It was honestly nonsense and unnecessary. Could have made the job sign up go straight to the dig, would have made sense to hire expendable foreign workers, and he was far too accepting of the shitty deal they gave him, and not at all angry about being locked up for no reason. Just an emotionless blob. Issue wouldn't exists if the story had gone straight to the hole.

@@TheDizeazedKiller It may not be "necessary" for the Chinese government to operate like the Gestapo, but they do it anyway. Aside from The Descent, this reminds me of a show I saw when I was young. A family sends stuff like food down a hole, and pull up gold after they do. The dad decides to go down and see what's up, so he puts on an old diving suit and gets lowered down. When they pull him back up, the suit is full of gold. Wish I could remember that show.
@TheKrispyfort6 ай бұрын
It was an episode of 'The Outer Limits'. The Hole People thought "dad" was just another foodstuff that she'd been sharing. "... called chicken. What else do you have?"
@ventiankraus7776 ай бұрын
@TheKrispyfort My friend, I have great news. I originally watched the aforementioned episode 30 years ago, and because of your help, it has finally been located. The show was called "Amazing Stories." Spielberg was apparently a producer, but I had never heard of it until last year. The episode was from season 2 and originally aired in the year of Our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty six. It was titled "Thanksgiving" and starred David Carradine of all people. 😆 I apparently caught a rerun by chance and honestly believed it was just lost media at this point. Kind of embarrassing as the show was kind of popular. I know this is completely irrelevant to everyone; but thanks to the additional criteria you provided, I was able to finally track down a mildly significant part of my childhood. Inner earth wise, I only knew of worms, quicksand, and Graboids at that point in my life, so this showing added to my intrigue of what might lay beneath. I know it is silly, but I sincerely cannot thank you enough for your help. On a side note: Google and reddit, I'm sorry for badmouthing you, you really came through this time. Thanks.
