Chinese lobbying companies do try to influence the government of the UK and also individuals but so does the farming lobby and pharmaceutical lobby etc. They are quite open about what they are trying to do. It seems strange that the head of a lobbying company is accused of trying to influence People.

Agreed. It's just the British Business establishment pulling up the drawbridge. We could circumvent the Tariffs by assembly of Chinese EVs in the UK. It would bring industry and investment and jobs into the British market. When they talk about British Interests they don't mean yours or mine. They mean the establishment interests.
