was that strong. I finally got hold of the book and read it, and got choked up with fear that didn't leave me for decades because someone was describing things I had 'dreamed' about without any shared point of reference. Even as an adult, any time I drove through an uninhabited part of the country at night, or was in an unfamiliar place alone, I would be afraid of waking up and seeing those eyes at my eye level staring at me. No memories of bad things happening per se, no goose-neck beings. The strongest takeaway was to treat the planet as if we were its guardians, and there was a suggestion different kids were being told to take care of different things. I know it sounds like YA fiction, I know that. It was a dream, anyway. But. I have wondered, what if different species have passed through. Further on in their own evolution, realising the risk we're at, and have removed some of us for cloning, the way we might an endangered species. Studied in order to protect. Not realising initially the complexity of our nervous systems, the way we've erroneously assumed some species can't feel pain, then later learned of the cruelty we've inflicted on them. What if they visited, did what they needed to do, then moved on, because you don't want to interfere with the colony too much. I don't know. It makes for good science fiction, doesn't it? But maybe there's a tiny chance that kids in the 80s were visited by something from another place. I like to keep it as an open possibility. While of course, still denying I believe in any of it.

I would like to mention the movie, "Dark Skies." Around aged 12 I had a habit of watching movies with my dad at night, most of which we rented from the local redbox(I'm in my 20s now). I came in to our movie/bedroom one night, and my dad was telling me about this movie. He said it was the scariest movie he'd ever seen, not because it was well done but because - and this is what he said - "It could be real." After watching with him, I certainly felt that it was the scariest movie I'd ever seen(partly because dad said halfway through it, "If there really were aliens trying to get us there would be nothing we could do." Thanks dad) but also because I think it is confirmed by the same science that rules out things like ghosts that, if an extra-terrestrial race with technology to cross the cosmos was pursuing you, you could do nothing. I could not sleep well for several nights after. Even now something about the shape of the classic 'grey alien' fills me with uncanny terror. My dad doesn't believe in ghosts, and he finds scary movies: "Hokey" or however you spell that. I think he was right though, despite being a pretty terrible movie, it 'could' be real. I think many people have shared an experience that makes them wonder if the grey alien is more than fiction. I fortunately have not, but seeing videos like this makes me wonder, and I can't sleep right for a few nights again.

I had some kind of a briefcase with a round hole in it and that's what I was going to fill up. At that time I noticed a big creature sitting on top of one of the table displays. It was tall and long, and definitely had a similar kind of reptilian look with a long neck. It ended up saying something off-handedly and I responded. Then it asked, wait can you hear me? I said yes. Then asks, can you see me? Yes. Then it asks, can you touch me? I hesitantly reach my finger out and it kind of bumps its elbow into my finger, and then gets a bit of a sly unnerving smile. I have seen glimpses and snippets of what you call LGAs since I was a kid - I usually just get a sort of "premonition" of one walking through a doorway or around a corner towards me - always when I am alone. I also remember being visited by stereotypical but also not-stereotypical "Greys" at night as a child. I always wrote it off as a result of my Dad being an X-Files fan, but a few years ago I saw a copy of the book you mentioned "Communion" at a car boot sale (I think in America you call them garage sales) and seeing the cover sent an electric bolt of terror down my spine and caused me to remember a lot of it. I remember the feeling you describe of my heart beating so hard it felt like it was going backwards and forwards in my chest. I remember being so scared it was like, but not quite the same as, being in physical pain. So thanks for all the videos over the years, and for this one in particular, for making me realise I might not be alone!

