That is what I needed. I was confused when my Chinese language teacher was saying 'e' every time differently and I couldn't see the pattern. Thank you Grace :)

This is exactly what I need to learn Mandarin. I have been looking for this kind of lessons for a long time. I finally found a GREAT Chinese teacher here. Ms Guo teaches Mandarin in detail. I like the way you show us both Traditional and Simplified form of Chinese so that we can learn both at the same time. I wish you could write the characters on top of Chinese characters Bigger. Thank you Ms. Guo. You"re an excellent Chinese teacher.👍🙂🙏🏾

I’ve been using your videos to improve my pronunciation, and have noticed that this happens much less often. Thanks so much.

Great phonetics work here! Because you brought it up, I noticed that where I lived in China, a lot of people _always_ pronounced "er" as "ar", for any word. I never paid attention to it before...

Oooh I never noticed this. I've actually started learning Cantonese via Jyutping and lamented how inconsistent I found a lot of pronunciation and lamenting about how much consistent I thought PinYin was. Guess I just got used to it. Some of those sounds, I didn't think sounded different but I guess you're being pretty thorough and I appreciate that :-)

I've learned a lot form this vid as a native speaker lol ;) but I'm wondering why in this video January is pronounced as *yíyuè* instead of *yīyuè* ? Im asking because the rule is when 一 (yī) appears as an ordinal number (as in "first"), or as a number in a series, address, or date, it is pronounced without the tone change (regular first tone "yī")
Do you teach? Do you have a Chinese program to start from scratch? Thanks

Everyone should check out your zhuyin video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3yrZnx-nceIi6M I like the "your turn" parts! It's unfortunate that pinyin seems to be used more than zhuyin/bopomofo. Having learned with both, I've always felt that zhuyin makes pronunciation very clear, whereas there's some uncertainty with pinyin. Maybe there will be a video sometime where lao shi will start singing: "bo po mo fo, de te ne le" 😂 (I didn't know there were so many versions. I like one that I saw in Qiao Hu)
