Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 18 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible concerning his grandfather's death. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started this KZbin Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. Through the music and the stories he began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Having been lost and now found, this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him.
Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. He is a man on a mission to spread the love of God to everyone that comes to this channel. Whether you come to stay or are just passing by, we pray your soul is touched by The Holy Spirit and that you are changed forever! 🧡What are your thoughts on the Disciples wanting understanding in their ability to heal others? What do you think would be your biggest challenge if Jesus bestowed this gift to you?
@yoshekaalford2865

They were new to the gift that JESUS bestowed upon them. Their natural minds wanted to grasp the "how was it possible" of it all. My biggest challenge as a believer would be not wanting people to think that I did the healing and to possibly idolize me as being something more than just a vessel that CHRIST uses. :)

Leo. You are such an inspiration to me ,(you and Erika). My first live chat. Your transparency is so real and, as coming from a man, rare in this day and age. imo You have a beautiful relationship with Jesus. I guess I would struggle with not knowing where the power to heal came from and yet not wanting to take credit for what was happening.

Sometimes "understanding" gets in the way of faith. We're taught in the NT the way of faith is simply obeying what He said, not reasoning it out. Mark 11:22-24

My take is, when you think too much, sometimes you miss the whole point. I agree 100% with what you said towards the end. The point is obedience and trust to God. The point is to give freely what we have been giving freely.

Leo, just finished this and as you were asking about the disciples all I could think about was Nicodemus. The total opposite. Do you remember he thought he had healed Mary? Also, the generic reading of scriptures of the Jewish leaders compared to the teaching of Jesus and the disciples.

My favorite thing about episode 4 is how even though they love Jesus, follow Him faithfully, etc...they still couldn't believe that they were able to heal and perform miracles until it actually happened. And I just think that is so fitting for today's time too. There has been so many times where, even though I know that God is all powerful and bigger than anything we may face, I still have been shocked when He shows up and shows out in my life or friends and families. It's almost like I never really understood how much bigger He is until He shows up and shows out. Lol.

In order for us to not “own” healing or any other gift of ministry that God gifts through His Spirit, it’s important to understand that we are given these gifts for the sake of the gospel - to share with others the goodness and kindness of God in the Son. When we aren’t mindful and humbled that it is ALL about Jesus it is easier to make it about us.

I find that when us woman say I’m fine it is normally when we don’t want other people to see our emotions. They are for us and us only. There are often very few people in the world we can open up to, and often we don’t.

And this is something everyone (mostly women but also men) should work on. If something is bothering us we should speak up about it. Especially in a relationship. Lack of communication is what destroys alot of marriages. Yes, I am also guilty of this.

Leo, what the apostles are experiencing is the Spirit upon them, like the prophets and kings of the OT. What is coming after Jesus' resurrection is the Holy Spirit in us. Then, like in Acts 2, they get the Holy Spirit upon them while having the Spirit in them.

I think little James and Judas hit the nail on the head. James said he could feel Jesus giving him the words to say. Judas said Jesus was working through them. That is the understanding that they needed to have. The apostles had to understand this before Jesus was crucified, so they knew to listen to the Spirit once he was gone.

About the Power: I learned long ago that the thing that will trip up spiritual teachers the most, is if they become popular in the mainstream. As we unfold in our spiritual understanding, study and gain spiritual clarity, we will be tested. And we are wise to see that popularity and the money that might be generated, is our next test. We have to always be clear where the true power originates. Pride goeth before the fall, if we forget and think we own it. That is why John is addressed by Philip, to be careful. Power will always be the undoing and is the undoing in many American churches who build with crystals, instead of housing for the street-folks. Thank you for the opportunity to speak. Love your questions.

43:06 Tamar is not being rude in any way, she is being proactive and this can sometimes seem like being rude, over-anxious, and intimidating. Tamar comes from affluence as she mentioned the places she has been, and she is also an Egyptian. But mary on the other hand had lost her father at a very young age and fell into ill repute, and lack of education. Therefore: Mary I believe is feeling overwhelmed because she cannot figure out Tamar's angle.

I liked your example of using an iPhone without knowing all its functionality, however I also think it's good to seek understanding for something you don't understand rather than leaning on one's own understanding and the disciples were right to want to ask. If Jesus gave me this gift of healing the biggest challenge would be staying humble and not forgetting it's a partnership with Jesus who gives and takes away.

