If you want to know how to feel and master the circle of speed, this is a good start. Bring the practice home.
Online lesson are now a possibility on Skillest: skillest.com/a...
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. I call it the circle of speed. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. Everything that you find on the internet isn’t true. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead are two of legends that are often misunderstood.
We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can always get better.
Find what inspires you. Golf basics are the same for everyone. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV. Be careful when you watch a golf swing in slow motion. The result isn't always what the golfer is trying to do. Feel and real are seldom the same.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway, Pete Cowen and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

Ok now, I finally found the video I had mentioned. It was "UNDERSTANDING SHOULDER TURN" From three years ago. Maybe you could go over these two again?? Thanks so much. love your stuff. I've been swinging the rope and it feels great and way out to the right when swinging over the alignment stick at a 45-degree angle to the target line. Thanks so much.

Hi Marcus. I’ve been watching your channel for a few weeks now. So glad I came across it (from Canada). I’ve been working on your theory of “the circle “& “swing plane”, and it’s helping me immensely to understand and hit straighter shots. Especially my driver which I’ve always sliced sooo bad!! Now, I’ve been hitting much straighter shots, like 7 out of nine in the (middle) of the fairways!!🥰 for me that’s fantastic!! Thanks so much Marcus for sharing your experience and knowledge with us wanna be golfers😎👊 I’m 71 years old and still learning. Lol😂

Marcus, I have been watching many videos on how to improve your golf “ this is the best swing ever” you need to transfer your weight, you must shallow you club on the back swing, etc etc. My focus has been to stop my slice, I know I am swinging out to in, but stopping that isn’t or wasn’t easy. I came across one of you tutorials and it seemed to make sense. I have followed your guidance and low and behold my slice is a thing of the past 😊. I hit straight mostly now with the occasional draw or fade, with my driver and my distance is improving, but Rome wasn’t made in a night. My long irons are straight or a hook, something to work on. I would like to thank you for your tutorials and please keep them going.

Wow! Great drill! I love things that don't involve gizmos, training aids and set ups. Most people have a rope or can get one easily. Not surprising that your English channel is surpassing your Swedish one. There's a lot more people that speak English and I am glad you take the time to do it in English because I'd never know about this method otherwise. You are right, it's a brain problem. It has taken me a long time to understand that turning and swinging the arms are one motion, but now it makes sense to my brain to swing out without worry about a slice or push of to the right (in my case). Thanks again!

Thanks so much Marcus for this video. The one thing that has always eluded me is how to swing faster. I can usually hit the ball solid and consistently when I swing at 60-70%. However, as soon as I try to speed things up that is when I get into trouble. The result is usually poor contact (thin or fat) and bad timing. I feel I have so much more power to utilize but the erratic ball striking is so frustrating. I think this video will help me. Thanks again!

It's the same problem we all face. The faster we swing the harder it is to be accurate in impact. Try to practice a lot in high speed and find a decent impact in that speed. You can do it. 👍

Hi Marcus. Just recently found your stuff. I’m 59 with a bad back and no natural ability at all. I am, in fact, a terrible golfer. But I am not much worse than my best friend and I love to play. I really enjoy your way of teaching and if I wasn’t over here in England, I would be coming to you for my first ever lessons. I feel sure that if I commit to your ideas and practice a lot, I will finally start to get better. I spent 2 hours on a playing field yesterday trying your swing. When I made good contact, I was hitting it further. Can’t hit it straight, but nothing new there. I am going to watch every video you have made and will be a fan for life. I just wanted to say thank you and to wish you good fortune. Merry Christmas for Worcester, England.

Hi Marcus happy new year…Can you let us know what the rear elbow looks like at the moment of impact is it being released into impact or is the bend to be held through impact and then released for iron swing…Being a righty playing left the stupid arm needs to be told what to do. I believe I’ve been attempting to hold the bend and have been struggling with the inconsistent results left ,right left… Thanks
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 8 ай бұрын
Hi Billy. We need to release ALL angles but we do it differently hitting driver or iron. Everyone is not doing this the same so it's very hard to say how your elbow should look att impact. I know I have some extending left at impact with irons but I don't keep any angles, the palm down feeling gives me the motion I look for.

So Marcus, if you put a club in your hand with this drill, would you see the shaft laying on, or at least parallel to the 45 degree guide stick at waist high? Another words it feels like you’re dropping the club behind you. Most instructors suggest dropping the shaft parallel to the flight or target line at waist high. Which I think promotes an over the top swing. Your thoughts? JS.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 8 ай бұрын
Like I say in the video, we will not get the same angle when we hit a ball. I practice and think 45 degrees and get 5-10 in a normal situation. Most golfers try to be parallell to the target line when they practice and end up over the top hitting a golf ball. There will always be a difference between practice result and "real" results. If we understand how it differ we can become better.

Hi Marcus, I’ve been thinking about this and it looks like you do it as well, question is when you address the ball it looks like the club head with driver is actually closer to you not at the ball, irons looks like the club head is at the end / closer to you Is this to reach out to the ball so you push down and out? To get that sweet draw?

@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 8 ай бұрын
My friend I don't decide at what time my butt moves. I let the lower body do its natural thing and if it's doing it wrong I am not executing the shot correctly. It will also differ between shot. It moves earlier if you hit up on the ball and later if you hit a low iron shot. The lower body is a help but will never decide or hit the shot. 👍
