Back in the day when Ed Cherney and I would walk our dogs through the Venice canals, we would always talk about music and production. Just about every time, Chuck’s name would come up and Ed would smile and shake his head and say yeah, he’s the real deal. Chuck is the gold standard as a musician’s engineer and by that measure, he sets the bar so that we all can have a chance to succeed in making great records.

I was a kid pre-internet and I always looked inside the records I loved to see where they were recorded, who produced it and who the engineers were- it’s a little easier these days, but so many times I’ve heard a great record and went to look up who Engineered it and it was Chuck. Over the years, I've used my Waves plugins less and less because of their update plans and this lastest subscription model will definitely end my relationship with the plugins and if I update my operation system, then yep it's bye bye. I'll miss some of them through if I'm honest. RIP Waves.