Regarding the issue with Eden and Simon I am so on Eden side and understand her. I am so her being loving and compassionate tying to put the other above myself and then feel railroaded by the person I am trying to serve and then get resentful and upset and start to close my heart. The person picked that up with me and try's to find out what is going on to fix it while I am trying to get my work down that I was asked by them which gets me more upset. Even when Simon was asking what he had done or not done the viewpoint was all on him. Not how are you? Is there something you wanted to talk about? Are you ok? Nothing. Things are not going well for Simon so he takes it out on those who have come to him. I see Jesus as protecting Eden when she said she was going for a walk, without having to respond to Simon when he deemed it time to talk or share. I would love it if you and Erika would love to have a conversation regarding this. I think it would be greatly helpful. My husband and I are doing better and we are communicating a lot better since he been working at home and his illness but before this was what I was dealing with. Maybe this illness is here to help me open up and share because I would not if our lives were the same as usual.

1. Re: Understanding- there is a place for both understanding and immediate compliance with or without understanding. I think wisdom and maturity in the natural and spiritual inform a person to know which is the path. Here in the story, Jesus is clear-the lesson here is to obey and in the process they will be learning to trust God- a foundational key. That was all the understanding needed to start and obey. Understanding would more likely come after the obedience- like "Oh. I get it now because I learned this and that." And if no enlightenment occurs, then we must trust He knows best. "To obey is better than sacrifice." My mom and dad used to tell me "When I say STOP, you freeze. No matter what." And they drilled me on it because they knew there would be times I was headed for grave danger with no time to explain, and the urgency required immediate stopping. I can trust Christ when I don't understand because He is Who He is, and I am not... 2. Re: Archie- On another note, many dogs hang themselves b/c they finally clear the fence but collar and chain or lead becomes a noose when the body falls on other side of fence. Using a vest will help him not to choke, just hang by his body, not neck, giving more time for rescue. 3. Respect and love to you and your family! 4. PPS😂 You stated the difference in genders for focus well. Women think more globally. Men's thinking is more linear. Yes?

Pinned question for this video: Wanting to understand with the human mind does not set forth the miracles.... we have tendency as humans to set limits and expectations as to when and how the healings/miracles will turn out. But thats not how God works most of the time and sometimes His timing and ways can burst our bubbles ending up in disappointment and eventually resenting God. It is better to have the understanding after all the miracles have already happened so that we know that nothing we ever did came from our strength, skill and mind so that we can boast, but instead all came from the mercies, grace and power of our God My take on healing miracles: Coming from a medical background, it was a bit of a struggle for me to understand healing through faith and by declaration/prayer in the Name of Jesus when i started living the Christian life. I have knowledge of the body and how it normally gets healed so that it became a block for me to go beyond what I know to be possible. But God is patient with me as He shows and reveals to me healing miracles just by prayer and Declaration according to how much i was willing to allow Him to work in me. I get mind blown by His faithfulness. I still need to deal with doubt and unbelief every now and then but I pray that one day, I will have full confidence to be able to heal by God's power and grace through the leading of the Holy Spirit so that my God may be glorified __ A challenge with such gifts is "receiving the gift in spirit but finishing it out in the flesh". This is a hard lesson I learned when God gave me and prepared me for the gift of casting out demons (my testimony begins with demon possession). There was one time in a dream/vision when I was being attacked by demons and I did what I would usually do to cast them out but they remained then I got overcome by them. With no strategy left I called out “God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, help me!" Then the demons left just like that. I asked the LORD why I wasnt able to cast it out and it was impressed in my heart an understanding that came from God: I cannot do it on my own. I can only cast out demons if God is with me. Without Him I can do nothing. (John 15). These gifts too can result in pride and self righteousness even to believers: two of the reasons why Lucifer was cast down to hell...so there is need to have heart check often: to mantain a humble, repentant, contrite heart surrendered completely to the LORD

I've have struggled sometimes when some people come up and ask why I am so nice or kind and I get scared that if I bring up Jesus what would they say or think. Yet when it is something I have done that has been Jesus through me there is no way I can take credit for it. Why because usually it is in encouraging words and speaking into someone's life and I may remember the first sentence the Holy Spirit gave me to say but then when I allow Him to take over I then say a paragraph and I have no idea where that came from. I can't even remember everything I said. I know its potent I know it was true but there is no way I can repeat what I said. So if I said it was me I would be a liar and I have learned that lying takes so much more energy then just telling the truth. I don't have the mental capacity or communication of the ability to talk my way out of anything. So no way could I take the credit. There has been times I struggle with understanding and I feel Jesus comes and talks to me like He did with little James. He did not tell everything but explains just enough so I can continue to walk and trust. Sometimes He just asked if I trust Him. The only way I have stayed with Him is because in Grade Seven when I prayed those dangerous prayers I prayed that He would keep me near Him for I knew I could easily fall away. He is the one who keeps me near. not myself.

