I’ve been fighting for appropriate care for my father whose a veteran and older and it’s honestly been frustrating and painful and I’m disgusted by our healthcare system. When the day comes to an end I honestly just want to crawl under a rock and disappear but when LH drops a new story it gives me the opportunity to just get out of that headspace and listen to a great story by a great narrator and for that I truly thank you. To be able to just forget, even for 40 minutes is such a blessing. So thank you Stephen, thank you.

Speaking as a veteran. The VA is especially treacherous. Under the Obama administration the VA was busted hiring doctors with revoked medical licenses. They were notorious for "death-listing", poor maintenance, improper mental health treatment and intentionally creating scheduling conflicts. Under the Biden administration the VA began diverting veteran healthcare funds to support illegal immigrants. The point I'm making, this is what government healthcare looks like. It gets down right evil when administered by the corrupt.

@@nil_nux556 well his name is his name because his parents are from the infamous families and when they realized what they’d done each family wanted to give him their surname which in those times was impossible because they were not married because they couldn’t get married as their families were feuding for decades. So they gave him both names and our surname. Back in those days it was serious business but he was passed land from each family to succeed in the country. He chose his mother’s hometown and he was a successful businessman and husband and father. It is a lot to that but I can’t write it all here. Slavery was nasty business.

@@Kendro311 yes indeed that’s his true name. My uncle unfortunately passed during covid. He was a Korean War veteran and the mayor, fire department and the auto mechanic in Cullen. My uncle was the king of his town. He married the belle of the town, my aunt Ruby. She was the most beautiful woman I ever saw in my life to this day. Her daddy was named Hiawatha and so is his son and his son. The good old boys are good people sometimes. I like the subtext of this story. Kind of breaks down what is good and what is bad morally. You do a bad thing to keep the car/you alive so you can do something good for someone else. At least, for the main character, for Earl, he was essentially roped into doing bad things to stay alive when all he wanted was to indulge his hobby. Maybe the moral of the story for Earl is that hobbies are good, but if you let them consume you, it can become terrible. idk what do you guys think?

A fascinating story - I liked how it evolved. I have to say there is a follow-up story where the author's wife and child get eaten alive... lol. It would not be a truck anyone who lives with a wife and young child would want anywhere near their family unless they no longer wanted a wife and child.

Does anyone recall a story on KZbin where a man ams his friend/brother had a sighting of some huge creature and told his friend (maybe brother) they should go back only this time with a handgun. They drove back to where he had the sighting up in some enclosed area of the woods whereupon a second massive creature shows up and essentially blocks them in. It was a few years back that i read this story. A host narrates/retells it as he does his other videos. Shot in the dark just hoped someone will recognize the story. It was told well and gave me a bit of the creeps.
