Have loved this band since high school, but………wish they had never lost there original drummer. He fit them SO much better!!

everything after Ploog was a little too ponderous and turgid for me ... although the first album was Nick Ward on drums, so it's very narrow lane if he's the original you are referring to ... but essentially, yeah. & I have massive respect and admiration still for Kilbey as songwriter and lyricist. But what pisses me off more than any of that, is that oaf from Powderfinger. Sorry, never could bloody stand them.

Absolutely gorgeous music. So happy you posted this. I've been enjoying the beautiful jingle gangle guys since the 80s and never get tired of their perfect vibes.

I think the solo during Hotel Womb put the Ricky out of tune - it looks like he passes it to a sound man who hands him the Jazz!
@skdemos16297 ай бұрын
he needed the jazzmaster because the final solo needs that kind of tremolo

there's a weird dynamic going on, none of them look happy, or seem to be enjoying themselves, little interaction, the blocking is strange, and choice of songs.. two places especially drags, the whole thing lacks oumph...

I used to read Steves blog - The Time Being but life can be mischievious at times and I stopped reading, so anyhoo... Some years ago a very loud party was under way at his apartment complex, and given that the noise was very loud Steve has no choice but to find the source and see if they could turn it down. Steve finds the apartment and knocks on the door and after what seemed like forever the door opens and two young men are looking at him. He tells them that the noise is very loud and can be heard all throughout the complex. Now, as Steve is talking one of them is staring and remarks : " You look familar, I've seen you somewhere before." To which Steve tells him that he is the singer from the band The Church. And the young man replies: " No, it wasnt you, I have no idea who you are or of your band." They agree to turn down the music and noise, and Steve leaves. I've always loved this story and can just picture Steve explaining who he was...😊.
