ive always enjoyed the character. he is an enigma, almost super human compared to any other person in the movies.

Vin Diesel was made for this role, just as Arnie WAS the Terminator.

Out of all of Vin Diesel's 'Bad-ass dude' roles, this one's got to be my favorite.

At the time we filmed the movie, i had to train Riddick on this planet for the scene. Took three trips to crematoria. It was so damn hot.

This franchise is under-rated in a number of ways, but for me I've always found the fact that it incorporated science into science fiction in a way so few such films do to be most underappreciated. From the amazing opening scene of the first film with the cometary debris to the way orbital dynamics plays an important role in the first and second films, and planetary weather in the 3rd - one can include the poison as well. Riddick was more of a scientist in how he approached the poison than any of the actual scientists in Prometheus...it's actually astounding how good the franchise is in that respect.