A lot of people are saying that in this comment section, but I'm having a different experience. That alien looks decent and noble and handsome (for an alien) to me? I know a lot of people who have had "dreams" similar to yours with the gray masquerading as a familiar person, both on podcasts and in my personal life. My mother told me when she was a child she dreamed that she woke up to see the then president, his vice president, and the governor of her state (this was in the Nixon years) standing around her bed, quietly discussing something before Nixon asked her questions she can't recall. I have another friend who confided that he frequently had dreams of waking up to find a family member sitting at the edge of his bed that seemed to just be watching him sleep and would sometimes ask questions about completely random things. He says that they were never family members that lived with him or would have any reason to be in the house, let alone his room, sometimes family that lived states away, and that he always had the distinct feeling (for obvious reasons) that whatever it was, it wasn't actually what they appeared to be. I'm glad he only told me that when were adults because it would have made staying over at his house as regularly as I did difficult if I'd known at the time. I recall a podcast where a guest wrote to the hosts, telling about how she'd "dream" that the Count from Seasame Street, of all things, would be in her room at night at the end of her bed or by the window, trying to get her to play with her (this is on the Cryptonaut podcast if anyone wants to listen themselves). The point is that such "dreams" like yours are not unheard of. It's a bit unsettling to consider the implications. But one can hope that they're just that - just really weird dreams.
@lilyw.7196 ай бұрын
Guess what? These kinds of "dreams" immediately cease upon invoking the name of Jesus. Every. Single. Time. And that says everything about what they truly are. I know from personal experience, and all the exorcists say the same thing, along with loads and loads of people online. But people would rather believe any other story than that Jesus Christ is Lord and these night terrors submit to Him, because if they acknowledged that, or even had the intellectual integrity to test it out for themselves and invoked the name of Jesus the next time they had a nightmare, then they would have to acknowledge God and change their lives. They would rather be surrounded by demons than surrounded by God's protection if it means living according to God's laws, which don't change from one generation to the next and which are hard to follow in this day and age. And that is exactly how Bob is, doesn't want to know the truth, and doesn't want to change. A year ago he actually posted a very genuine recording of a demon pretending to be that killer Japanese brown bear that Bob did a documentary on. Recognizing what was going on from personal experience, I reached out to Bob numerous ways, even paid for the privilege to send him several superchat & patreon type messages, and offered to hook him up with my exorcist, one of only 130 exorcist priests in the US. Was Bob interested in help, let alone grateful? Heck no. He just ignored the messages and deleted my paid super chat comments. Class act. Glad I didn't spend any more money on him than I already did. I pity the guy now.

Okay I got 0:45 into the video and the first drawing looking out the window at gray alien thing with a long neck sparked a primal fear in me. I’ve had this memory of a nightmare when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, I had an extremely vivid nightmare where my bedroom door opened and a monster stuck its head in at the top of the door and it had a long neck and it was looking at me. The long neck allowed the creature to move its head down the door frame inside my bedroom in a weird almost mechanical like motion and I got scared really bad and hid my head in my arms on the ground, hoping it would go away. I’ve always remembered this dream and sometimes I have to remind myself it was a dream because I do remember it seeming so real. I have a somewhat memory of telling myself it wasn’t real and I was just dreaming. Well, when I saw your alien drawing, it reminded me very much of my nightmare. The drawing isn’t a dead ringer but it’s pretty close. The face wasn’t a disturbing face, I thought it was a female smiling. But still it was a monster and I was terrified. Well, you can believe me or not but that’s my story of the nightmare I’ve had as a kid and it’s probably the worst one because it’s the only one that I can remember.

I won’t go into details but when I woke up I had the same electronical response and a feeling of deep, deep dread and fear, something I’ve never felt so strongly before or since. My heart was also hammering, literally hammering in my chest. This is going to sound really weird and bizarre, but my relationship with moths has never been the same. I’ve never been cruel to moths in the past, mostly indifferent, but now I treat them with uncommon respect, and never EVER harm them or let them come to harm. Weird isn’t it?

Thanks Bob. I'm so glad you told your own personal story, I'm over 50 and I remember having similar experiences as a little boy, possibly between the ages of 7 to 11 or 12, vivid realistic dreams, or maybe real. At that age my older brother who was 7 years older, shared the bedroom with me, and i distinctly remember my brother was always absolutely dead to the world asleep as those visitors were in our bedroom. Questioning me on mundane ordinary things, which i remember at the time thinking "are these guys stupid or something" Questions like, "what do you eat? What do you drink? How long do you sleep? Why are your eyes blue? What is love? What is laughing? " And sometimes they would ask are you ever in fear? And like in your experience, they sometimes appeared as pop icons of what tv movies or music i liked at the time, i distinctly remember when I was very young. I really loved Star Trek , several times i had Spock and James T Kirk . Yeah, funny enough i was never frightened by them because they'd always say "you're just dreaming" and yes like you i did see from time to time the stereotypical grey aliens, but they looked friendly with softer features.

Funny you mention aliens and tripping. The last mushroom trip I ever took ended up being a bad one, but I did “meet” aliens during that trip. Didn’t realize that was even a common thing. While I was lying on the bed waiting for eternity to end, some aliens opened up a portal in the ceiling and looked down at me and told me to “be patient with your loved ones. We’re all just walking each other home.” Not a good trip, but a good message near the end. Thanks for your thought provoking material, Bob. Also, liking the new artist a lot!

