My last trip to Hangzhou was in 2001. Am sure it's been transformed from just being a historic place to a high-tech city! Hope to make a trip there again! In fact, hope to be able to visit China again when it reopens its borders for travels.. Haven't been to the northern parts (江北) of China... have only been to the souther parts of China (江南)

You would think there are some good stories in China for western media to report on occasionally. But the western media literally just look for negative news or twist positive news into negative news about China. This is the problem with the free press. They only like free press when it reports on what they like. At least KZbinrs let people can see the other side of China.

That villgae of Xixing looks interesting and I wonder if you can get boat trips along the canal? My wife's brother lives in Hangzhuo, but we haven't seen this village, although we had a great day out in Xiaoxing, where they make the wine used in Chinese cooking. These great videos make up in some way, for not being able to get to China for past 3 years.
