Respect. Rules. Learning. That is exactly what strengthens the spirit. We need to know control comes with options and not the opposite. That is what Circassians are dealing with right now.

This is wonderful information, thank you. I have been fascinated with the beauty of the Circassian dancing and the beauty of the Circassian people for quite some time now. I noticed in the video you do not mention "lezginka." How is this related to the Circassian culture, if in any way. To me it looks like lezginka is another name for Circassian dance. Thant you, again.
Neatly done. A wee bit of correction for the beginning: While some of the dances' character is associated with "soaring eagles", this is not the case for the most as each has its own; some are associated with the galloping of horses or the sun, et cetera. While these dances are used as a form of affection between young Circassians in the present day, they also had a religious significance in Circassian paganism - some used literally for worship. While the religious meaning has been lost to history by the majority of Circassian society, there are still small pockets of communities who do remember and practise the pagan rituals.
@DanceJournals4 жыл бұрын
thank you very much for your comment! you are definitely right, we also want to dig into that aspect of the dances more; how they include some elements from pagan times and how the religious rituals are reflected upon dance. This is a great contribution that you've stated, thanks!

is circassian same with turkish? this is a genuine question, not trolling
@1xyz69924 жыл бұрын
We are not the same. I am a circassian or adyghe as we call ourselves. We are originally from the north caucasus. Our mother tongue and culture differs from turkish people. Due to russia occupying the caucasus and the following genocide of the circassians (and other north caucasian ethnicities) in the 19th century, many circassians had to leave their home country for the ottoman empire. That's why we circassians live in different countries (e. Albania, syria, israel, jordan,.libya, egypt, romania, iraq etc.)which were all part of the ottoman empire back than. But most of us live in Turkey. Only a little minority is living in Circassia. That's why we became a diaspora nation.

Shamil At-Turki 'Tatar' Who is the “we” ?
@genesis29363 жыл бұрын
Shamil At-Turki It was a genuine question ! You mistook it for “sarcasm”. Now that I have your attention, who are the “Kurds” ? They claim territory in Iran, Iraq, Syria and the largest group is Turkey. In fact, 20% of the Turkish population are ethnically Kurds. Is Turkey prepared to give them vast lands they claim to be ethnicity theirs and become a sovereign nation ? So far, Turkey has done nothing to address the issue, anytime they protest, Turkey brutally suppress them even outside of recognized international borders such as Iraq and Syria under the pretext of protecting the “Turkmen” minority yet a clear violation of international aggression. It would be interesting to explain this as you have nearly 20 million citizens claim to be of the Kurdish ethnicity. They want to build a new nation of Kurdistan !

@Shamil At-Turki no, there are circassians in Kosovo too.
@YouTubeUniversity-ko8ug3 жыл бұрын
@Shamil At-Turki You are wrong, there are some Circassians in Albania & in Romania The Circassians are the real indigenous people of the Caucasus & they rule Anatolia 2 times thousands of years ago The Turks are from Asia migrated about 1200 years ago to Anatolia