Its a surprisingly common experience with a lot of drugs. I was tripping absolute balls on dph one time with my friends and unfortunately had to get in my car and dip quickly. As I was driving small “Grey” aliens would run out into the road and these vaguely fairy looking creatures that emanated a yellow light would fly out in front of me simultaneously. At first I tried to brake to avoid them, but then I just suddenly realized that I couldn’t “hurt” them and drove calmly and they almost totally went away. As I fought to keep my composure and sort of accepted they weren’t in my way, a disembodied voice started coming from my empty passengers seat. It was a surprisingly calm and soft voice and started giving me words of encouragement. It said something like you can do this you’re doing just fine and you’ll make it home safe. I talked back and forth with the voice a few times but can’t remember what I said. I remember feeling a sense of encouragement though. I wanna say the voice told me don’t worry about the things you’re seeing either because they weren’t real, weren’t actually in the way, or because they weren’t trying to stop me… I can’t remember. I ended up driving home safely. Last thing I remember is pulling in the driveway and putting the car in park. Woke up the next day inside. It was absolutely just the DPH induced delirium, but it was fascinating nonetheless.

With trips you have to have the mental capacity to let your mind take you anywhere… even if it’s terrifying or it feels too painful to focus on etc as long as you embrace the fact that it’s a ride you can’t get off, and that everything you’re experience is happening for a reason… whether it’s our brains helping up deal with things we have been stopping ourselves from subconsciously or it’s some sort of entity idk… it can be difficult to embrace when you have a full loss of ego, which is why you must be well prepared before the trio, and it should always imo be looked at as a spiritual, healing experience and never just to get messed up or trip. If your mind isn’t fully prepared, having an experienced trip sitter that knows what they’re doing and is able to guide you through the experience is fully advisable. I’ve been a trip sitter for multiple friends, always at very very high doses of either psilocybin, LSD or DMT (although most friends who do DMT are very experienced anyway)…

This really struck a chord with me. I too "imagined" entities during childhood. They were upstairs in my house usually, and sometimes would invade my dreams. They are different than Bob's Lanky Grey Aliens, mine were more skeletal, like a blue Grey mummified corpse, but not exactly human, and with frizzy white hair atop their heads, and gaping round eye balls set deep into round skeletal sockets. They also could not pass barriers, (except in dreams they could do whatever they wanted) such as open doors or corners in a hallway, but I could always see them creeping out of the dark bedrooms as I booked it around the corner and down the stairs. They used the sound of the flushing toilet to sneak closer and disguise their movement. So I would flush and then run for dear life. I always told myself they weren't real, except I've never experienced this anywhere but upstairs in that house. In adulthood I told my brother about them and he insists he saw them too. We never discussed it as kids so I was pretty floored when he said "yeah I saw those too" This video really reminds me of a lot of aspects of my experience, and to be frank it's a bit terrifying.

An idea I’ve recently encountered is the idea of the Nous. It’s the way that some ancient peoples like the Greeks thought of the mind. Rather than thinking of it as something like a computer as we do, they thought of it more like a sensory organ. The mind did not (or maybe didn’t just) produce thoughts/mental images. It picked them up from the outside. Almost like an antenna. Now, I’m not saying that your LGAs are real and that while you are “imagining” them “imagining” itself isn’t entirely what you’ve always thought it was. But I’m also not not saying that.

It only happened once so I always assumed it was just an hallucination. However, I do recall not being scared, so if it wasn't just my imagination then perhaps the reason why I never hallucinated anything again is because of my lack of fear? Of course this is just a guess

TLDR: I met a Skinwalker and didn't know it. This reminds me of one I had myself that has changed my mind on some things. When I was 15ish around 05 some friends and I were walking trails in our local wood. Suddenly the trees and bushes began to shake and we heard loud stomps. We stood there frozen for a minute paralyzed, Until one friend piped up and shouted, "Whoever is back their I will kick their ___" To which I heard a voice from the bush mimic my friends voice exactly but in a mocking and immature tone repeating back the same line" I was shocked we went and checked it out. And there was No one, nothing not even a squirrel. This was along a small cliff so fleeing would require a serious struggle and would not go unnoticed. Later I mentioned the voice and asked how could the person have gotten away without us seeing them. My friends all agreed they had not heard any voice.. I assumed it was just my imagination and forgot about it. Many years later I began listening to Creepy pasta and what not when I stumbled upon the urban legends of the Skinwalkers and Wendigos. I heard a near exact same story as my own. How it was common for them to mimic voices and what not. It really changed my perspective.

