I am so blessed by this series and teaching for the depth and the pure expository teaching of the Word of God. I come from a place " expository teaching" was so littered with commentaries of theologians and personal antidotes, power point presentations it lost all continuity and flow of the scriptures. So weighted down that all meaningful in depth heart of the Word was trampled by empty fluff and content so heavily laden with glitter and sparkles it blinded the message unrecognizable. Praise GOD that ALL GLORY GOES TO THE ALMIGHTY FATHER & SON CHRIST JESUS. Father Blessed your Son Tim with a rare and righteous gift. Thank you Father GOD for the purity of Your Word spoken here. Amen Amen

Christians can read the New Testament, from Matthew to John, but always pray before reading, because the Bible is not an ordinary book. It's the living Word of God. Amen I read the Bible and I know what I'm talking about.

So by what was said about John 6:25-27, why do we pray “in Jesus’ name”?
@Eben_Haezer3 жыл бұрын
because only through him we have access to Father . Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. Eph 3:12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

Its paramount we pray at all times and give praise. It's also imperative we listen to Jesus, even when the teaching is difficult..... consider Matthew 23:2 Jesus said; ""The teachers of law and the pharisees are seated in the chair of Moses, therefore do whatever they tell you, and observe it."" Does that contradict what you've been taught about Paul? Here we have Jesus telling us to observe what they say about what Moses wrote. How do Christians get past this?

The new covenant was not yet in place therefore everyone was still under the law. Jesus was frequently calling out the teachers and Pharisees so naturally one thought would be to therefore ignore them and what they say if they’re so messed up. Jesus here is clarifying that since even though they are messed up, the law is still good and in place and therefore needs to be adhered to as they taught. The problem was the hypocrisy in the teachers. After the new covenant is given, we’re no longer under law but under grace, not that the law is bad or done away with, it’s written on our hearts and we’re to walk by the Spirit since the law has been fulfilled through Christ.

@@d3anims97 I'm not saying your wrong but, we have clear examples of the apostles holding to various parts of God's instruction that moses wrote. So when are we supposed to lay aside these commands?
@d3anims973 жыл бұрын
@@qw2ps4 That’s why I said that law is written on our heart, we’re to walk by the Spirit, and as God said, He will instruct us. If the objective is to follow the letter of the law, then let’s check the fabric our clothing is made from, let’s check the ingredients of every meal, and let’s observe feasts etc. but if our people objective is the spirit of the law then we know the former is truly about fellowship and allegiance to the world and the latter, the feasts, are meant to point to Christ. There are parts they followed but also part they specified weren’t necessary. Paul still went to feasts and Sabbaths yet also writes that they aren’t required, John and Peter also writes of the moral purity and godly character we’re mean to grow in which comes from loving obedience to the word yet held an entire council where the Spirit gives what is expected of new believers since many tried to get them to completely adhere to Moses. All scripture is God breathed so the same Jesus that said listen to the Pharisees at that time is the same Jesus whose Spirit inspired the apostles to write what they wrote about living and obeying this life. There is no contradiction. I’ve had moments in the past where I thought I had to observe Sabbath, and I did to the best of my ability but after prayer I realized that I was just trying to follow the letter because the Spirit of that law is resting in Christ’s work, not my own. Saying we’re not under the law isn’t me saying we ignore the law, like Paul said, we obey the law but the law isn’t about days or rituals or feasts it’s about love and God’s pure character

@@d3anims97 We all know the apostles kept the holy days and the instructions written down by Moses well after Jesus ascended. So why is that? Well, Malachi 3 tells us about the 2nd coming of Messiah. It talks about purifying the sons of Levi. In verse 4 it reads "" And the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the Lord as in the days of old and years gone by." Verse 14 God says: You have said: "" It is useless to serve God. What have we gained by keeping His requirements and walking mournfully before the Lord of hosts?"" Verse 16 At that time, those who feared the Lord, spoke to one another. The Lord heard and listened. So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared God and had high regard for His name. Here's the importance of His ways. Verse 17 "" They will be mine, a special possession on the day I am preparing. """ So I believe the instructions God gave Israel and the mixed multitudes with them, are not only important..... But they're very important to HIM, as He states there in Malachi! So God gave us all free will, for those that want to join with Him, to be close, there is a book with your name in it. You just have to want it more than you want the world! How about you?

@@qw2ps4 I’m confused. I already said we’re to keep the law, I don’t by any means promote an abuse of grace like living in sin but the same apostles that observed the feasts also said it wasn’t required because it was a shadow of Christ, who has come. There’s nothing wrong with observing them yet it isn’t sinful not to. Now if you mean to say that doing so brings one closer to God and makes them more pleasing to Him I’d also be a bit confused because by that logic, churches throughout history that have suffered and died for his name and were strengthened by His Spirit to bring the gospel out still and grow weren’t that pleasing to God because they didn’t or even couldn’t observe feasts. That’s like saying the church in China or India who die almost daily, literally, aren’t as pleasing as someone who observes feasts to God,. If we’re following the law to the letter, then we should be stoning sinners(which was still absolutely just and good, God is holy and righteous), not enter the homes of unbelievers, and we need to erect a temple asap because when Jesus broke the bread and gave the wine it was during Passover and we need the temple for a sacrifice, and every believer needs to be making trips to Jerusalem every year. Feasts and rituals can no longer be done to the letter and God allowed that for a reason, so we can look to the Son and be strengthened to obey and have fellowship by the Spirit not relying on the law but on His grace which is the power to overcome sin and be conformed to His image
