Es muy bello lo que transmites....pero cada una de las cosas que muestras explica el camino del ser humano....es real que no es sustentable pero por ejemplos los bolsos, tu cámara y la tecnología que usas para transmitir también cada mensaje hace que tu también seas cómplice de cada acto ...de igual manera te felicito porque lo ideal es vivir con el mayor respeto al entorno en el que vives.....mucha suerte y sigue con lo que haces a ver si algunos aprenden también a respetar las mismas ciudades en las que viven

We also agree nature as a whole must be protected, but the message of the video goes beyond the fact we should protect those areas, it underlines the importance of spending time in nature to really connect with it, feel empathetic and finally protect natural places through a more sustainable lifestyle ;)

Nice shots. However, the commentary is really a bad joke. So you took long-haul flights to go there and then try to tell the story how important environmental protection is. I've no issues with people going places that but please don't state that you do it for a higher purpose. Just like the rest of us, you are doing it for purely selfish reasons. At the very least, we have to be honest about it.

Dear Klaus, thanks for your comments. While we strongly believe the power of transformation of this type of travel (opposed to mass tourism) is true, we also know the flights to destinations such as Patagonia generate a great quantity of CO2 emissions. We have never said the opposite. But we also have to recognize the natural willingness of humans to travel. And while choosing deep, memorable experiences in nature, humans can learn to reconnect with the essential, and feel true empathy for nature (and it does not necessarily have to be in remote places like Patagonia) which is something that really matters nowadays. This is basically the message of the video ;)

I did the O-trek this past Christmas and eco-camp does its best to negate the effects of environmental pollution by employing renewable energy practices in their sites. They also give you information on their website on how to purchase carbon credits to negate your own carbon footprint traveling their. Plus , the trek takes 7 to 9 days...which is time you are not using energy from modern conveniences. I'm not going to say it's 100% perfect, but there has to be something with that too! Plus do you expect everyone to just stay locked up in their homes not experiencing what else is out there?

Agree, tha motivational voice over really annoyed me. I mean, I travel a lot as well and there is no feeling like being alone in the mountains. But I really came here for the beautiful shots of the scenery. Perhaps I should have watched it without the sound.

For my part, I did the O circuit in November 2022 and thought to myself that I did not feel at all this thrill of reconnection with nature. I consider that this feeling is due to the overcrowding of the site (about 300 000 people per year, 60% of which are foreigners, especially on the W part where you spend your days greeting people in English), the possibility to drink beers and eat pizzas every night in the refuges. Torres left me with the unpleasant impression of being an amusement park intended for a wealthy clientele who, on the contrary, wish to enjoy beautiful landscapes without the counterpart that implies a real communion with nature during a 9-day trek: carrying a bag with your food, your tent, facing the cold nights and the Patagonian winds 24 hours a day. I agree with the comments mentioning the heresy of traveling so far to admire these landscapes: by doing so, we strongly contributed to destroy what we came to admire, the plane being the most polluting way to travel and the glaciers recording an incredible melting that horrifies all the locals. However, to temper the initial comment: as Y.Harari analyzes in Sapiens, it is not for me a selfish act but on the contrary the realization of a romantic ideal which currently crosses all the Western culture. For our survival, it is our duty to re-interrogate these myths and to invent new ones, in line with ecological realities. How can we do this? I believe that filmmakers play a crucial role in telling the stories that make us dream. Your shots are splendid and I'm sure you could make a video that would reveal the beauty of the natural spaces close to your home and make everyone want to take care of their own patch of greenery!

Beautiful scenery, cool wildlife, but there are better, less popular treks in Patagonia. If you are considering Torres del Paine, be ready for a gazillion trekkers with wall to wall tents in mandatory campgrounds with disgusting outhouses, or if you have big bucks, you can stay in a lodge. And the strongest, most savage winds you have ever dealt with.