For some resson, and I'm only realizing this now, I thought I has to swim underwater the whole way back, when my instructor probably meant for me to come back up to the surface of the water after I dove in and then swim to the wall. So anyways, I dive off the diving board, and swim underwater towards the shallow end, and right when I get within about a foot or two from the wall I feel like my lungs are burning from holding my breath so long, and I just remember desperately wanting to reach the wall or else I would fail the test, but I stayed underwater for some reason, and right when I felt like my lungs would burst lack of oxygen, all of a sudden I took in a huge gulping breath and I just remember being stunned and amazed that I was breathing underwater 😮 like the painful urge to breathe just randomly disappeared and I very distinctly remember feeling myself taken in a huge breath underwater. Nothing was ever said of this within the family till my brother recounted that ‘dream’ to me. I later asked dad about it, and he confirmed it, adding a few details as an adult experiencing it would. Crazy. Makes me very aware of why adult humans do not speak of strange happenings (like so many of the subjects of Bob’s videos), but just keep it in. And the way you can almost feel your entire heart pounding in what feels like a 3D perception when you wake up or when you are under your blanket hiding. Damn Bob. Great job.Do you get the feeling they misrepresent themselves for their own convenience? I remember thinking this while being carried on one of their backs down my stairs and THROUGH our back door- "They think I'm a stupid human and that I can't see them." My memory stops there...I was between 4-5 during this memory because we moved from this house when I was 5. Ugh, I need a tums. Always a great day when you post, man. Keep that shit coming.

Some people have encountered them as toddlers, and they disguised themselves as (I am not kidding) characters from Sesame Street. A KZbin channel called Beyond Creepy features videos about this type of encounter. I believe they have the ability to alter your perception of them in order to make the experience more advantageous for them.

Omgosh this is weird synchronicity. Yes they do appear to many as muppets or characters and Belief Hole podcast also does a couple episodes on exactly this phenomenon. I too was visited by these awful things at 5-6 years old. I just wrote out my own account last night after 48 years of not ever telling anyone about it. I didn’t realize Bob was an experiencer. Much more common happenstance than I ever imagined I suppose.

It seems to me that the human mind would rather create a reality that is familiar, rather than confront an uncomfortable reality that it doesn't even really understand, less so the visitor's doing and moreso yours, not to say that it doesn't take full advantage of your minds willingness to believe a falsehood.

So true. "They get close but can't touch us". When i was 7, one was under my bed. It touched my hair and i held my breath until i passed out. Looking back, It could have been the cat but it was probably an alien.

Might I recommend "Spaceman" by the Killers?! It's the perfect inspirational song for abductees...The first time I heard it I was in another room when it came on the radio, I understood every lyric immediately and burst into tears! Of course, not unlike Bigfoot experiencers, nobody believes you, and you quickly learn to keep your weird "dreams" to yourself! Glad you're able to share this experience with a broader audience! For my part, It's clear that my interest in Cryptids stems from my childhood experiences with the grey, bulbous-headed, night visitors

Bob, I love your way of telling stories - very apt descriptions! I also can relate to the electrical feeling you had. I had a legit spiritual haunting back in summer 2006. It was like being engulfed in water, all the walls creaked, and an ear piercing frequency and dropping numbing cold. And I recall electricity running from my toes all the way up my legs. It was utterly bizarre yet extremely palpable. All the while, I lay nestled beneath my blankets on a summer's night, too afraid to budge lol. I remember being so excited that I told my parents in the morning only for mum to say "it was just the wind", and then a friend, "you're lying". Sigh.

Weird. When I was about 8 I once saw a black helicopter flying very low over the city with its propellers spinning slowly and making no sound. No one else seemed to take notice of it but I didn't consider they weren't seeing it, just thought it was normal so they were ignoring it. So I ignored it too. Then many years later I saw a documentary about MIB's Men in Black and they often appears with silent black helicopters that flew low with slow propeller speeds. What are the chances that complete strangers describe the exact same thing I saw that we collectively imagined, apparently?