Torah with military figure: they had misunderstanding of the timing of this event. Messiah becomes heroic figure on His second coming in book of revelation ( also day of Judgment described by book of Amos). The Jews have had history of being stubborn and hard hearted so that they continued to refuse what God is showing them, they continued to be wise in their own eyes. Ezekiel 19 would even say they refused God's wisdom from one God-chosen prince to another. One part of the Torah they forbid to talk about is Isaiah 53 (suffering servant) because it does not fit the puzzle of their concept of military figure

26:18, Leon you were asking about what the Torah spoke about concerning Jesus as a military figure. When we go back into the scriptures we see that the Jews were looking for freedom from imperial bondage ex: Egypt. in the 1st century it was Romans' subjugation or bondage. However, the self-righteousness of the Sanhedrin wanted a man-deliverer to free the nation from Roman oppression. But Jesus came to set them free from spiritual bondage. this the Sanhedrin did not approve of because had made seeing eyes blind and blind eyes seeing.

The Torah did not say he would comeback as a military warrior to distinguish the Romans for their oppression of the Jews. The Jews expected HIM to be that way. They wanted to be free of oppression more than to be saved from sin. This is one of the reasons why The Pharisees had a problem with JESUS.

No, the Torah only says the God would provide a new leader for Isarel to guide them. It was the prophet the created the figure of this king from the root of Jesse (David's father) who would stand like a banner to the nations of the world. Since this king is from the line of David, they jumped to the conclusion he was going to be a military leader that would save them from the oppression of Rome just like David did in his days.

Understanding: human understanding is limited, it cannot completely comprehend God's understanding even if Jesus tried to give understanding. It was too vast to grasp (psalm 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!). God's understanding comes to fill up our understanding if we remain an empty vessel for Him (devoid of our preconceived notions, strongly held beliefs and superstitions) : Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. " As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

There are females who are like Males and like Simon. I am like that. Just tell me what I did wrong. I am not a mind reader. No. I don't know what I did. Tell me already. Out with it.

I think the misconception is just what they are concerned about. Is that what Jesus knows and it may be Gods will they are because of what Jesus whole life is about he knows what is coming and what he must be fulfill.

Yeah it annoyed me how quick tamar wanted to sell other people's stuff without permission but not her own. I know her reasons for her attachment to the jewelry but it doesn't give her the right to act entitled over other's things and complain

I am not holding her about the jewelry thing because pair that with her reluctance on speaking about her background, I had an inkling that necklace had a story to explain why. So I just waited for Tamar to say her side.

PLEASE...it is very important to know what is scripture and what is a story added to create a show. I LOVE many parts of The Chosen, BUT I am always evaluating what is from scripture and what has been added to fill in a story. It's dangerous to assume everything that is presented is true. Plausible, perhaps. True, probably not. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

I think by now most know not everything is scriptural in the Chosen but that does not take away the almost true realistic nature of the depicted relationships, creativity and plausibility of the show. It also somehow inspires one to go and read the Bible on a realistic level more than before.

@@robbie8129 exactly. I YT feed still gets recommendations of videos of people putting down the chosen and saying how it's not scripture and we're almost to season 4 and people are still on about it even though the disclaimer was made back in season 1. Watching the show just makes me reread the Gospels and do my own historical research on things I didn't know before watching. Really is amazing.

I believe that Eden is either pregnant or has had a miscarriage, and wanted to talk with Simon about it, and instead he didn’t want to talk, or even ask her about what life was like when he was gone. Hence the, “Much has happened since then” comment.

Honestly I still put 70% of the blame on her. As the episodes progress you see Peter asks her what he did wrong but she just lashes back about him asking. So he tries but she doesn't make it better

Having been in that situation- it’s complicated. And the longer between the “pregnancy announcement” and the miscarriage announcement, the more difficult. You have to tell your partner that you WERE expecting a baby, but now are not. It’s a hard pronouncement to make.

Imagine living in a time where your religion makes the laws that you have to follow! And you can only learn about the Bible from their schools. Following Anything else is blasphemy to their ways and you will be an outcast. Thank goodness for Jesus showing others the way to truth! Pharasee's seemed to esteem themselves above everyone else, which was opposite to what Jesus taught. The pharsee's must have been Jealous as they could not heal as Jesus and his deciples did; they were just following orders and traditions that were ineffective and Jesus was led by his father in heaven!

I think they mistook poetry for reality, with all the "warrior" references in the Old Testament. And wishful thinking.

Forgive me if I don't trust the theology that comes from writers who make things up about the life of Jesus. I'd rather get it from the actual Word of God. Christians need to wake up to the dangers this show presents.

I appreciate the warning, if you watch Season 1 Episode 1 and a few interviews with Dallas Jenkins, you’ll see that he tells you his intentions with the show. He says some of the backstories were made up and that this isn’t a show meant to replace the Bible in any way. He encourages people to read the Bible alongside the show so that you don’t mix the two up.

No..the Pharasie is reading the "oral" law...never given by God but the many laws the religious rabbi's created to make sure everyone adhered to Moses laws. 613. endless, meaningless laws.
